Tennis skirts and workout attire

Blaming this thread for making me stop into Dick's today. At the mall with my friend, and ended up getting two more golf skirts and two tops. I was only going to get one skirt and one shirt, since it was BOGO at 50% off at Dick's, but no, my friend finds another skirt and shirt on sale, that was really cute.

Another vote for sparkle skirts. I am a runner, but I wear the "hiker" length as my main attire all summer. I just bought another 4 in a lager size for this summer since I have not lost much of the pregnancy weight yet. :sad2::sad1::sad: The pockets are great and they are so comfy!

I'm going to have to check out these Sparkle Skirts! I've never heard of them. Also, the babies in your avatar are just absolutely precious! Congratulations! I have twin nephews and they are just a joy. :lovestruc

I live in the south and have found over the last couple years that it is increasingly becoming the "mom wardrobe" around here. Yoga pants in the winter, capris in the spring, skorts/run shorts in the summer. I love the moisture wicking stuff from Athleta, especially. I live in their skorts & shelf-bra tops and their "swim dresses" in the summer. So comfortable and cool! I do exercise a lot, but I tend to keep my newer ones for wearing out and about and my older ones for exercising in. I worry that I haven't fully eliminated odors from the workout clothes. But to your original point, I think you should wear whatever is comfortable for you to Disney!
here in canada as well! lol

Ok, I'm jumping on board this topic train mainly because I'm having major summer shorts burn out and would love to have something cooler for the summer. I do have a question, are most women wearing these tennis skirts/skorts with regular tennis shoes or some other type of fancier but comfortable shoes? I'm so severely fashion deficit when it comes to these types of things. I seriously couldn't put together a complete outfit of the rack if my life depended on it :sad2:

I wear all kinds of shoes with mine. Cute flats, sandals, flip flops and sneakers.

Tennies or Reef flip flops. :)

Tennis shoes, teva type shoes, Nike mush flip flops. Pretty much anything!

Awesome, thanks for the shoe tips ladies. I live in Teva mush flip flops all summer, they are soooo comfortable and would probably work with a skirt/skort. I'm not even remotely close to being a skirt/dress girl and being in my mid forties, it's hard to determine if a certain style is age appropriate but these breathable quick drying skirts/skorts sound very comfortable. I'll run by TJ Maxx, Burlington, Kohls, Target, and Dicks sporting goods this weekend and see what I can find and then report back. Thanks again.

We just booked a last minute June trip. Kind of scared of the heat. I started reading this thread yesterday. You are all responsible for me spending the day looking at sparkle skirts, moisture wicking tanks and cute shoes. I think I'm going to get two skirts and two tanks. Not sure where to get tanks. I am busty 36DD, but slim. No shelf bras for me. Any suggestions?

It's nice to know that when I am thinking to myself "no one cares what I look like" that I am seemingly exceptionally wrong. Evidently, strangers are mocking me and having fun at my expense? I am not sure why it brings you joy to tease strangers-perhaps that is something to examine?
Oh don't let it get to you. I'm sure people have lots of fun laughing at me. I usually wear colourful cotton capris and disney shirts. You can see me coming a mile away. I sometimes throw in ears (even at home). I don't care what people think. My clothes make me happy. People will forget in a moment. Just have fun and be comfy.

OP here! Went to Dick's yesterday and got one black and one khaki golf shirt and one cute collared sleeveless navy blue/white patterned golf shirt. I'm wearing the black skirt with a pink Mickey shirt and black Sketchers. The khaki skirt I'm wearing with the new navy golf shirt and the shoes that looked the cutest are these comfy black sandals with bumble bees on them. I showed my hubby and he said "Wow, that looks really dressy . . ." like he was concerned he was going to look under dressed next to me. I had to laugh because I was initially concerned that I was going to look WAY under dressed myself since I usually wear sundresses to the parks. You have all sold me! Cute, stylish, dressy, and WAY more comfortable!! Thanks ladies!!

Just bought two sparkle skirts today for my June trip. A black and the happy print, both in the longer style. Now I want to find tanks to pair them with. Hoping I will be comfy in the heat.

This past weekend I noticed that a lot of women are wearing workout attire, especially tennis skirts (actual tennis skirts, not just very short skirts) in the theme parks. They looked really cute - they didn't look like they had just run 10 miles or something LOL!! Very put together, etc but not something I have ever considered before. Is this something new because it was literally everywhere. We usually aren't there when it is really hot and it was HOT so maybe that was it?

It's Florida. We in the south Florida wear work out clothing a bunch. It's breaths. It lets you sweat and does not show it. I'm at the gym all the time and when I'm going in I sweat like crazy. So it was only logical for me to wear some of my bras and pants to the parks.

I like to wear my galaxy pants on space ship earth and mission space, Epcot fun.

I wore all workout pants/skirts last year when we were there with Disney tee shirts. I was VERY comfortable and still looked cute in the pictures.

Found some pix today on my iPad. These are four of my skirts that I wore my last trip in October. They all have the shorts built in. None of the photos show my feet though. I wore white Keds or my black Rocket Dog sneakers, that have fuchsia laces and a bit of purple trim. I always have a scarf or a little sweater, especially if we are going to be out after dark and especially if we are going to Epcot. It's always been a little windy by the lagoon for Illuminations. I also tend to get cold with AC.

You look great! I don't think I've ever looked that nice in a theme park.

So I tried Kohl's today (because I had Kohl's cash to spend) and I'm not sure if I was looking at the right thing. I tried on a few things from the running section and they just seemed so short! I'll hit up Dick's next week (there's one down the road from my office). Are golf skirts longer than running skirts?
