My wife and I are staying at BCV on rented points for the first time this September, and for us playing tennis is a big part of any vacation. I just discovered, however, that the Villas were built on top of the Beach Club's old tennis courts.

I know that there is a court on the Yacht Club side, and one at the Boardwalk. Are either of these within easy walking distance? Do they have lights for night play?

My husband and I stayed at BCV (also on rented points) last May. We were on our 2nd honeymoon without the kids. We enjoy recreational tennis and thought that it would be fun to get a set or two in during our stay.

First question: to take our racquets and balls or get them at the "recreation" desk at the BC/YC. I am very glad that we brought our own. I'm not sure if you can rent or use the hotel's, but we never even figured out where the "recreation" desk was.

Second confusion: The sole court (and I mean 1 court total) is on the far side of the YC. So if you are staying at the BCV it is quite a walk. We also found out that there are no reservations for the court - it's fcfs. So, we got dressed for tennis and set off for the court. Upon coming close to the court we could hear that it wase in use. So, we changed again and went to the pool.

About an hour later I sent my husband back to the court with our two way radio. The court was free so I packed up all our pool stuff and headed over to the court. I used the bathroom adjacent to the quiet pool (next to the court) and changed and we did enjoy an hour of tennis. The court is very private - there are a few YC rooms that over look it.

We never played again because we never felt like the walk over was worth the risk of having the court taken.
