Ten cent insertion fees on Ebay

Do you list during "sale" days

  • Yes, I take advantage of cheaper selling fees

  • No, it drives too much competition and results in lower bids.

The question is--To list, or not to list???

What do you think? Do the low fee days increase competition or bring out more buyers because there are more choices. I have a bunch of stuff to list. I had a garage sale, the weather was lousy and now I am thinking okay fine, I will try it on ebay. (Lots of toys and such.) Really wanted to get it going now, but I don't want to bother if the market is "flooded." So, do you list more during this time? Or do you avoid it?

Your poll needs a third choice. :teeth:
If I was selling books, toys, clothes or household items I'd wait until after the sale and avoid holiday weekends like Memorial Day weekend for the end of the auction date.

BUT (notice my big BUT ;) ) If I was selling a very collectible item or very rare hard to find item then I'd still list.

It all depends on the item and the keywords you are going to use to list it.

Sunday evening I listed 6 old postcards auctions and within 10 minutes had a bid on one. Today I have bids on 4 of them. IMO I don't think a listing sale would affect my sales of those items but I know they would affect my sales of books and toys.

Well, ya went and made it all complicated on me! ;)

I can't figure out how to edit the poll if I even can. Was going to add "It depends" but perhaps others will just explain like you did.

Anyway, I did go ahead and list a few things. A few items I noticed there are bunches of listings for the same thing already--some scrapbooking items etc.

I am interested to see what others say. I never like to end on a holiday weekend and I always like to end on Sunday. (I think it might be my own personal ebay superstition. :flower: )

:rotfl: Nooooooooooo that's my superstition!! Jinx! :rotfl: But the Sunday thing most likely doesn't matter if the item is rare.... :confused3
