We did our last name (11 letters) on the 1st line and our city and state (10 letters) on the second line.

We went with simple:

My first and last name on the first line, followed by my wife's first and last name on the second line.

Are there any symbols available to use in the inscription? like Mickey ears?

DH keeps asking about doing this. I have seen nothing about it, unless it was buried in our original paperwork. Can anybody fill me in on how to do it and what the rules were (how many characters, etc.). I would really appreciate it!

With 5 in our family, we wanted the kids to feel special by listing each one of our names. By doing so, we did not list our last name. That doesn't matter to us. Who is going to read it anyway!? Anyone who knows us would know us by all 5 of our first names anyhow.

We ended up putting our last name (only 4 letters) and the state abbr. we are from on line one. On line two, we listed my, DH and DS names. I think we had a few characters to spare on each line.
