I was just online trying to figure out the discount and they keep putting me in FW Cabins. I tried changing dates and all different things but no matter what same resort. I was looking for POR and nothing. Maybe sold out?

I called earlier today and CRO couldn't find availability at POR so I stayed with my AAA rate. When I saw that the discount had made it online, I tried again and lucked out!

My original Ressie was for POP 10/7 - 10/17 Standard View w.7day WP&M with Hopper pass and dining plan for $1901. This morning @ 7:30 a.m. nothing available at Pop or any moderates other than FW. Switching to AS Music -standard that saves $565.00 for at total of $1336.00.
I would like to move back to Pop or up to a Moderate. Priced my same # of Nights using different dates on the web and if I move up to a Moderate I will save $6.00 over my original reservation @ Pop. Since this money was already budgeted, I may upgrade if Pop does not come back available for my dates and a room opens up at one of the Moderates.

My preference would be to stay POP with the $565.00 savings as the savings would cover 90% of the expenses of my entire the Trip. The $565.00 covers my Airfare, The Conference Fee for the Conference I am attending in Orlando during my trip, and parking at Airport for 11 days, plus my hotel stay the night before and after my flights.

In regards to Airfares, Like Pete said on the Pod Cast this week, shop around airports & Flights at all airports in your area of the country - I saved $300 + on my airfare by flying out of the Indianapolis International Airport (2 hours North) over the Louisville International Airport which is 8 miles from my house.

I am going Solo, so it is just ME.
Go to the Disney Website and check out the various options based on your dates and Resorts Categories. I am finding that my 1st week is where the problem is in getting my preferred resort.

It should have in red at the top that your resort choice is unavailable, thus it then shows you what is available. I been running into this, trying to move my reservation back to my preferred resort. I would be willing to split my stay, if I can find something that works, such as Moderate during part of my trip and a value for the balance, but so far I haven't found anything available for the first half of my trip.

Here's our #s. Our stay is part Reg and part value season:

Opt #1 AAA room only discount on 2N CR - MK View and 6N ASMo Pref room. 7day passes through ticket broker for 2A, 2C purchased before Aug = $2300 (can be cancelled w/ no penalty up to 5 days in adv)

Opt #2 New Pkg deal 3N CR - Garden Wing/GV and 4N ASMO Pref room and 5 day passes = $2270 and includes insurance ($100) since you're paying in full 45 days in advance we would want the protection.

Basically we would be going from 8N down to 7N and loosing the tower MK view. True 3 of the nights would now be CR vs only 2 in Opt 1 but they'd be in the Wing/GV and we really have our hearts set on Tower MK view! To upgrade to a 7day pass would probably be ~$20. no biggie.

I kept relooking at the numbers but since we got our tickets early....and we'd be loosing the view...it just wasn't a deal. I'm really bummed. I was hoping for a room only discount code.

Congrats to all of you who have saved. Our trip is 12/4 to 12/15. No savings at all. And, I thought this was supposed to be a slow time. This is the first time in more than 10 years that there was no AP discount available and we were willing to change resorts for a decent discount. So, rack rate at AKL CL and AAA at CR MKV. We would have changed our dates but I snagged super good air ($108 round trip from Dulles) so we are locked in.

I believe the discount is off the room alone. I have two rooms - one has 3 adults and a child, the other has 3 adults. Plus dining. The discount for both reservations was almost exactly the same (less than $1 difference). If dining were discounted, the room with 4 people would have been reduced more than the other room.

I agree - we have a pkg at POFQ with 2 A, 2 C, 9 day PH WPM, DDP and we saved $524 (orig cost $3597)

DBIL has a pkg at POFQ with 1 A, 9 day PH WPM, DDP and he saved $524 (orig cost 2125.99)

I got 2 rooms under AP rate, at CSR, for $145.12 tax included, and one room with AAA at $157. All 3 rooms are at Coronado Springs. I still need to book one more room there for our grand gathering. The rest of the group all have 10 day hoppers they bought B4 the price increase.

I had Pop booked 12/3 - 12/7 at $89 per night standard room.
No Pop on AP rate but they offered me ASsp for $59, no thanks.
So I got CBR for $99 per night, they told me it was the only mod left.
So for $50 more I got to upgrade

Thanks for the info on it being a discount on only the room portion. I did not buy tickets yet because I had a feeling that they were going to offer package discounts this year. Just from the way they are marketing the dining plan, not really telling you the price. Seems like a way to hide the expenses and just give you one number. My mind needs to break it down though. Contrats to everyone on great discounts...enjoy your trips.

tripplanner: I know what you mean, it's all fuzzy Mickey Math to me too. I have to see it on paper in front of me to break it down and make sense of it all.

jennib: did CRO just out of the blue offer you $59 a night room rate at ASsports or did you have a pin code for room only rate? I wouldn't mind that. I got a package there and if I got the room only it would shave another $150 off my reservation!! Let me know please. Yea, I'm cheap!

We had 4 rooms w/one day base tickets and ddp at CBR for the first part of October. We are coming in shifts, so all rooms not for the same number of nights....but we saved 1300.00 with the new code!! Kept our original dates and resort . We are sooooo happy !
