Alternately, instead of arguing over whether late arrivers are "lazy" or not, we could just accept that being lazy is perfectly normal human behavior.
I'm lazy. To me, getting up early in the morning just to go on a ride isn't worth it. I'm glad the new FP+ system will let me do that, without all you early morning, type A people getting all the fastpasses. If you don't like it, adjust.
But more to the OP's point, you can buy extra fastpasses - just buy two tickets, and get two magic bands. Sure, it doubles your cost, but if you really want to be sneaky, you could buy the extra tickets as child tickets for everyone - even adults (I doubt they'd check them at the FP station).
The two caveats with that is are
1) I don't know whether the magic bands will work if they haven't been scanned at the park entrance (I think it would depend on whether Disney has already thought of this). If they did, you could probably just enter the park with your first band, walk right back out (do you scan MBs on the way out? probably not), and re-enter the park with your second set.
2) Being non-resort guests with that second ticket, you'll have to reserve your FP+ at the park. But again, as of now there appear to be plenty of FP+ left.
If it sounds outrageous price-wise, it is. But then again, Universal's front of the line pass is double the price of a regular pass. I don't doubt that many wealthy WDW visitors will be trying this soon.
