Tell us about your strange neighborhood "characters"

We had steering wheel guy. This old man walked around several cities with a steering wheel. He turned it as he turned, used hand signals for his blinkers, and even blew the horn. ok, he pushed down on the center of the steering wheel, but to him, it worked.
Last time I saw him was a while back, but he had traded in his black wheel for a red and white stripped one.



"My next door neighbor is a 75-year old retired government worker, yet every day he goes out to get his paper in his bathrobe and hardhat. As far as any of us know, he never worked in construction."

That had me laughing for a while

In my old neighborhood we had "The Vampire." He lived by himself and we NEVER saw him outside during the day. Saw him maybe three times at night during the entire 7 years we lived there. The HOA got the landscapers to mow his lawn too. One day I came home from work and there were several cop cars outside his house. Very sad really, but The Vampire was dead, and had been for quite some time. Mailman finally alerted the authorities.

Now we have "Scooter Boy" who rides one of those motorized scooters around the neighborhood. You hear him long before you see him.

The house across the street is the Delinquent/Arsonist house. Teenage daughter never goes to school, sits around smoking all day, cops visit every once in a while. Son is in middle school and broke into the elementary school behind our house last year. Just a few weeks ago he threw some firecrackers into the school shed where they keep the lawnmowers and started a small fire. He's going to court on that one.

We're probably the Crazy girl house since my DD (age 4) wears her dress-up clothes to play outside, likes to sing and dance in the driveway, and used to perform "shows" on the front porch with her friends.b People slow down and look...

There is this one guy. He mows his lawn every week. He takes in his garbage cans right when he gets home from work. He is always out pulling his weeds. He washes his car on the weekends. His wife bakes cookies for the neighborhood children (I know what *I* put in my cookies and it isn't for neighborhood children!).

They give me the heebie-jeebies!

In my neighborhood there is a GUY a fairly older gentlemen who walks up and down the main road almost every day . \
Doesn't sound strange huh???

Yeah well he walks up and down the road wearing a Dress, Easter hat and Carrying a Purse. I know it is a man as he has a beard!!!!
