DH and I get TWO date nights for our upcoming trip. (thanks grandma and grandpa!). I let him choose which restaurants, as this is our first big trip since he came home from Iraq. He chose Narcoossee's and California Grill.

I know the menu changes often at CG, but tell me your favorites at either one, or both, of these restaurants. I am not a huge shellfish fan, but DH likes some of it.

I also got our ressies for 7:40 at both places....hopefully we can time our meals right to see the fireworks that are set to go off at 9. :goodvibes

First off - Welcome Home to your DH! *insert salute smiley here*

I have only been to Narcoossees once. My son ordered the Mussels appetizer which was outstanding. We both had the Surf & Turf which was delicious.

California Grill we usually order 5-6 courses & split each one so we can experience alot of flavours. DH loves the Oak-fried Tenderloin, so that's what we usually get.

As far as the Fireworks, let you server know that you would like to stage your meal around them. Our servers have held courses while we went to the Observation Deck & then had them out in minutes after the show, piping hot & fresh. It generally takes us about 2 hours to eat at CG.

Narcoossees has a lovely view of Wishes as well - just go out on the deck about 5 minutes before they start. They pipe in the music & the lights playing off the water is doubly beautiful. Very romantic. IMHO, even more romantic than the Deck at CG.

Have a great time on your Date Nights!

At Narcoossee's - I enjoyed the Salmon and DH's filet was outstanding. We also had the calamari appetizer, which was excellent.

At CA Grill, I got the butter fish last time and it was out of this world (Feb. 2005), I think DH got the filet there, too and really enjoyed it. We also ate there in Feb. 2004 - I cannot remember what we got, but it was excellent.

Both of them have great food, but the service at CA Grill puts NArcoossee's to shame. I have NEVER had service as excellent as it was at CA Grill (both times) ANYWHERE, EVER!!!!!

We have only been to Narcoossee's, but we have dined there the last 4 trips that we have been to WDW! We love it that much to return everytime from now on! :thumbsup2 For an appetizer I have had the calamari one time and the other times I have ordered the crab cakes. They were both good, but I enjoyed the crab cakes much better, they are delicious! For an entree I have always ordered the Surf n Turf, which is out of this world! I think I will try the whole lobster next time, just for a change of pace, I heard that it is also very good. For dessert, I like the Key Lime Creme Bruele.

We just love it here, not only good quality food, but we have always had superb service! The view cannot be beat if you have a table by the window. We also enjoy taking the resort launch from the Mk over to the GF and then back! :cloud9:

Thanks everyone! I'm excited for our choices!

We do plan on trying to hit the MK after dinner at Narcoossee's. The kids will be with grandpa and grandma in their room, so we can take our time- and the park is open until 12! Woo! We never get to go on the E Tickets together anymore with the baby swap, so it will be fun to actually sit together on Splash Mtn or Big Thunder. :thumbsup2

We dined at CA Grill in August and I thought the triple cheese flat bread, hears of romaine salad and Filet with terryaki sauce were all excellet. I also loved the banana butterscotch buzz for dessert. :thumbsup2
