DH and I were just discussing what to get DS for his 9th birthday (December 4...less than 3 weeks before Hanukkah, ugh!) We do a gift for each night of Hanukkah (nothing big, a few DS games and lots of smaller stuff) but for his birthday I'm stumped. He got an MP3 player last year and we want him to use it more.
He would like a 3DS but that's not happening. I just snagged a nice tabletop foosball game at JCPenney for $20 (originally $35) so that is one - maybe from his sister. My Mom will give him money and we let him pick out a Lego set with it (last year I knew he wanted the Hogwarts Express so I just got it ahead of time for a great price!)...the rest goes in the bank. DH gave him one of our old laptops to use; he has a video camera (small and cheap but it works); and he can use our digital camera for pics when he wants. So, really, I'm stumped for his birthday.
This thread is great! I like the look of the Snap Circuits...hadn't seen those before...and I remember he is always interested in the Hex Bug sets when we see them in operation, so I'm going to check those out. The helicopter looks cool but if he didn't crash it, my DD would probably tear it apart!
Oh, yeah, just remembered...we are planning to go to Coco Key in February (in Connecticut) and DH will take him to see SHREK which is touring there, that night. I should be able to buy the tickets in November so I could wrap those for his birthday and keep the Coco Key part as a surprise!
Also we are planning the "Everything-But-Disney" trip for next August...so maybe a Universal gift card (do they have those?)
