I am wanting to start Christmas shopping for my sons (ages 10 & 11) but other than video games (out of the question, they already have enough) and clothes, I am at a loss...help! :confused3

DS10 wants stuff from the Lego Harry Potter collection, especially Diagon Alley.

Nerf guns - most likely from the new Vortex series. He doesn't need any more Nerf guns but it is the only thing he wants.

What sort of budget are you looking at?

At this age, you can do digital cameras, MP3 player, i-pod touch. And if they already have an ipod/ipod touch, itunes gift cards are a hit.

My son's a couple years younger but plays with the older boys in our court and these things seem to be a hit: A huffy green machine, scooters, basketball hoop, most outdoor toys (tetherball, balls) legos, nerf guns.

Also, you can do clothes, but listen to what they're requesting. It seems like this is the age that they really start recognizing brand names and developing their own style. Maybe they want a certain brand of shoes that you normally wouldn't spend the money on or an sports jersey and Christmas is the perfect time for that special purchase.

ETA: I see you're doing Disney a month after Christmas. You can also do a Disney gift card for each child, or purchase a few pins or vinylmations for them to trade in the park. Also, maybe you can suprise them with something special to do at Disney. Maybe the fireworks cruise, the dessert fireworks viewing, or even one of the tours at Disney or fishing cruises.

Video games are the main thing on my DS10's list, but besides that he is still into Cars alot so he is getting Cars squinkies, a Cars set we found at WDW, and maybe a board game, although we really have too many of those as it is.

Something that he already has and loves are Snap Circuits, they sell them on Amazon.

Do they have any extra-curricular activities that you could get something for, like a new bowling ball, Under Armour, nice bat bag, etc. My DS also likes the glow-in-the-dark Crayola sets.

DS is 11 - his wish list includes XBox games and Legos - he'd love an iPad, however that's way too expensive - I finally scored a 32GB HP Touchpad *$162 shipped to my door! So he'll get that!!

I have absolutely no idea what we are getting for DSS 10. He is our hardest one to shop for. He's never played with toys (not even when he was little) and video games are off and on. He's more interested in getting on XBox live with his friends and talk and fool around. He has a Kinect so perhaps a game for that. Other then that, I have no idea!

Guess I should add the years to my siggy, our first trip was 2003 & the second 2006. Their Dad & I just divorced so no trip in sight now :sad2:

Maybe wait till it gets closer! Their likes and dislikes may change a lot between now and then!

I just wanted to put some things in layaway to help me budget, even with working 2 jobs things are tight.

My son is 9 and he wants a 3d ds. But those are pretty expensive, so I don't know. He also really likes to play board games with the family and wants uno attack and he's just now getting into legos after he got a couple from friends for his last b-day. Good Luck! I'll be watching this thread for ideas!

I am upgrading my ds's DSLite to a 3DS so he'll get a couple games for that, and maybe a Wii or Xbox game. For non video game stuff, he is getting some Legos, Lego Ideas Book, Nerf Vortex gun, a remote control helicpoter with camera and some Star Wars figures.

If I can find a nice e-reader for under $75 thats what I'm going to give my nephew. He's an avid reader and is always buying books.

My DS ten will be getting a 3D DS and some games. He will also get WWE wresting action figures and whatever new ring is out at Christmas.

My ds10 really only plays video games, Legos and uses the computer. I am planning getthing him a set of Legos, a Wii Game and a Netbook (Walmart has a kids netbook for $79 - it's only a 7" but that will work for him).

Thanks pp for posting that Huffy Green Machine, ds would love that!

DS will be 10 a week before Xmas. He is already getting a custom Schwinn bike. My mom is getting him the Kinect for his XBox. He loves playing outside, video games, sports, and WWE. He wants a real dirt bike, go kart, or 4-wheeler for the woods and more Nerf Guns. The new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book will be out soon, which is def on my list to buy him. One cool thing that may have to wait to next year both kids want is a fort and a zip line.
