We just finished making them.

We used 2 Coloured Foam Sheets, and glued in a cardboard sheet between them. It made for a sturdy cover (both front and back).

Then we bought 5 x 8 blank index cards (card stock). And used 5 book rings down the edges. Each book has 100 pages.

We then picked up sticker sheets to decorate them.

The kids will use it for autographs, photos, and a diary of daily activities.

Foam Sheets: $1.29 x 2
Cardboard (already had): Free
200 Index Cards: $5.85
Rings (package of 18): $5.99
Stickers: $1.99 x 2
Total: $18.40 / 2 = $9.20 each

I think they look great. It will be a great memory for the kids.

I make my kids autograph albums every time we go and they still love looking thru them.

I just loved how you put these together and I loved it even more that you were able to share that experience with your children. I am especially appreciative that you would decide to post this idea for us to see, I have currently been trying to decide how to bind my son's 1st autograph book (he is going to be 2) and your ideas were a HUGE HUGE help. Great idea! There are so many ways to make awesome autograph books. This one looks super easy and cute, too! I know you can also get things bound together at Staples. I haven't tried that, but I know it is an option.
