Southern Louisiana and we currently have a FOOT OF FREAKING SNOW. ***. This is not cool.

12 degrees in central MS. We never got any snow, but folks down south did. Was talking to @SouthAlabama5er yesterday. Down in Grand Bay, AL. He sent this:

Took Whisky for a walk this morning at 7:45. It was 15 feels like 8. We got about 1 inch of snow. The roads are a mess. It was even hard walking whisky. Took her to the park and walked in the grass. I am sure the highways are ok but nothing else. It won't get above freezing today so it will be pretty miserable for the rest of the day. Thursday and Friday the day temps should be above freezing.

We actually warmed up overnight. It was 1 about 10pm and 13 this morning. Might get above freezing today.

Left for work at 7:30 and it was -6 degrees. When I got to work it was -8. Hopefully by this weekend we will get above freezing.

The past week was cold for N. VA. We get hard freezes for sure, just rarely single digits days in a row. We faired well though heat pumps worked hard to keep up. Should see high 40s by Sunday...gonna feel like a heat wave.

Side note for my fellow garage tinkerers. I have one of those chinese diesel heaters in the garage. Running it on level 4 (out of 6) for the past few days, even with single digit temps it kept a large 2 car garage at close to 40F and burning just over a gallon of diesel a day. I was ok with that compared to the near 25F it started out at in the garage when I decided to run the heater. The reason I ran it was to keep some things from feezing up. And the few small projects I needed to work on it was mich nicer to do then when its cold in the garage.

I can bear with 80s at FW.....

WE got to 48/49 last two days which helped with the melt. Today made it to 40, though looks like heat miser is trying to send some more warmth our way with up to 60 by Thursday. Good time to rinse the cars before the next cold snap.

We went from cold weather over the weekend that wasn't bad (but bad enough to kill off a mountain run)... to Disneyland-like weather here in eastern Virginia.

We might have an occasional 70 degree day before May, but not many.

I was talking to a southern friend last week who was talking about coming up to my area and doing a camping weekend in the end of March or early April. I had to remind them that it still snows here that time of year.

Its 44F and raining today. Think that will take care of the last of the frozen stuff on the ground here. Still got another month to go though not much on the 10 day forecast for freezing weather. Not camping weather yet.....
