Tell me the FIRST thing you're gonna do when you go to DL

First we'll do a quick stop at city hall to grab a few things....then if Mommy has her way it will be off to POTC and Pirate Island...if DS has his way it will proably be Space Mountain and Star Tours...lol

Well, usually I head straight for Casey Jr., *** I always have, ever since I was little.

But I suppose on my next trip, I'll first go get my "official" AP, then head over to City Hall for my birthday badge.

I can't wait!!!

You can probably just make one stop. When we got our APs we told them we were coming back for our anniversary and they said we could go to back to them at the bank or city hall. They showed us the anniversary pins. So I would assume they would also have birthday there too. Be sure to ask.

When we go on Jan.2 we will head directly to the HM to see NBC. Second will be IASW. :)

When we went in feb. i had plans to go here first or there first.. but when my granddaughter saw the rides.. we went on what she wanted to.... we just went at a laid back plan...enjoying where we were at that moment...and the excitement she felt.

i think the first ride we went on was that similar to dumbo but with little rocket ships..

i Love peter pan ride..it's one of my favorites..it was the last ride we went on before we went home.

my mother told me the other day..i can't wait to go back on peter pans ride..when we go back i want to do it twice.:goodvibes

the first thing I do is while going through the tunnel I close my eyes and take a deep breath and then here it comes omg yes me Im actually smiling from ear to ear:teeth: and i take it super duper slow while everyone else is zooming in front of me trying to make it to their favorite ride..but I am just enjoying the ambiance and being at home:cloud9: :lovestruc

I am with you on this! I'm gonna be soaking in the magic! Smiling and happy like the Disney geek that I am! After that we usually head to Pirates. This year DD-8 has the idea to ride the train first so she will probably get her way but we will be heading to New Orleans station and straight to Pirates from there.

First thing is Peter Pan, because if you get there quick enough you can basically walk on or only have a couple of minute wait. If you don't hit Peter Pan first thing you will wait 30+ minutes any other time you go that day. Not worth waiting in a massive line when you can basically walk on first thing. Of course the walking on thing is only available on a non Magical Morning day (on those days if you get into the park early still head for Peter Pan first as it will crowd up during MM and not let up all day). Besides what better way to start off your DL trip than to hear those famous words, "Here we go.....!"

Yep, that's why. Not to mention the fact that Ridemax just about will always put Peter Pan first on its itineraries.

Im with most of you,Peter Pan for me but I may be doing FL with out the kids this year! They want to ride "fast "rides. I could spend the whole time in FL!

i forgot..we DO stop by cityhall and pick up some buttons for the people in our party who are visiting disneyland for the first time. Or for birthdays or anniversaries.. it's quick and easy and makes a nice keepsake for scrapbooks.:goodvibes

Our very first stop is to get a locker on Main Street before they sell out. Otherwise to have to go outside the park every time you want in your locker. :)

Oh probably cry... I am getting teary thinking of it - dang pregnancy hormones!

Our tradition with DS is to go on POTC first as it was his "first" ride ever.

Since we are APs we tend to always hit the parks for a short visit on the night we get into town (usually Friday but sometimes Thursday night). We go the HM first then double back to Main Street by way of POTC. Next stop is Refreshment Corner for cherry cokes and Mickey pretzels and then settle in for the fireworks.

In the mornings we always head to PP first and then to Dumbo... Always those two and in that order, and then the rest of FL.

Gee, how did I miss this thread last night?!

Wow...let me tell you that I have that image in my mind of walking through the turnstiles and under the arch and voila! There I am, looking at the giant pumpkin on Main Street. That is when the Great Snowball Effect that Pink Budgie speaks of hits me. That is when whatever that 'thing' is that I am convinced Disney pumps into their air seeps into my nostrils and takes over! It may be Pixie Dust, it may be a special chemical of some kind - whatever it is, it captures me right on Main Street, and I get that excited-as-a-little-child feeling all over again. Like my friend said, every time she starts walking down Main Street, she feels like it is the first time all over again. Everything seems possible. You want to do everything, buy everything, see everything, ride everything, eat everything, take pictures of everything....and come to DLR 5 more times in the next year!

So what will I do first? Well, IF my plan goes the way I am hoping it will, with no further complications, then in 5 days when I arrive:cool1: , the first thing I will do is head to the Bank to get my photo taken for an AP!!! That is my plan. IF, for some reason, the AP is not possible on this trip, then I suppose that the very first thing we will do is stop at the Mickey Pumpkin and get a PhotoPass picture taken. But even before we visit the Bank or the Pumpkin, probably the first thing I will do is breathe a big sigh of relief. This trip has almost been cancelled a few different times, and I almost thought it was just not going to happen at all. So I will be so thankful to be back at DLR that I will just have to sort of look around, take it all in, and convince myself that I AM actually there! And then we visit the Pumpkin!!!

Eat breakfast on Main Street, then head for Indy for fastpasses. And then ride Pirates and HM.popcorn::

haha I get teary thinking about it too. I have nothing to blame it on other than 'first time' faces from my kids.

I guess I Should add that besides getting the first time buttons, we'll probably head to Jungle cruise or Pirates. Those are the ones my kids are SO excited for.

If it's open when I go next I'm heading straight for the Sleeping Beauty Walkthrough in the castle. It's my favorite film, and I've been to Disneyland so many times this year that I don't have to worry about doing certain attractions in certain lands first.

I am usually wiping the tears from my face while waiting in line outside of the turnstiles, trying to hide my face so nobody else thinks I am a goober for crying at DL! :lmao:

By the time we make it through the tunnels, I am ready to go!!! If there are characters out, we try to head for a few pics before the park is packed, and then it is off to FL most likely. It kind of depends on what mood I am in I guess. I don't really care what ride is first, I am just so darn happy to be there! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Blue Ribbon Bakery, followed by Indiana Jones or Space Mountain...depending on what direction we head!

On this trip, we will get there in the middle of Sunday afternoon on a holiday weekend. Last trip, DD was sick and was under the stress of trying to just function while we tried to make up for lost time. This time, we are going to STROLL up Main Street, looking, listening, taking pictures, enjoying! I think the first ride we will do is the train ride, all around the park. She missed it last time! :thumbsup2
