Tell me more about the movies at the BC

I hear there is something new and exciting at the Epcot Resort area - movies on the "beach." Can someone give me more details on this? Where/when/what...anything you know. We'll be at the BC in 32 short days and this is certainly intriguing.

My neighbors just returned this past Sunday and the report they gave me on the movies was - camp fire (S'mores), movie around 9:00. When they were there Pirates was showing and The Emperors New Groove. On the Beach in front of the Beach Club.

We just got back last week and they were showing one every night. It was really nice. We never made it to the sing-a-long campfire which was at 8:00 but we did make it over to a movie twice. The movie starts at 9:00 and they have all the lounge chairs set up facing the big screen. They also have a towel cart there and they pass out towels to sit on if all the chairs are taken. I actually used mine to wrap around me because it got cool sitting out there. We saw The Incredibles and Cars. It was nice and peaceful after being in the park all day. One night we ordered a pizza from Spoodles and enjoyed it while watching the movie. I know at the Beach Club they gave us a list of the movies they were showing all week at check in.

All that info is right. We got back from the BCV on Monday and the whole week we wanted to see a movie on the beach. They have a huge screen and some pool chairs facing it set up the whole time. It looked like fun. And yes, they were showing Pirates, the Emperor's New Groove, and some other movies- different ones every night. They recommended that kids bring their beach towels, or anyone for that matter, so you can enjoy the movie better.

My best friend and I never did this because we were always at some fireworks show or too tired. (And we're eighteen! Embarrassing....) Every night we'd finish the fireworks and then decide to go to our rooms and watch TV in the comfort of our own queen beds. Go figure.

I do wonder... and I'm sure Disney CMs have already ironed out this small issue- whether they really start the video at 9pm. If you are familiar with the area, Epcot is within five minutes walking distance from the beach. Doesn't the sound of the fireworks for Illuminations interfere from 9pm until whenever the fireworks end? Hmmm....

Thanks Kim. Now I am more excited to go. My neighbors also said the Movie on the Beach was great. Hoping my older sons will want to sit and watch because it sounds like something I would enjoy!

I have never heard about this. This sounds great. We are staying at the Beach Club and leave in just 16 days. Wow, now this means we need to rearrange some of our nighttime activities so that we can do this one night. DD13 and DD10are going to love this. Does anyone know of anywhere I can go to find out the movie schedule or other info.

Thanks for the responses! I am so excited about this. I hope they're still doing it next month when we arrive. I may call to find out how long it's going to last since someone thinks the screen "moves" around. It sounds like the same thing they do at Fort Wilderness, which we've done many many times.

I do not think they are having movies at SSR anymore--not sure--but they said BC thru 9/28, maybe longer. Campfire around 8, Movie at 9. They give out schedule for the week at BC. I wish someone form Disney would post the month on laughingplace like they do for Ft W.
