We just returned from a week at WDW and it of course was HOT! It was much hotter than the same time previous year due to lack of rain. Therefore we are considering trying a different month of the year perhaps sometime during April. I read that early April is peak season but on the 23rd it becomes regular season so the prices are better. So what is the weather like then? What about crowds? We were at WDW 1st weekend of Dec in 2005 is it similar?

Thanks for any help! As the obsessive planner of our group I'm already thinking of the next trip even though we just got back :rotfl2:

DD and I were at WDW starting on 4/4... The weather was great and the crowds were very manageble, I thought... We walked on rides like BTMR and Splash mountain...

we went the end of april/beg of may two years ago, and it was great. The weather was nice enough to be comfortable- and to go swiming without being too cold or too hot when you got out of the water, and the crowds where managable never too long of a wait, but not really walk-on-the ride type of lines. IMO, the key is when easter/passover falls on the calendar, since many school districts move their spring breaks around those holidays, and the crowds follow those days too. We would definately go again during that time of year.

We went the last week of April 4/22-4/30 2005. We had some spring breakers from the northeast but the crowds were not bad. Weather was wonderful. Did rain one evening. In the Spring you do have to factor in Easter(Easter was in March this year and next year Easter is 4/16/2006). I would chose April again.

As you can see in my signature, April is the only month we've been there. The weather is so great and crowds managable, that I"m afraid to go any other month. We've deposited for April 23-28, 2006, can't wait to go again.

We are also considering Mother's Day weekend to do the flower show and the brunch. Has anyone gone during that time?

We were at the World this year from 4/15 to 4/23. The temps were a little up and down (first time I've ever worn jeans and a sweatshirt there!), but then it warmed up towards the end of the week, and was warm enough for swimming, etc.

Most importantly - NO RAIN!! It literally did not rain a drop until we were in the car on the way back to the airport (and at that point, who cared)?

You should keep in mind that Easter falls on 4/16 in 2006. We had a few Northeastern areas on Spring Break during our time this year, but I think when Easter falls in April, it is an even more popular time for Spring Break to occur - especially in the North. I would avoid those 2 weeks or so in April this year.

Crowds were pretty manageable - about what I saw when I went a couple of years ago in late May/early June (after Memorial Day).
