Tell me about your success moving FPs up...

So I recently read that you can move a FP up after the previous FP's use...

For example
Let's say you have a FP for Spaceship Earth from 9-10am
A Character Spot FP from 10-11am
And a Soarin FP from 11-12pm

You use the Spaceship Earth FP at 10, the Character Spot FP at 10:10 and then you have 50 minutes until your Soarin' FP. Have you been successful in moving that last FP up so you can use it earlier?

We just returned from a trip and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to adjust times of FPs. Mind you this was early May and not so crowded. Adjusting times is easy as it can be done on your phone. Good luck!

Nope - But I'll say this - if you do SE right at 10 - it's a long ride - by the time you get to Char Spot - its' 10:15-10:30. That takes some time - so - you probably won't be entering the building for Soarin before 10:40. You could try to do "The Land" if there's no wait. Or hit the restroom/buy a drink - and by then - it's going to be 11 anyway.

I personally would make Soarin your first FP if possible as (1) you may be able to ride it the first time on standby and then use FP for the 2nd, and (2) Spaceship Earth I think is in the golf ball? If it is, dont waste a FP on it. I've never had a wait more than 10 minutes.

ETA: Once I've used my FP on the most popular ride first, the others were easy to move around as they weren't as popular.

I tried this scenario exactly, and I was not able to move Soarin' to an earlier time after we used the one for Character Spot, but in other parks I was able to move around most of my FP+ with the exception of 7DMT ad A&E.

That's exactly what we did. RD to TT, SE, CS, then killed time on The Land, and walked right in to Soarin'.

When we were there last month, the one "in the golf ball" was often a 30 minute wait standby late morning and during the afternoon. This was likely because so many people get FP for it, that it slows the standby line to a crawl. I think Spaceship Earth is the 2nd most important FP to get, after you pick Soarin or TestTrack.

I do like your idea about having the more popular ride as your first reserved FP, then moving the others. I always reserved Soarin 3rd, because I'm already doing it at rope drop, so I wanted to spread out the second ride to around noon.

Like someone else mentioned, it's going to take you more than 10 minutes to get out of Spaceship Earth. Supposedly they will accept FP returns up to 5 minutes early and 15 minutes late. You should be able to move FP up, but I would not count on it for a headliner like Soarin.

I tried to do exactly this in Epcot yesterday and couldn't. I could have moved to later times, but no earlier times were available.

I saw OP was going in third week of September - the crowds are so low at this time, I would be very surprised if SE had a 30 minute wait. My daughter calls it the golf ball, I've personally gone on it once in April 2011 where I've actually paid attention, and only did it again in September 2013 so I can take a quick nap in a slow moving air conditioned ride. LOL

I did this to great effect last October at Epcot. Got to the park at 2:30PM. Didn't have a ticket so no prebooking. Got Living with the Land, Seas and Spaceship Earth FPs from my Phone. Used land at 2:55 and was out by 3:10. Moved Seas FP to 3:10 and was done by 3:21. Moved Spaceship earth FP to 3:25 and was finished by 3:55 (with a little time to wander the aquarium between getting off Seas and actually going to use my Spaceship Earth FP). So that was 3 rides and a little wandering done in less than an hour using FP+.

Now I was 1 person and it was October so not that busy of a time but it was during food and wine and it was the weekend that Malestrom closed so the park wasn't completely empty. Overall the process saved me probably 30 mins.

It is a different "World" than the last time you rode SE.

There really isn't a time that the crowds are "so low" any longer, and SE does get 20-30 minute waits many days now because of FP+.

I think the posted wait times are over-exaggerated in many places SE being one of them - but that's just my opinion. =) But I was on :cloud9: just to get out of that heat/humidity. Place has awesome air conditioning.

We went the 1st week of May and did standby a lot. All of them were approximately 15min over the actual time. On BTMRR, I was given the red card that I believe is supposed to measure actual wait time. From time of receiving the card until handing it off and the CM scanning it, exactly 20min elapsed (posted 35min). When we exited the ride, the wait still said 35min.

SE (in the golf ball, love that by the way, I think of it the same) has notoriously been effected by FP+ and now quite regularly has a wait of over 30 mins.

We tried moving FP+ up on our trip last October at EPCOT and it was a disaster. Be very very careful if you are trying to do this from the MDE app. We found that out the hard way. We were hoping to get through our 3 quickly and maybe get a 4th for a TT. We rode Soarin with our FP+ then I got on MDE and attempted to move Nemo up. The app showed an earlier time as being available and was being assigned to the 3 of us. When I hit confirm it moved our FP+ to 6 HOURS LATER instead of the time it showed it was giving us. When I quickly tried to move it back, it showed me our original time was not available, so I marched myself over to a kiosk for help. They told me it was either an MDE glitch or someone else was trying to book it at the same time and just happened to hit confirm before I did. They could not fix it for me. All they could do was either set my FP+ to Captain EO almost immediately to let the hour burn quickly, or to get me a FP+ for Nemo that kicked in 2 hours AFTER our original FP+ that I had been trying to move earlier. You are safer going to a kiosk than using the app.

Also, another thing we found out the hard way is that you do NOT want to change attractions for a FP+ on MDE unless they have fixed the issues with that since our trip. If you are trying to change attractions on the app- it will appear that the attraction is available for your FP+ time, but it really probably isn't. What it is actually doing is showing you all the attractions where FP+ is available for the rest of the day. Then, when you hit confirm, it assigns you the first available time for the attraction you are switching to. So, for example say you have a 10:00 a.m. Splash Mountain FP+, but decide you would rather have something else. When you click to switch attractions, it might show you 7DMT is available and it will look like it will be switching it for the same time 10:00 a.m. FP+; however, when you hit confirm, you might find you have an 11:30 p.m. FP+ if that is the first and only time of day one is available. If you go to a kiosk, they can tell you exactly what is available when so you do not have any unpleasant surprises like we did.

You are talking about trying to move Soarin up. I would be particularly careful with that one on the app, as it is one of the 2 FP+ in the highest demand. It is hard to get Soarin or TT the day of, and if you mess with it and the app glitches, then you could totally lose it and be out of luck on Soarin.

We had other EPCOT days, and we tried to do either Soarin or TT FP+ when the park opened and then get things moved up as fast as possible to try to get a 4th for either Soarin or TT. We have never been able to pick up Soarin or TT as a 4th. We are not there in high crowd times either.

We were there last fall during a low crowd time and Figment was a 30 minute wait for most of the afternoon. Spaceship Earth was 30 minutes most of the morning, but it did go down a bit later in the day. We are used to walking on to those 2 rides with no lines at all. FP+ has definitely made it a different world in terms of standby lines.

Figment was posted as a 30 minute wait when we were there 2 weeks ago, but it was really a walk on. We walked in and right onto the ride.

For what your asking, it's a really easy process. Click manage FP's, change ride or time, then it'll show you a list of different times you could move it to.

Now moving them up is really up to how the crowds are. Highly unlikely that you'll be able to move up the big rides. But for the rest of the rides, you can generally move them up.

I do it all the time and have pretty good luck. We're normally a party of 4 so it's a lot easier than a big group. And you don't have to wait until your off the ride before you move the next ride up. Once you scan your FP at the second post on the ride, I go on my phone then to see if I can move the next one up. It's nice about to get on one ride and you've already moved the next FP up so its ready as soon as your off the ride with the previous FP

When we were there it was a true 30 minutes, the line was out the door. We had used our 3 FP+ in the morning, but had not gotten a 4th because nothing was available. DD really wanted to ride it, so we walked over to the kiosk, got FP+ for Figment that kicked in very quickly, shopped at Mousegears a few minutes and then went back over right when our FP time started and waited in line 5 minutes or less instead of 30.
