Tell me about your outdoor kitchen.........

We're trading up and the new TT has an outdoor kitchen. What do you pack in it? Any tips on what we should and should not keep in it versus the interior kitchen?

My trailer doesn't have a typical outdoor kitchen. I looked at one model that had one towards the rear with a big hinged swing up door. I didn't think I would like it. It was on the slide and wasn't under the awning. Then I saw my current model (pic)

As for what I put out there, Mine has a mini frig. I plan on just keeping waters and soda. (just bought this trailer in January) I have a tub (in the pic) on a shelf above where the grill slides in. I have propane cylinders, BBQ tools and table cloths in it. Not sure what else I may decide I 'need' out there.

Nice! I'm thinking that we'll do about the same thing. Planning to stock the fridge with drinks when we arrive. I plan on cooking some things outside that I wouldn't cook inside--bacon is first on the list!! LOL!!

Mine is on a Jayco 32BHDS and I love it for it's extra space and saving me from having to go in and out of the camper to get drinks, coffee, supplies for grilling, etc. My fridge is just the right width that the cola cartons will sit sideways inside the fridge so I don't have to put the can drinks in individually.

I can do most of my cooking outside and my camper doesn't smell like it for days and the heat from cooking doesn't keep the AC running constantly. I have space for the Keurig, napkins, aluminum foil, and a drawer to keep my grilling and cooking utensils in so I don't keep going in and out of the camper.

Also, I don't have to worry about bringing a cooler along, so I can use that space for bikes, ease ups, etc.

I won't buy another camper without one.

2) Except, there isn't ample room for enough Single Malt Scotch.

Like Ed, I keep the important things locked in the front compartment.

We have a Skyline Walkabout with the big outdoor kitchen. Won't buy another trailer without one. Big door acts as a awning. Ours is just over 6 foot wide. Perfect for a 6foot folding table. Got stuck with a table and no place to put it. Ended up being like it was made to go there. Bungy cords keep it tight and I was surprised to see it kept stuff from moving around.

Anyway, we cook outside as much as possible and with the table it's like having a large home kitchen. We tailgate at football games it is the bomb.

We stock it like a regular kitchen. That way I don't have to get anything from inside. Only thing I am thinking about changing is pulling the microwave and adding more cabinet space. I think we have used it once.

I like that taller cabinet over the sink. Does it have a stove or just the microwave. The reason I ask is that most designs either have the microwave or the stove, but I haven't run across any that had both around here.

The left hand drawer is a pull out two burner. Just a door under the sink, but perfect for bbq tools. Right hand is a regular drawer. Best part is there are two propane quick connects. One for the stove and a spare. A little research and I found quick connects for my big burner and our fire pit.

We'll have a fridge, a sink, counter space and some cabinets. I think it'll make for a nice setup when lining up the condiments for burgers and hot dogs! LOL! I hadn't thought about putting the Keurig out there--great idea! Gonna keep the fridge stocked with pop and water!

I LOVE having an outdoor kitchen. I'll try to get a pic this weekend while camping and come back on Monday to post it.

We keep drinks and extra condiments in the outside fridge, keeps from having to constantly go in and out like others said. I also keep my chocolate in the fridge for s'mores and then put the graham crackers and marshmellows in the cabinet. I keep an extra set of plates and silverware as well as salt and pepper in the cabinet. I used command hooks on the side wall to hold towels for wiping hands. In the drawer we keep our long forks for roasting marshmellows, hose for the grill to connect to the proprane, extra extension cord for the griddle for cooking bacon, the tablecloth we use on the outside table, and that's all I can think of for now.

One thing we do that I love is get a magnet from every new campground we stay in and put it on our outside fridge. I was so excited when I got to add my Fort magnet last winter.

One other thing with those mini-fridges, we had a problem with the door coming open so we put a childlock on it and that has worked wonderfully for keeping the door closed while driving. Here is what we ued:

Thanks! She's pretty popular at every campground we go to. Sometimes I get kids that I'd swear I never met going by on their bikes and calling "HI Daisy!" She's 130 pounds and thinks she's a lap dog lol. She's usually fluffier, she just got her summer cut recently.

I had a Rockwood with the best outside kitchen. I had 2 burner that pulled out very easy, nice size frig., the sink drained into the grey tank, cabinet w/ 3 shelves. 1 drawer. I kept 2nd set of cooking supplies, clean up articles etc I never cooked inside. The door opened up & was long & tall enough to keep the weather from not bothering the cook. Sure do miss it!! Grumpy Aggie wanted a 5thw. Could not find one that measured up to the Rock Wood. I like, Tigger Dad didn't like the cooking to linger into the camper. Oh well, it is what it is. lol
