Has anyone stayed at this hotel? Any info would be appreciated such as activities, restaurants, distance to Disney, etc. DH has convention at Orange Co. Convention Center Feb 12 -15, and I'm trying to sneak to WDW. Will my DS11 and DSF 12 be happy with this hotel choice? I'd love to stay at the Dolphin instead but can't see the $ for no more time than we'll have.

I used to work as a flight attendant for a major airline, and the Sheraton Safari was our main layover hotel. I stayed there once in October 2000.

The ambiance of this hotel is awesome, and your kids will love it, especially the courtyard area. It's completely done in a safari/jungle theme. The rooms (as I remember them) are a nice size, and the staff was very helpful and kind.

I wanted to stay at this hotel for our upcoming trip, but I found a better rate at a different hotel.

Your kids will love it! We stayed there in May of 2003. The pool is great. The rooms are pretty. Nicely themed!

I was fortunate to get Sheraton Safari for $37 on Priceline for 4 nights before Christmas. I normally don't bid on Priceline looking for a certain hotel, but when another poster stated she received this hotel for the exact dates I needed, I gave it a shot. We are looking forward to the pool and snake slide... and of
course the $500 extra in our pockets compared to staying on site at the Swan.

Princessmomma- What perameters did you choose for Priceline to get this hotel? Would it be a 3 star in Disney vicinity? I've never bid on priceline, but I would sure like to if I thought I could get this price. Thanks!

Yes, on Priceline it is one of about 9 different 3 star hotels that come up in the WDW zone.

Check out www.biddingfortravel.com scroll down to Florida/Orlando link and on the next screen you can click on another link that shows most of the hotels available in each zone.

Like I said another poster on bidding for travel received that hotel for my exact dates, so I was quite comfortable that I would get it. Some posters of BFT have stated that they have bid up to $60 for a 3 star after December 25th and they have had no luck.

Remember, Priceline charges your credit card immediately and there are no changes, cancellations or refunds allowed. So if you KNOW you are going and would be happy with any of the 9 hotels listed, then go for it. I have to admit, I was very nervous the first time I bid on Priceline, not knowing what you will get, but this is my 8th reservation and all have been great.
