We have a timeshare and are thinking of staying in the Poconos...a couple hours from Hershey, an hour away from Dorney Park..not too far from my brother's house...
But what else can we do there? We'll be bringing my kids (15, 11, 11) and also celebrating the twins birthdays there:) We've never stayed there before so we just need some ideas...we don't need to go somewhere everyday, we'll stick around the condo for a bit as well.
Thanks!!:thanks:

depends when you are going in the winter the skiing and tubing are great. There is a waterpark called Camelbeach there at camelback mountain. We like to go to bushkill falls-a hike in the mountains all around a waterfall, whitewater rafting is really fun there. We always stop at Callies candy kitchen for some chocolate and callies pretzel factory. The pocono cheesecake factory is there, really good cheesecake! I am sure there is more but can't recall, last time we went we stayed at great wolf lodge there and only left for cheesecake LOL...

Oh I remembered a few more..., there are also a lot of places to go horseback riding, golf, claws and paws animal park (though your kids are a little old for that), there is a cave, cavern place that was not really far away that we went to once, I seem to remember the name as crystal cave or something that was fun, there is also a factory outlet place a few minutes from camelback and right off route 80.

Great!! Thanks so much!

Don't know if your family is into it, but in Jim Thorpe there is a place called Squirmish. They have weekends where, one day you white water raft and one day you do paintball.

We went when my kids were about 15 & 17, give or take a couple years. Anyway, it was one of the better family vacations we ever took.

My parents moved there about 20 years ago from NJ. There is lot to do there. In addition to what everyone else said you can also hike the appalachian trail thru delaware water gap. There is also a place called the American Candle and you see them make and carve candles. On the weekends there is traffic so make sure you get where you want to go early. There is also Bushkill falls and a huge outdoor flea market in Marshall's Creek.

I believe it is called Tannersville.

Dorney Park in Allentown is not far. A park called Knoebles might be an hour away or so.

ohhhhhhhh I forgot about that flea market!! I used to go all the time years ago. Its the one right on route 209 right? What days is that open now, just the weekends right?? My family used to have a house in Marshalls creek. When I was younger I used to go with them to mountain manor golf course and go into the streams there to gather up all the golf ballsthat went in there and sell them! I always loved it up there, we camped a few times at otter lake camp ground. Up the road from that golf course was a waterfall, it was by a red house and a old lady owned it, you used to walk up her dirveway and her dogs would bark, she would come out, she was half blind, and charge you 50 cents to go walk up her driveway and down to the waterfall.
When we go to great wolf lodge my daughters favorite thing is to stop at the american candle factory and go into the candy room and just grab a empty bag and go wild filling it up for the vacation!
