Tell me about the Brown Derby...

We're planning on going to the Brown Derby sometime in October. What's good? I love seafood, DH hates it, and I have a huge sweettooth! Also, would it be appropriate to bring an infant for an early dinner?

Second question--what would be your choice for a special dinner in a park restaurant (NOT a resort restaurant)? We've never been to Brown Derby before, so that is why we picked it.

The Hollywood Brown Derby is fantastic! I highly recommend this:

Grilled Atlantic Salmon on soft mascarpone polenta with gorgonzola, balsamic glaze and Sicillan olive tapenade $24.00

It is delicious!!! Definitely appropriate for dinner with an infant... of course!

I think HBD is a good choice for a park restaurant, I also enjoyed Cinderella's Castle, the food isn't the greatest but the atmosphere and the service is outstanding. Most people here love Le Cellier (I didn't have a good experience there and thought the food was mediocre, so I don't agree, but you might). Les Chefs de France is a great restaurant too. Bistro de France is much nicer if you are looking for something really special.

HBD is great. We've eaten there several times and it's always been excellent. Also, our youngest is 10 months and he's been there twice, once at 5 mos and once at 9 mos. Have fun!

Le Cellier and Chefs are our "old stand-bys." Le Cellier would probably be my second choice, but I'd really like to try something new. We've never been to Cinderella's Castle, either.

My favorite thing at Brown Derby is an appetizer--scallop on pork belly. Sounds gross but if you love scallops, wow!!! This is my single most favorite Disney food. My DH always gets the cobb salad there. This place is also nice for a little more upscale but okay with children.

My favorite TS inside a park is Bisto Paris. However, I don't think it's as comfortable with an infant as Brown Derby will be. I think you made a perfect choice!

We have been to the Brown Derby 3 or 4 times and had a great experience every time. It is probably out favorite in-park restaurant. The fish and beef dishes have all been excellet and cooked just right. We also enjoy the Cobb Salad. All of the desserts are tasty too. We really enjoyed the flourless chocolate cake but it is very rich.

The MK restaurants are fun but we go for the atmosphere, not the quality of food.

In EPCOT we have enjoyed a lot of the World Showcase restaurants and would recommend - Le Cellier, Chefs de France the Japan restaurant (now being refurbished) - all would be fine with an infant. Bistro de Paris is wonderful but very pricy and not a place for little ones. We have had some good, some not so good meals at Rose & Crown and San Angel Inn, both are fine with little ones. The atmosphere in all of these was excellent. We have been pretty disappointed in 9 Dragons (if you've ever been to PF Chang's it is hundreds of times better than 9 Dragon's in my mind)

We will be eating at Brown Derby, Le Cellier and Chefs de France on our upcoming trip.

I have eaten there twice, once without kids. The second time with my 2 boys ages 2 and 4. As luck would have it they slept throught the entire meal. Both times the food was great. One of the special desserts is the grapefruit cake which I ordered both times.

I have had the swordfish and the salmon at HBD. Yummy. The sauce is amazing. My parents had the roast chicken. They said the really enjoyed it.

For us, a trip to WDW is not complete without a meal at Brown Derby. Cobb Salad and Key Lime Martinis.

Oh yeah, forgot about the key lime martinis!!!! However, the ones at Coral Reef are better because they coat the rim of the glass in graham cracker!!!

It's one of our must do's every trip. While the food is yummy we really love the atmosphere and overall feeling of the restaurant. It's a nice break in the day - you'd never know you were in a theme park.

My DW and I have dined at the HBD for dinner and lunch many times. It is our favorite in park restaurant both for the food and the atmosphere, especially if you get a booth.

We have not had a bad entree yet and the wine flight is very nice. The coffee (it's not Nescafe ) and desserts are very good, too. I can recommend the White Chocolate Banana Toffee Tower.
