Tell me about the Beast

We ate there exactly a week ago tonight.

Our reservation was at 4:30, we were sat about 4:40, and the Beast didn't show up for his first greeting until 5:00. At each of his entrances there is an announcement and he strolls through each of the dining areas to do a drive by wave to the Guests. We waited until one of his "announcements" to ensure he was out, then waited about 5 minutes before making our way to him. The line was short, only 3-4 families. I suspect it would have been longer had we not timed it the way we did.

When we arrived at the Study we were asked if our meal was done, and informed we could not reenter the dinning room after the photo. Our interaction was great, he bowed to my daughter and she practiced a little courtesy.

When did they change the costume??!! We were there mid month and had the original Beast? Is this for the movie?
He is not as wide. The jacket is different. So is the shirt.
The head is totally different including the teeth!

I don't like this one! What is up with the eyes??!!

Ok- one more post to say, I showed the new Beast to my kids (ages 9 and 11) and they both said- "eeeewwwwww, why are his eyes so creepy!!!!!??????"

We met the new beast last month and our interaction was excellent as well. Maybe the new costume gives him more freedom of movement and better vision. There was also a couple that got engaged while meeting the Beast and he made a big show of celebrating with them. It made it exciting for everyone in the room waiting.

I love his new eyes! At least he looks excited in the pictures! Nice, wide open baby blues.

That's interesting- we had the "old" Beast on the 16th and he was very interactive. We were there a few days before that- and that Beast was just there for the pictures! No interaction at all. But that was the same as a year ago too.
I had no idea they were changing the costume.

Talk about a "beast in the headlights" look. Sorry, not liking that at all. The costume does look more comfortable but it looks way less intimidating, very unbeast like

We had a 7:30 - desserts only and saw Beast with no line and were out by 8:15 to grab a spot. This was in the month of May. Good luck.

We have the new lego Beauty and the Beast castle and the beast lego guy looks much like the "new" Beast in these pictures.

Here is one of our pictures. I never saw him before so I can't really compare, but in person he didn't look creepy. It was a nice costume.

When we sat down we ordered our dessert and ask for our check at the same time and tipped him extra.

You cannot see Beast until you are all finished and you have paid. Once you see the Beast, you are to leave the restaurant.

Yep, that's how it's been when we have gone. We have seen the "old beast" three times. He can't autograph anything because of his paws. As others have said, there's not a lot of character interaction as the suit is probably very cumbersome.

Also not a fan of the "new beast" costume. His eyes look like he's bugging out!!
