We are thinking about using the miniature golf vouchers this upcoming trip (last week of March) on our arrival day. Looks like there are two locations. If you have been:
  • Which location did you go to and would you recommend it?
  • What were the crowds like? We'll be going at a very busy time and don't necessarily want to spend a lot of time waiting to play.
  • How did you get there from your Disney resort - car or Disney transport? I'm guessing we would have to go to DS or TTC.
Thanks in advance!

We really like the Winter-Summerland course. But, Fantasia Gardens is fun, too. Just seems that more people go there?

We typically get there just as they open and it has not been bad.

We use WDW transport. Bus to Blizzard Beach for Winter Summerland or get to Swan/Dolphin via boat from DHS and then walk to Fantasia Gardens (about a 7 minute stroll?).

We love the mini golf there...enjoy!

We love to play mini golf if we can work it into the plans. We prefer the Winter Summerland courses located next to Blizzard Beach. We usually have a car so just drive but you can take a bus to Blizzard Beach and then walk a small path to the mini golf courses. If you choose to do the Fantasia courses they are across from Swan & Dolphin so if you don't have a car you would need to talk a bus to a park or DS and transfer to a Swan/Dolphin bus and walk across the street.

We usually go in the morning when they first open so crowds not too bad.

Crowds shouldn't be too bad at the end of Marsh on the Mini Golf Courses. Summer is the worst! Winter summerland is fun but I think my favorite is fantasia gardens. If you're looking to go off site for some additional fun the pirate one at Crossroads is fun too. I know you can walk to Fantasia Gardens from Epcot. Take the blizzard beach bus for Winter summerland. Or its easy to drive if you have a car

1. We like Winter Summerland, but their both good. You'll need to decide which one appeals most to your family.
2. We've never had to wait more than a minute or two.
3. Nope - you cannot transfer at DS or the TTC. For Winter Summerland, you'll take the bus to Blizzard Beach. For Fantasia Gardens, you'll take the bus to DHS and walk to Fantasia Gardens.

Thank you, everyone! I think we will definitely work it into our arrival day plans since it's "free" and we haven't tried it before. I think I'll leave it up to the kids to pick which course we go to.

We did Fantasia Gardens and walked there from our resort (BWI) but it's an easy walk from HS as well. Honestly, I wasn't particularly impressed and my 5 year old found the holes too difficult to do very well. He got rather frustrated. I had assumed being so kid oriented it would have been an easier course. There was a wait to get onto the course of about 20 minutes and it was crowded enough it did feel a bit rushed. It was a very hot day and there was very little shade as well, so that didn't help.

The CMs were awesome though and they gave DS a Sorcerer Mickey golf ball and told him that there aren't many to go around so it was very special. He still has that ball sitting on his shelf and still thinks it was really cool that he got one.

What are the holes like? Mostly the same at each place or does one have more interactive ones than another?

I've only played Winter Summerland & really enjoyed it. I haven't played mini golf since I was a child (and am not a golfer) so I found it perfect for my limited skill level. I got a couple holes in one so that speaks to an easier course. I think it would also be a good fit for most kids. I loved the decor & each hole was a bit different. I went shortly after opening & just had to wait a few mins for the couple in front of me. I just jumped on the Blizzard Beach bus from my resort. I also used my free coupon & thought it was a fun way to spend an hr. I'd definitely do it again. Note: there was no direct bus to DIS Springs from Blizzard Beach.

Enjoyed Fantasia Gardens a little more AND...it's not that far of a walk from there to the Boardwalk or Beaches and Cream to get some good ice cream afterwards.

That being said, i think the "free" part is only good until 4:00 (could be wrong about that).

It's like regular golf, only smaller.

Ahh... but there IS a difference between miniature golf and PUTT-PUTT. I'm assuming these are the latter and wanted to know if these had things like volcanoes or lincolns swinging legs or more like the traditional putt-putt courses which just have some obstacles and hills. (I lived close to an actual miniature golf course which was an interesting experience. It really was like golf, only shorter. Except it was all in a wooded area with clearings and ponds for each "hole". :)

I've played both courses. With smaller kids (or those who don't play often or have never played), WinterSummerland is much easier. I've played Fantasia Gardens with other adults and it's a great course because it's a bit more challenging but it would be frustrating for young children. We live in a resort town, so we play as a family every couple of months; my husband had the low score of the day on one of the WS courses the last time we played there. Both are really cute, super themes, but which one would be better for your group would depend on who is playing.

Winter Summerland is easier than Fantasia but not a pure putt-putt. Some swinging features and timed putts. Not just banking & hills.

Winter Summerland is like your traditional Mini golf... Fun & a lil challenging..Nothing crazy.

Over @ Fantasia Gardens there are 2 separate courses... Big difference between these 2..
the Fantasia course is a traditional style course ( with walls and stuff & some obstacles ) while the Fairways course is a shrunken down version of Lake Buena Vista Golf course. * It doesn't require any additional clubs *(Putter only) but some of these holes can be upwards of 100 ft or so.. Some with rolling hills & baked turns & undulating areas....Also Keep in mind that this course doesn't have any boundary walls, so balls have a much greater chance of rolling off course....That's why it's much more frustrating for your average golfer, and also for that intermediate one as well..LoL Both are fun, but for kids definitely don't choose the Fairways....Just my $.02.

We think Fantasia Gardens feels sterile. It's concrete and not much shade. Felt smaller too.

Winter-Summerland is much more whimsical, silly and "pun"-ny. We laugh, sing and dance at W-S. We love it!

Winterland/Summerland is adorable and very fun! Mickey, Minnie, and the gang are throughout the course, and on some of the holes things will move, open, etc. when you hit your ball in. Lots of great photo opportunities! Fantasia is great too, but a much harder course.

We've done both and enjoyed both, but if you have kids and it's your first time doing Disney mini-golf I'd suggest WinterSummerland. As others have said, it's more whimsical, colorful, and it is easier. More things "move". We did the "easier" side at Fantasia Gardens and while our boys 10 & 13 had fun, I think a pp described it pretty good with the word sterile. Not all the holes, but definitely in many parts. And it's not as easy.

Both times we went to WinterSummerland were at opening so we got to start right away. At Fantasia we got there about an hour after opening the week of Thanksgiving and had to wait about 20 minutes. Not too bad but that might be more the case while you're there. Have fun!

I had no idea there was a distinction between the two words.
