Hubby thinks he would like to here because of the ribs. Do they serve lunch or just dinner? How is the food? Can you just eat or do you have to buy a ticket to the shows as well?

Renee

We have been to the one in Vegas. The shows are separate from the restaurant there. I imagine it's the same. We went to the Gospel Brunch, and I saw that they have that too.

The restaurant is totally seperate from the concert venue, and yes, they serve lunch. I've never had the ribs, but I've had the cajun chicken sandwich and it was delish! It would be a great place for you to try out. Have fun!

My son and I ate there in December and we both had burgers they were great!

I have never been to the House of Blues in Disney but I have been to the one in New Orleans many times. Concert venue is a separate building than the restaurant so no worries about that. The food to me is about the same calibar you would get at a T.G.I. Fridays - very "chain-ish". Not bad for a lunch in a pinch but not what I would call vacation food.

Actually... Hard Rock, PlanetHollywood, Rain Forest Cafe have similiar quality to the House of Blues. I would say skip it but that is merely MHO.

We have been to house of blues (hubby and I) many times alone, and with our 20 somethings. We find it quite enjoyable.

No one has ever had the ribs...we have had the shrimp po boys, soups, rosemary cornbread, hamburger, calamari, the specials they offer for the day....there is so much to choose from...we have never had a bad meal. Actually the burger is one of the best I have ever had anywhere.

We love the ribs at Rainforest cafe if they are still on the menu...otherwise...you can get the most outstanding ribs at Bahama Breeze...not far from the disney village marketplace (near of the grouping of three marriot resorts). Any cab driver would know exactly where you want to go if you don't have a car.

My wife & myself have eaten here 4 or 5 times and really like it. We have had there Jambalaya and meat loaf dinners and they are really good. We have also had burgers on many trips and always found them to be very good. If you go for dinner make sure you get an order of there Rosemary Cornbread, it is out of this world.

My family and I tried the Disney House of Blues in March. I was not impressed. I didn't think the decor was as nice as Hard Rock Cafe, Rain Forest Cafe or Planet Holiday -- however, food was similar.

I would sum it up as "Okay."

Now that we have tried it, we will not be returning as there are too many other places that we like better.

i don't know anything about the ribs, but we saw the Gospel Sunday Brunch in Boston (Cambridge) and loved it. It was a very nice way to spend a Sunday am. Good Luck

It is not gourmet but it is good solid New Orleans style food, with of course some standard American food too. A good place to grab a $10 burger for lunch! Fridays does not play blues over the sound system during the meal; HOB does!

House of Blues is one of my must visits when I'm at WDW or in Vegas. We don't have one near me so it is a treat for myself even though it is not as elegant as V&A.

The food is great, the atmosphere is fun and the service has always been excellant. Its great for a quick lunch when your shopping in DTD.;)

Haven't had ribs but been to the DW and Vegas venues. We like to sit on the outside patio (voodoo lounge or something like that) when they have a blues band and listen and have a drink and get something to eat. We find the food decent (but not fantastic). It's worth the trip for the decor', especially if you've never seen one.

We had the fried chicken salad and meatloaf last time we were at HOB and both were excellent. Service was good we went about 5:00 on a Thursday wiyhout PS and were seated in 5 minutes.:sunny: :earsboy:

We ate there last Tues night and had the ribs. They are twice-cooked or something so they aren't "fall off the bone" tender, you eat them off the bone like corn on the cob. Very flavorful and worth ordering, but we have a local place that serves the BEST RIBS IN ALL THE WORLD and the HoB's ribs were not in the same league. They were very good, though.
