Tell me about Disney Quest

What are your thoughts? Looking to add in some extras/different stuff for this year's trip. My boys (and husband) are gaming fanatics - me, not so much. I think they would really like Disney Quest, but I'm not looking forward to just a glorified Chuck-e-Cheese. Anybody got any personal experiences, good or bad, they'd like to share?

My boys (12 and 10 at last visit) and my husband loved DisneyQuest. Me - not so much. I went with them once and did a few things (the build-your-own roller coaster simulator for example) but I stayed at the resort and did laundry the second time they went. We had the Water Park & More option on our tickets and it was absolutely worth it as part of that.

Oh my...if you'd rather do laundry than go there, maybe I should rethink (haha...just kidding). That's kind of what I'm thinking. Maybe I'll go with them for awhile and then head over to do some shopping or to World Showcase. I've tried to emphasize this time that I want everyone to get to do what they want to do. I mean, we'll still spend lots of time together and do lots of things together, but there's no need in them following me around bored to death while I shop, or dragging a nine year old who doesn't like World Showcase around there for half a day when they could be doing something they would enjoy.

My kids and Husband really enjoy it. I dont like it much. But I dont like arcades and that alladins free the genie thing just gave me a headache. I wouldnt pay regular admission to it but as part of the WPAM option its a good deal.

We were just at Disney Quest. It is definitely NOT my favorite as I am not a gammer of any kind. However my three DS's (13,12 and 10) love it. There are just a few things I like there. Cyber Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean are two that I enjoyed. I don't know how old your boys are so I don't know if this is an option for you, but my husband and I spent a little over an hour at DQ with our boys and then we left to go enjoy a quiet lunch without kids at Wolfgang Puck Express and did some shopping. The kids spent several more hours at DQ and loved it! Kids can go without an adult when they are 10. I put my DS 13 'in charge' and gave him his room key so they could get some lunch. We did find out however that DQ doesn't have any QS options, they could only use snack credits.

Not my favourite place either but I always look forward to going there on each trip...once. I'd rather spend a day by myself at a water park reading a book than go again -- I'd just rather be outside. We have the WPF&M pass too, so it's worth it for us. I would never pay oop for me to go there though.

One floor of DQ has games for little kids that are the Chuck-E-Cheese type. I like the old fashioned pinball games and some of the interactive games. The food is ok-ish but there is definitely better outside DQ in other parts of DTD.

If you want to leave them early and take yourself shopping I'd say go for it.

I have gone many times over the years with my 2DS(13,15) and DH. Iagree that this is great for gamers and I do a few of the things, but a lot of times I'll frop them and shop at DTD. I also have hung out with them at the old arcade typ games, grabbed lunch,(past,burgers..)and definately we split a couple cupcakes, glazed almonds, etc.. on the upper floors. We always enjoy it. They have been going for many yrs/trips so as long as the boys aren't too young it should be fun.

I highly recommend Disney Quest for your "gamers!" My husband and son (who was 10 at the time) were like kids in a candy store! They especially liked the fact that they could finish this one particular game that they had only been able to get partially through at other venues because it would cost so much to keep feeding it through to completion.
The first time we spent over three hours, and I even found things I enjoyed doing, along with the things we could do together as a family. The second time we went (on the same trip), the guys spent another three hours, while I shopped DTD. And, this is something that they insist upon being in our itinerary for our next trip!

Anything for a 5 and 7 year old or are they 2 young?

LOL! The laundry had to get done so splitting up that way worked for us at the time...but definitely I would go shopping in DTD or whatever rather than sit around DQ. If you have WPF&M on your ticket then go in and check it out, but I would NOT pay OOP to go in there again myself. For hubby and the DSs, yes it would probably be worth it to pay OOP. But I'd spend the extra $15pp to get WPF&M and have so many more options!
