How does this counter service compare with other deluxe CS locations? We were at the Grand Floridian last year and were thoroughly impressed with Gasparilla Grill, both food-wise and service-wise. Can we expect the same at Captain Cook's when we stay at the Poly in Sept 2015? Can you still get Dole Whips and Tonga toast, or did that change with the new renovations?

Tonga Toast is available at Capt Cook's albeit without the fruit compote that you get with it at Kona's. Dole Whips are no longer available at Capt Cook's. They are sold at a separate walk-up location elsewhere at the Poly (the name escapes me at the moment). Overall, we like Capt Cook's. The menu has a few different options than the typical WDW CS place.

Definitely a nice variety of unique items at Captain Cook's. Not just basic burgers and chicken tenders. I'd probably pick it over any other counter service at the resorts.

The Aloha Pork Sandwich is SOOOO good!!! Served with housemade chips!

The location that serves Dole Whips at the Poly is called Pineapple Lanai.

Both Lou Mongello and the DIS did podcast reviews of the new Captain Cooks. Definitely give them a listen. They made me so excited to try the food there on our trip next year. I think they both mentioned that the pulled pork nachos were good. Also, some type of lo mein? I think Kevin and John said they really liked that.
