We are planning a trip for Feb 2014- my sister and I are running the princess half marathon. We are leaning toward staying at the beach club, but she mentioned it would be nice to have a 2br suite. I have heard of BCV but don't know anything about It, just that it is part of DVC. Is it even possible for non-members to stay there? There would be 7 of us - sis and her 12 yo dd, me, dh, and 3 ds's. Would a 2 br villa make sense, or are we better with 2 adjoining rooms at BC? Any info would be appreciated!

The villas are great but pricey and hard to come by. You might be better off with two rooms and request they be adjoining.

The 2 BR villas are wonderful. You get a full kitchen, living room, washer/dryer, master bedroom with a king bed, whirlpool bathtub in the master bath with a shower stall in the other part of the bathroom. The living room has a sofa bed that sleeps two. The second bedroom has either a queen bed and sofa bed that sleeps four, or two queen beds. You can either get a 2 br villa directly from Disney, just like you would reserve a normal hotel room, or you can rent points. There is a DVC forum that describes the process.

We've stayed in the BCV's three times and love them. They are convenient to Epcot and the buses, and right next to the BC, where you can enjoy the wonderful Storm Along Bay pool. :)

A 2 BR villa would make perfect sense in your case :) they're crazy expensive through Disney, but can be quite reasonable if you rent from a broker or from a DVC member. At that time a year a 2BR villa runs 48-55 points a night, and the cost to rent points runs around $13/point on average (more from a broker, less from a private individual)

There is limited availability, and you are approaching the 7 month window for owners of other DVC resorts is quickly approaching.

We are here now and LOVE it! It's a hike to the feature pool, but there is a quiet pool right by the villas, you're a 5 minute walk to Epcot, and the kitchenette (in your case it would be a full kitchen) has been indispensable.

We stayed in one last Oct and it was great! I was worried that they would look old since I think it's been awhile since they've been refurbished.

Our villa was beautiful and super clean- loved it! It was a dedicated 2 b/r. Mousekeeping was awesome there.

And I got it with a discount during Food & Wine Festival. I just checked just about every day and as soon as they popped up online I grabbed it.

I've owned BCV since they were built and have stayed many times.

There are only limited 2 bedrooms that have 2 beds in the second bedroom-most have a queen and sleeper. The "dedicated" 2 bedrooms with 2 beds are booked at the 11 month mark by members and are much harder to get.

The sleeper sofas are not that comfortable. Depending on the age of the children, they should be ok. Nobody in my family likes sleeping on them.

I love BCV, both the resort and location.

BCV is my favorite DVC resort, we love everything about it...we want to own points there some day (we are DVC members). A 2bdrm would be enough for your group, but like others have said they are expensive and hard to come by (depending on the time of year you are going). You may want to check out the DVC forums, under DVC resorts, there is a ton of information about BCV over there. Also, you may want to look into renting points from a DVC member who owns BCV points, it would be much cheaper then to book a 2bdrm through CRO, we have never personally done this but have read posts from many DISers talking about how great it is. Have a great trip.

If you stay at the BC, you will still have to take the bus to the race start from the BC. And the bus back, unless you have park admission to walk through Epcot. Epcot is closed when the race starts and it starts outside Epcot in the parking lot. It finishes in the parking lot as well.
