this isn't a comp for a bad situation, but it was extra special treatment from the management anyway. On our last trip (first time trying out VWL) we found a parkhopper ticket in the parking lot of AK on our first day. My husband turned it into the front desk, not knowing if it was still active or what. It turned out it still had 3 days left on it and the CM thanked my husband for turning it in and we went on our merry way.
On our last full day there, we came back to our room to find a goody basket there with some really great goodies in it and a note from the front desk manager offering this token of thanks for our honesty in turning in the ticket. I was really surprised, especially since my husband hadn't given our name or room number. God only knows how they managed to track us down but they did! Of course we hadn't turned in the ticket expecting compensation but it was really nice to be thanked that way nonetheless.
On the same trip we ate at Artist Point. We ordered an appetizer expecting it to be small but it was a HUGE serving. By the time we finished it neither of us were THAT hungry and my husband didn't really care for his main meal (but if he was hungrier he probably would've eaten more). It's not that it was bad or badly prepared, we just enjoy trying new things and this one just wasn't something either of us liked. Anyway, the waitress took note of my husband's lack of enthusiasm and when she brought the bill explained that since he barely touched it, she took it off the bill. We didn't complain because making a bad choice isn't THEIR fault and we were actually a little flustered about having it taken off the bill.

"You employ stone, wood, and concrete, and with these materials you build house and palaces. That is construction. Ingenuity is at work. But suddenly, you touch my heart, you do me good. I am happy and I say 'This is beautiful.' That is architecture. Art enters in."
