Tell me a bit about WCC

Hi Everyone!
I just booked with the free dining package for August. Its just my best friend and I..no kids this time=not so many Character Meals (but of course Chef Mickeys!)
Tell me a little about Whispering Canyon.. Would two adults enjoy it? How is the food? Any pictures of food? I see it says "ALL YOU CAN EAT SKILLETS" How does that work? What is the best way to get get there?

My BF is a little picky when it comes to food, usually buffets are the best for her so she has more choices (and usually ends up eating Mickey Pizza)...

I have been the past 4 years, with my DS9, we like it, going again this year. I really like the atmosphere, food is good, we ALWAYS get the skillet, and it is unlimited refils for anything in it.

What is the best way to get there? Depends . . . Where are you staying? What time is your ressie?

The skillet is ohhhh so good.. and we love the bottomless milkshakes which you can get on the dining plan and try different flavors

We can't wait to go. This will be our 1st time going in Sept. I am dying for the skillet!!!

Do you guys know if they kids can order the skillet with the DDP??

We just tried this restaurant in April and loved it. You should know that the "atmosphere" of the restaurant is the antithesis of fine dining! When we were seated, the waitress threw our napkins and straws at us. When my brother drank his soda rather quickly, they brought him TWO LITERS of soda in the largest Bell jar I have ever seen and a straw! They joke around a lot there.

Someone told me that you should order ketchup when you get there...and I can only guess why...

We were there for breakfast this morning and had a great time. My daughter asked for ketchup for her eggs and we wound up with 20+ bottles. Servers were very funny and the food was very good.

We ate there last week for dinner. It is very loud but a lot of fun. The food was plentiful and great!

We love the atmosphere. It is a must eat for us on every trip. We have always gotten the skillet and bottomless shakes.

I forgot to mention that we asked for seconds on a few of the items and the waiter brought out a whole new skillet. I said something about how much food it was and he said no problem, we have boxes! They actually wrapped up 2 large boxes of food. We were there very late at closing, so that may have had something to do with being able to take skillet food with us.

Something similar happened to my wife and I on a trip a few years ago. We both finished our rather large drinks (the HUGE glasses you're talking about), and our server came by and saw our empties. She pulled up an empty chair, stood in it and made this loud announcement:

"Your attention please! These 2 fine folks here just drank these 2 huge glasses of coke. And now they're getting refills. So later tonight, if you see them in the pool, swim the other direction!"

We laughed our &$(#@ off!

It's a fun place to eat, but it can get kind of loud. If you're looking for a subdued atmosphere, this ain't the place!

I am so hoping that the servers are full of life the night we go for dinner. I haven't told the kids that I am taking anything so naturally I will be egging them on

I am sooo excited about this place. We have reservations there on the 18th of June. Hope the kiddies like it!
