Yup, I've been scammed again. I know some of you might think I'm some sort of scrooge because I always advocate trading, and don't think much of folks with their VMK hand out looking for freebies. But, to be fair, I am always willing to work with the person that wants an item I have, giving them lots of options and the ability to 'clean out their closet' so to speak. I always only ask for buyable things. But I never ask for teleporters.
I've been playing VMK long enough to know not to trade for teleporters, but I was trying to be nice, so I did. I traded a pair of gold ears for a hippo rug and a set of coffin teleporters. A very good trade from my stand point and i was more than happy with it. I would have preferred something other than teleporters but I got the standard "That's all I have". And then he added a second pair of teleporters. So I'm trying to be nice this poor kid (yeah, well who knows, I just always assume everyone I trade with the first time is an 8 yr old) who really, really, plz, wants the gold ears. I ask him if they link and he says yes. I ask him if they don't link, can I come find him and will he fix it. Again he says yes. So, I make the trade. I set down the teleporters in one of my rooms. Two go nowhere, and two go to one of his other rooms. So, I'm thinking, 'Oh an honest mistake. He picked up two of the wrong teleporters.' That's when I discover he is no longer on my friends list. No problem. I search his name. Great luck! He is in one of his rooms. I go in say hi and BOOT. I wait and try again in a few minutes. He is in a different one of his rooms wearing his new gold ears and I type "the teleporters don't work" BOOT!
So, I no longer think it was an honest mistake. I know better than to trade for teleporters unless of course I am trading with Dis people
I still believe in trading, though. I've gotten some great and unusual things in trades. And I do believe that most of us have been on VMK long enough to have stuff to trade. Try it, you might like it.
Just go buy the teleporters!
