This is a rather unusual question-but I have seen such a wide variety of topics on these list-serves I thought I would ask anyway. We are heading to Disney for our first family trip Dec 8. I just bought our park hoppper passes and was amazed at how small they were-I have already had to take them out of my 1 yo mouth as she was chewing on them.-a 200$ snack, great.

So, now they are in a safer place, but how do people take good care of them for the whole length of stay-how do you not lose such a little piece of paper or how do they not get torn when you are on the rides etc. Does anyone photocopy them? (would that make a difference?) I am just trying to troubleshoot a little, as I know we are notorious for losing things.
thanks for any advice

We always photocopy them so they can be replaced if lost. Also, we have these great neck wallets we use on vacation. We keep our id, credit cards and tickets in them and they hang around our neck under our shirts. They are so handy! This way your tickets cannot get bent or lost.

Truly they look like paper but are a little more durable than that. I got our neckwallets at Office depot back with the luggage tags for $3.99. We like the ones that hang long-ways and are called ID/Badge Holders. They are black heavy duty fabric and have a see through window on one side, a zipper pocket on the others and another pocket in between.

If you got Park Hoppers, you definitely want to photocopy the backs. That's the only way you can get them replaced if you loose them.

If you have Annual Passes, you don't have to worry since these have your name on it and all you'll need is your ID to replace them.

In both cases, a lot of folks have used clear plastic card holders attached to a lanyard to keep them safe.

Even though they look like paper, they are actually a Mylar material that is very hard to tear or damage.
So, if you can keep your daughter from eating them, they should stay in pretty good shape.

Get a lanyard to put them in, they are water proof too. I put mine in my wallet, my DD puts hers in her lanyard. When the kids were little my DH would take care of them in his pouch.

Walking around all day, with stuff in your pockets can get bulky, not to mention your pulling your pants up all day, LOL.

We found a nice fanny pack at Wal Mart, 4.99, that has a little section in it for IDs, tickets, etc. It also had a separate little section for money too.

We put all our tickets, reservation numbers, etc. in our Passporter ( www.passporter.com ) and then daily emptied out that days tickets into the fanny pack. Passporters are fantastic and worth every penny (approx 20.00)

Good Luck and Have Fun!!

I use a lanyard w/a card holder, too. I keep my room key, my PAP and my fastpasses in it so I don't have to dig through my bag or wallet to find them. -Stephanie

I must say that's a comment I've never heard before. I never thought of the Disney passes as being small. They are made about the size of a credit card or your room key card. That way, you can keep them safe in your wallet or purse along with your other important cards. I carry ours in my wallet and have never had a problem with them getting damaged or lost. Actually, if they made them bigger than credit cards, that would be more of a problem in my mind because they wouldn't fit in a wallet.

you'd think that plastic would be better, like a credit card.

They only need to last a few days. Not really any reason to waste the money for plastic ones.

HUH?!?!? PAPER?? We bought 9 total park-hopper tickets at 2 different Disney stores in Indiana before our recent October trip, and all of them were plastic! They were the size and feel of a credit card...

Same thing for the trip we took last year, too!

The only way you get a plastic card is if you either buy from the Disney Store, or if you buy a UPH or some other ticket from your hotel front desk, in which case it will be encoded on your room key.

All the other passes are a mylar material that's virtually impossible to rip. (I've tried)

I'm not familar with these.. can you buy them anywhere? Do you mean the neck ones that kids where? I feel pretty dumb right now!! We don't have any kids to enlighten us!!!! Help!

You can get the neck pouches from Wal-Mart for $.97/each; look in the area around the sunglasses and wallets.

DH used to carry his hopper in his wallet, but sometimes he actually would sweat so much that the contents of the wallet would end up damp. Damp Tyvek hoppers are not stiff enough to work in a FastPass machine. Also, I don't want to take out my wallet every time I need to get a FastPass; the neck lanyard works much better for me now.

I will check there next time I go to Wal-Mart... which definitely WON'T be tomorrow (Friday!) YIKES.. I'm not caught dead in a store on that morning.. we still have a few days till we leave, and I'm sure I'll need something else!

Thanks again for the enlightenment!

We bought ours on-line from the Disney website, and they were all plastic like credit cards.

Just keep a copy of the tickets or just write down the numbers on the back. That is all you need to replace them. You might even want to leave a copy with someone back home that you could call from a park if they were lost. One of you can carry the actual tickets, and one can carry a small piece of paper with the numbers on it. I didn't know they were so easy to replace and one time I kind of freaked out when I realized that I was carrying around $2500 in premium annual passes!
