Teens and Christmas party

We've visited WDW several times in the past few years, but this will be our first December trip. My kids, ages 11 & 13, love the rides and overall atmosphere, but aren't "awed" anymore with Mickey, etc.

Would you recommend attending the Christmas Party? We will be there a week, so they will have time to do everything else they want. Anyone with early teens have thoughts?

Since there are a limited number of tickets sold for the Christmas Party, lines tend to be shorter. - I believe going in mid week is better than the week (less locals attending).

I love the Christmas decoration, shows etc. DH loves the rides. We'll split up this year, as we are with couples who have similar likes and dislikes.
