Teen Mom

Ryan's parents are great people, but they need to grow a backbone when it comes to their son. Looks like Ryan is their only child, but at this rate that 19 year old boy will soon be a 30 year old man still lounging on their couch. Its a shame. Ryan has a great support system, he just doesn't have the sense to want more for himself and his child. My hubby and I were homeowners before we were able to buy alcohol, so IMO there's NO excuse why he can't get off his butt and make a life for himself and Bentley.

I totally agree, I think Ryan parents need to tell him to grow up and get his own place and a job

Does anyone else think that Debrah is way too controlling? It seems like all along she has wanted to raise Sophia, and she is almost obsessed with her. Refers to her as "her baby", etc. Debrah doesn't really let Farrah be the parent and is always interfering and thinks that she could do it better. I can't believe Farrah actually left Sophia.... WOW

And for a chef, that birthday cake wasn't very impressive!

I do feel bad for Farrah, because it seems like she doesn't have many friends, and I really do think she needs to get away from her parents. I just think she should have brought Sophia with her....

That is just not how it works...and what does being a stepmom have to do with it? Before I had sole custody of my son my ex and I had shared custody and he paid child support.I AM a stepmom and my dh has joint custody and he pay child support every month with no complaint.

That isn't always how it works. I know several people with 50/50 custody and neither pays support. In fact, I know people who have sought 50/50 custody simply to STOP paying support.

I think part of Ryan's problem is he's still hung up on Maci, but she seems to have totally moved on.

I'm not totally convinced that Maci is 100% over Ryan herself. With her desire to "get married", I could see her jumping at the chance to have her "little family" with Ryan. Or, probably, with any man?

Nope, I don't have any sympathy for Farrah, It's always about Farrah. What Farrah wants what Farrah needs.

The best thing Farrah has ever done was let Deborah and Michael keep Sophia while she gets settled. Kids need to be stable not being drug around all over the country. I have a feeling that Farrah moved to FL not for cooking school but to have fun. FL isn't really know for there cooking schools lol

I think Farrah and Debrah are both nuts. Debrah is overbearing and Farrah is a disrespectful snot. To me she treats Sophia more like her doll than her child.

Yes and we can tell that Michael doesn't have a pair either, he isn't the head of the household. and if my dd was calling her dad by his first name let alone shut the blank up, I myself would nip that in the bud if he didn't.

As far as Farrah leaving Sophia with her mom and dad, I think that is brilliant. I don't think she is at all prepared to traipse down to FL alone with that baby and care for her alone. She would end up stressed out and the baby would get the brunt of it. I have been watching this season with wonder at how different Debra is acting; she's on some really good meds or she's getting some excellent therapy sessions! There is a lot of hurt and issues in that family and it seems like the adults are trying to work through it now. I don't know how Farrah ended up being so controlling and rude to her parents, but hopefully she will mature and get over herself soon. The sister doesn't seem to be in the picture much, is she camera shy or staying away from her family for a different reason?

Maci- the girl is acting pathetic and needy. I couldn't figure out why she was making such an issue out of nothing with Ryan and the pick up and drop off of Bently . It's none of her business what Ryan does with him if he is safe and happy :confused3. Who cares if he is home asleep with his grandparents monitoring him while Ryan goes out? Ryan may be a lazy idiot with no goals, but he would not put that baby in harms way and Maci knows that. How about the impact of her bringing Kyle into her home? If that little guy gets attached to him and then they break up and never do get married, what kind of impact is that going to have on him? Much more than being left home to sleep while Ryan goes out with his pals. Maci needs to get a clue. If Maci actually gets a degree I will be very impressed, her academic ability/drive is severely lacking. In my state Ryan could make a stink about her having Kyle living with them, or even spending the night if he had a problem with it.

Caitlyn- Those two kids should have never given up their baby, their family still can't accept it and it seems they haven't come to terms with it either. I honestly think that Tyler would have made a great teen dad if they had kept her. Is Nick Butch's kid? Why did he call him Butch? Those kids are both so sensitive, I feel bad that they have grown up with such horrible disfunction :(.

Amber- What is wrong with Amber's mom? Does she have a speech impediment or is that residual effects of drug abuse? She seems like a dim light bulb. Gary needs to stop barking up the wrong tree and get on with life. Leah is a dollbaby, wish she didn't have such a wretched mother.

ok....here in Florida 50/50 does not get someone out of child support,it goes off of income, whoever makes more evens it out with child support.I got it with 50/50 and still get it with 100% custody. My dh pays CS AND has dss 50/50 with shared custody AND pays health care and ALL drs visits (that one because she doesnt take him to dr at all) .Its all in the CS guidelines for Florida unless you make a deal for both not to pay.I am sure all states have their own rules.
Also as far as Ryan going to court to get 50/50 custody I dont see it,he had a chance to go to court and chose not to,he has no custody as of now on paper, she is right,it IS all her choice because he has never bothered to get anything in a court order...makes me think there is a reason he does not want a judge to make the decision, its not as if his parents dont have the money for a atty.

While I think they would have both would have made great parents and will in the future, the "disfunction" is the key reason they didn't keep her. Can you imagine their little girl being around all that chaos?? They also would have most likely not finished school. In my opinion, they made the right decision.

Nick isn't Butch's, he's April's and some other guy from before she got together with Butch.

Farrah apparently calls her dad Michael because her sister, who is not Michael's biological child, called him 'Michael' and Farrah, a baby at the time, copied her. I have a problem with nearly everything Farrah does and says but that one I give her a pass on, she's apparently not doing it to be snotty. Which would make it like the only thing in that category in her life, but still.

This makes sense. I never knew the sister was a half-sister. Was Debra a teen mom too?

I'm guessing prescription drugs or alcohol. She's always high or drunk.

I saw a picture of Gary's new "Amber" tattoo on his back that he got a couple weeks ago in an article, and it also said then just last weekend he was on twitter saying this about her cheating on him:

He tweeted on Saturday, “I’m completely through w amber No more back n fourth sh**. I got my precious baby u got your precious anderson men hope your sins r worth it.”

He added minutes later, “Moving on I’m bout to kick it with honors with my last night til I get Leah back from grandmas. Thank u mom for everything.” And the very next day, he made sure to tweet about a date: “I got a date tonight. With a girl in Indy… Where to take her?”

Gary also added on Sunday, “Hard to turn u away today, hearing u cry was hard but your actions were terrible and this time there was no reason for what u did. No love.”

Ugh. So much chaos over and over, I always feel so sorry for baby Leah. :guilty:

Though after reading this article from the court proceedings last December that included how much $$$ Amber makes, I don't think he'll ever really leave her :

Earlier in the day, Portwood appeared before Madison County magistrate Steven Clase via a video feed from the jail for her initial hearing.

During the hearing, Portwood told Clase her occupation was a “television personality” and he asked her to reveal her annual income.

Her attorney, Kathleen Sweeney, responded, “I object.”

“You what?” Clase asked Sweeney.

Sweeney questioned the relevance of the question and Clase promptly overruled the objection, forcing Portwood to reveal that she makes $140,000 for a six-month contract with MTV.

If she works the entire year, Portwood said, the 20-year-old makes $280,000 annually

Thought I'd add this for those who watched the first season of 16 and Pregnant also :cutie:

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. — A couple featured on the first season of the MTV reality show "16 and Pregnant" have lost their child to the state and face criminal charges after officers serving a search warrant found their home was filled with feces, flies and maggots, police said Thursday.

Joshua Rendon and Ebony Jackson-Rendon, now both 19, were charged Tuesday after the search of their home at the Little Rock Air Force Base. The Arkansas Department of Human Services took custody of their 2-year-old child, who was born while the TV show was taping. Rendon is a member of the Air Force.

They face felony charges of maintaining a drug premises and unauthorized use of another's property to facilitate a crime. They're also charged with misdemeanor child endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

Officers obtained the search warrant after being called in by base officials.

Jacksonville police Capt. Kenny Boyd said officers found one gram of synthetic marijuana, empty packaging and pipes allegedly used to smoke the controlled substance.

Boyd also said the home was in "deplorable" condition. Human and animal feces were on the floors and walls in each room, and animal control officers took away three dogs that were kept inside, Boyd said. The house was full of flies, with collections of maggots in a number of areas, he said.

Rendon said over the phone Thursday that "it's not in our best interest" to talk about the case.

MTV confirmed they were the same teenagers who appeared on "16 and Pregnant."

Rendon's desire to join the Air Force was an element in the show. He and Jackson-Rendon lived in Colorado Springs, Colo., which is home to the Air Force Academy. An MTV bio calls Jackson-Rendon a "military brat," who lived with her mother but spent most of her time with Rendon, who was her fiance at the time.

They both had planned to enlist in the Air Force, but a recruiter told them only one of them could because Jackson-Rendon was pregnant.

A court appearance for them is scheduled for Oct. 6, when they may enter a plea. Both are free on $8,000 bond, Boyd said. Neither had an attorney listed.

Adam and Jo and Ryan they are loser. They are hotheads I loved how when Dr. Drew asked if they were dating they were all like nope, just hooking up. AGH
What kind of teenaged girl finds that attractive?

Sooooo true.
I also get the idea that his parents especially his dad wants Ryan back with Maci.
Well, that's one of the fantasies in which so many people believe: Mom and Dad'll get back together, and life'll be perfect. Kids believe it, the parents themselves believe it, no surprise that their parents believe it too.

Even when it's clearly never going to happen, people buy into these fantasies -- for years. It's right up there with the idea that the teens can raise a baby while maintaining a full social life and pursuing higher education and working a part-time job. Yeah, a few people will manage to make these things happen, but for the vast majority, they're not going to happen.
I think Farrah and Debrah are both nuts. Debrah is overbearing and Farrah is a disrespectful snot. To me she treats Sophia more like her doll than her child.
A good summary.

I saw the dad's reunion show today and it was crazy. Dr. Drew forgot to ask the important questions-like who was in trouble with the law since we last saw them, who could pass a drug test if needed, who had a job and was able to support themself much less a child, who was in school etc. etc. etc. I was shocked that they ALL agreed that they didn't care what people said/posted about them because it didn't matter. Maybe Dr. Drew should of pointed out that it was odd that not one of them cared-interesting common thread in my opinion. Maybe it should occur to them they might want to at least think about it now and then. I feel so bad for the children involved here-what are they taking away from all this???? Tyler seemd to be the only adult in that hot mess of teen dads! It does seem as if Gary is making some progress but I thought his affect/lack of eye contact was concerning. Joe and Ryan seemed to say some of the "right" things, but not as if they were really meaning it-almost as if they were coached. Please don't think I am down on just the dads-Dr. Drew should ask the mom's the same questions. Each and every parent in that show should be held accountable for their decisions. No excuses. If you have money for "extra's"-new cars, drugs, alchohol, cigs,dates-you really should make sure your childs needs are being met first and you are doing the right thing (education) to provide for their future.

Farrah's sister is living the life Farrah wants. She's out of the house; I assume she has an education because that seems important to the family; she's away from her shrewish, controlling mother; but she's still connected to the family on her own terms. Farrah could've had that life too -- if she hadn't had Sophia so young -- but now she desperately needs her parents help. She's said repeatedly that she has no friends her own age; she just has her mom. Like it or not, she's tethered herself to them, and she can't get out and have the independent life her sister has.

I don't think Caitlyn and Tyler would be any better parents than the rest of the group -- not if they'd kept Carly at their young age. They're growing up into decent adults BECAUSE they've had time to be teenagers, to finish high school, and to get out on their own. If they'd been raising the child, they'd look just like the rest of the pack. They made the right decision.

I'd almost bet that if Caitlyn and Tyler would have kept the baby they would have been the worst off, Can you image how bad April and Butch would have been
