Teen Mom

She said she had 8 credits. If she were talking about her current semester, she wouldn't have had them yet, she'd have been taking them and as we saw, she again dropped everything.

Her first semester, when she was living with her parents, she dropped all her classes because she was too "busy" with Bentley, though she was living at home with her and Ryan's parents willing to babysit and Ryan himself there.

Then she tried online classes and dropped those because... of Bentley.

Then recently we saw her get last semester's grades - she had taken four classes and failed two (like F failed, so no credits there). This semester, she just dropped everything - again. Again blaming Bentley though she now has no job, the four grandparents, Ryan with custody 2-3 days per week and unemployed Kyle sitting around. How Maci is not able to manage community college - and remedial classes at that, as we've seen - is beyond me.

Maci is, as Ryan said when she dropped the first semester, lazy as ____. I thought he was being unfair at the time, now I see he knew her well.

She sits around doing nothing but fawning after her bf. Neither of them can even be bothered to cook - we've seen them feeding that kid those frozen peanut butter and jelly things that continue to amaze me with their existance, and toaster french toast. They can't be bothered to do anything with the kid - this episode she was all 'oh mah gawd Bentley, you peed your pants!' then busted out 'is that why you were saying pee pee before?' Way to potty train. Also good job on breaking him of the pacifier habit. They can't be bothered to get jobs, and when Bentley went to Ryan's this past episode, Maci's reaction to his leaving was that she was bored and "this is stupid," now that he wasn't there. Gee, Maci, I have several ideas of how you might cure your boredom - get off your orange butt and do something!

Ryan didn't have a job because he was laid off from his previous job and was unemployed for a period of time. When they were first on 16&, Ryan had a good job, he was sent for an out-of-state training seminar by his employer, his own apartment, his own vehicle, etc. Maci moved into his place.

He was laid off. Presumably he's been looking for a job as he found one and started a couple months ago (in show time). Maci did office work for her father and bartended for a hot minute and since then, she's sat around. She has no room to talk about Ryan, imo.

As for the couch thing, I think Bentley naps there, not sleeps there in general.

Ryan protested her taking Bentley twice, for extended periods, once by the car and once at the party. When she would not stop and eventually just said she'd take him regardless, Ryan gave up and walked off.

Judges can absolutely dictate that parents can't live with a non-spousal partner, yep. Given Maci's behaviour (the running off to chase Kyle with no notice), it'd seem fairly likely Ryan could get it added.

Are you kidding me? How in the world would Ryan even have the right to even think that (as even if it were true, I don't think anyone should ever say that to someone.) She's been Bentley's sole provider his entire life. Do you not remember how horrible Ryan was when they lived together? He did absolutely NOTHING for Bentley. Not to mention, that Ryan certainly has never gone to college, so I'd say that's being lazier than someone who at least started. At the time he said that, he had NO job (apparently now, has only held one for 2 months...what the heck was he doing with all his time of doing nothing before that??) Plus, Ryan still lives at home with his mommy and daddy, so they can pay all his bills, and take care of his kid, when his kid is around. Give me a break, Ryan of all ppl., is that last person that should ever think someone else is lazy. By the way I'm pretty sure Ryan's "good job," had something to do with his Dad, and how long did he actually work for that company? If I recall correctly, it didn't seem like for very long. I was also under the assumption that Maci didn't move in to Ryans apartment, but that they got the apartment together, and I thought his parents got him that truck? Even if I'm incorrect, Maci obviously has a place and vehicle of her own as well. I'd bet my money that Maci has worked for a longer period of time in her life than Ryan, even though I'm not sure if she has a job right now.

Maci moved into Ryan's apartment. He'd had the job a while and it seemed like it was a serious job, they sent him on that seminar and he'd travelled for work other times as well in their original episode.

I believe he has some degree or other and his job wasn't from his father, that was Maci's job.

As for her being the sole provider, that's never been the case - she lived with her parents, who supported her and helped her look after Bentley after she left Ryan's apartment.

She wasted their money for one semester's worth and I don't know whose money for two more and has a whopping 8 credits to show for nearly two years in community college. She had no financial worried (as her parents supported her AND she had Ryan paying support), housing and built-in babysitting. And still, she can't be bothered to finish a single semester's worth of classes or get off her orange butt and get a job. Last semester she had four classes and failed two, but managed to pack in boyfriend drama.

We just saw her sit and say she was bored when Bentley left, the same day she decided to drop another semester's worth of classes. Lazy as _____ and useless as heck.

Finally, I felt I was all alone on the dislike Maci train. I mean even her parents are questioning her these days. Her mom looks none too happy with her decisions. I am just glad that the days of her good edit are over.

While I am no Ryan fan, he has stepped up these last few years and Bently seems to love him.

I wish someone would save poor Leah. My DD saw her and Gary and Jordan the other night at Payless Grocery store. She said she is much bigger now than she was in the current shows. After seeing Ambers mom this week, we know where Amber gets her lack of personality from. The only one that seems to really care about Leah is Garys mom. Even Gary is pretty worthless these days. Come on, spending 11 hours and $5,000 in strip club in Miami???? Going to Broadripple the night before Leahs birthday instead of cleaning up for her party?

Did you ever think you would see Farrah become the best mom on this show? She finished school, has held a job and Sophia seems to be the only one potty trained at this point.

Did you see the clip of leah picking up condom wrappers on the floor of the living room and playing with them? It was just for a second and no one said anything about it. Gross.

Thanks Cornflake. I honestly thought say a parent dies, it's pretty much an automatic thing for the kid to get it. And that honestly stinks considering she wasn't born yet.

Derek was only 18yrs old when he died, could he have really worked enough credits to provide death benefits for dependents? I mean, I guess he must have if there was even a question her receiving them and SS addressed it, I was just curious how a kid could have worked on the books that much.

I couldn't believe that! :headache:

I saw that and was like eeww really you can't put those in a drawer or something?

That's not totally true. Maci didn't ask Ryan if she could have 2 hrs. with him on Halloween, on Halloween. She brought it up to him days before that, and the only reason he told her no was because she wouldn't let him cancel her plans on Bently's b-day. I thought Maci was more than generous in telling Ryan he could go to the aquarium with them on his b-day. If Ryan wanted to take Bently for part of his b-day, than he should've said something before the actual day, not call the morning of, and expect that they would just changed any plans they had that day around for him on the spur of the moment. That's why Maci told him no, and then was nice enough ask him if he wanted to join them. Ryan needs to learn the whole world doesn't revolve around him, and he can't expect ppl. to only do things/live around his spur of the moment schedule. Him telling her no about Halloween was only motivated by vengeance, which I think is beyond low. I will say, that she needs to get her schooling in order, and just get it done. Yes, Ryan has a job, but he's not going to school, and sits/stays at home so his parents can pay all his bills.

I know Maci asked a few days in advance and Ryan did not. I don't think Ryan should have asked either BUT Ryan also didn't carry on about it or just show up and take him which I'm assuming he also has the right to do as Maci does. They went over holidays in the mediation (at least I remember Christmas) so I imagine there is some kind of phrasing in regards to birthdays and holidays.

I've personally watched the 'lets trade days, can I have some more time, blah blah blah' stuff go on with my Uncle and his ex about their 2 kids. It never ends well. I'm of the opinion that if you aren't supposed to have the kids, don't ask for them. Stick with the schedule. It's going to suck sometimes (his birthday for Ryan, Halloween for Maci) but that's what happens when you co-parent unfortunately.

However, Maci is the only one out of the two that took it to another level by arguing with Ryan over the time on Halloween and making the statement that she can him if she wants to. I don't know about there, but here in Columbus our trick or treat time is officially 2 hours from 6-8p. Bentley couldn't have been much fun after she gave him back to Ryan after tricking or treating for 2 hours already and/or missing it all together with the parent he was originally supposed to be with.

Again, I'm not a Ryan fan and I do think Maci has been super mature with most of their dealings but she was being super selfish about Halloween.

I can't stand Ryan or his parents they are going to be shocked that the judge is going to laugh them out of court, there is no way a judge is going to tell Maci she can't have Kyle live with her. Ryan could care less about Bentley it's all his parents doing,

No. Farah mom watchs Sophia all the time, Farrah is to busy poor me I lost Derek, the same man she was so afraid of she didn't even tell him she was prego because she was so afraid of him

Re: the Farah SS thing. The DNA did prove Derek was the father and SS accepts that's th case - you can see it in the letter she holds up. However, the requirements to receive the $ aren't just genetics - the person in question must have supported the child in question while alive, to make the child eligible for continued support.

As Sophia wasn't born when he'd died, he'd have had to have demonstrated some intent to provide the support which, again according to the letter, is apparently shown by making paternity notorious - telling people he was indeed the father. As he apparently denied such or didn't mention it, SS says he didn't make it notorious, which shows no intent to support, hence she can't claim the benefit.

Had Sophia been born and Farrah taken him to court (as, despite her rosy retro glasses she had told him she wanted him entirely out of her life, she theoretically could've) and the court established paternity and ordered support payments if she had more custody, then Sophia would qualify because the support was there and had been removed. They seem to look at it like no support was there or intended and thus who knows what would have happened so she's not entitled to it. *shrug* That's the way it's set up.

IIRC, Farrah was served papers by Derek's mom wanting grandparent visitation. So Derek's mom wanting visitiation with her grandchild would essentially prove demonstrated intent?

Such a messed up case.

Yea, that was messed up too. First comes the SS isn't going to pay Sofia because Derek's mom said he didnt acknowledge the unborn kid was his or I forgot exactly how it was worded, then next episode I think was his mom wanting visitation rights? she is all sorts of messed up.

I think Farrah is unbearable. She's nasty to her parents and seriously, she needed to justify a **** job by saying it'll help take care of Sophia better? Please. How about when you're so sore you can't get out of bed and take care of your child and your parents have to do it for you? But she's still a little witch to them. I want to smack her.

Maci moved into Ryan's apartment. He'd had the job a while and it seemed like it was a serious job, they sent him on that seminar and he'd travelled for work other times as well in their original episode.
Are you sure you are remembering the correct episode? Do you remember when Ryan would leave Maci and HIS SON in that apt by themselves and never do anything to help out? Do you remember when he wouldn't change a diaper or feed Bentley when he was an infant? She moved out of that apt to get some help as she was 17 and had an infant to take care of by herself!
I believe he has some degree or other and his job wasn't from his father, that was Maci's job.
Where are you getting this info from? This is what you 'believe'?
As for her being the sole provider, that's never been the case - she lived with her parents, who supported her and helped her look after Bentley after she left Ryan's apartment.
Because she was 16! They were both young! They both needed help taking care of Bentley.
She wasted their money for one semester's worth and I don't know whose money for two more and has a whopping 8 credits to show for nearly two years in community college. He should be paying support! He's Bentley's father!!!!! Just because Maci lived at home and you 'believe' she wasted her parents money by dropping classes has no relevance on Ryan paying for his son. And they have shown Maci working in previous seasons. Probably more than they've shown Ryan working.
We just saw her sit and say she was bored when Bentley left, the same day she decided to drop another semester's worth of classes. Lazy as _____ and useless as heck.
She probably was bored-2yr olds take up a lot of your time. In my mind that shows how much she takes care of him and loves him. When her son leaves the house she doesn't know what to do with herself.

And I guess my last point would be-Ryan doesn't even appear to WANT 50/50 custody! Yes, he went to the lawyer at the suggestion of his parents-but he basically just wanted the schedule drawn up in mediation to be made legal. He has never said "I want custody of my son," or even made mention of wanting more time with him.

You can be 'anti-Maci' or whatever-But don't try to build Ryan up to more than he is.

I only watched 10 minutes of this weeks show …. but what upset me the most is when Ryan came in from work and never acknowledged Bentley at all. Ya, I know he was dirty but heck at least if you don't want to pick him up and give him a big fatherly squeeze at least acknowledge him and talk to him and say … "Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Bentley, Daddy has to shower and then we will play together" … something along those lines.

I do NOT like Ryan, never have and never will. He is a downer and a whiner and just an overall blah person. :headache:

No kidding, especially since that was the day his parents had picked Bentley up for visitation. He obviously hadn't seen him in at least a few days, and acted like he could care less that he was there. I really don't think Ryan gives a crap, or has any interest in spending time/raising his son. I think the only reason he's "involved" at all is because of his parents.

I totally agree. The only reason he went to see the lawyer was because his parents wanted him to. I don't really think he cares either way.

I cut Ryan some slack. I saw him and Maci on a Dr Drew after special and Drew asked him if he liked the cameras. He point blank said no and I think that is obvious. I don't think that we can make a fair assessment of him (or Maci) from MTV editing. I just love Bentley though, he's adorable.

Anyone else tired of Tyler and Catelynn? Why are they still on this show?

Amber is just a trainwreck.

Sad when I ff to watch Farrah scenes, never thought that would happen.

I keep forgetting about this thread!

Ok

Ryan. I was also annoyed with Ryan coming home from work and not even saying hi to his son, but you have to remember, this show has been edited. And I wonder if they WANT us to see his parents showing more concern over Bentley. But I do think that his parents, especially his mom need to back off. Maci has given that child a home on her own since Bentley was an infant. She was living hours away, and gave him a good home. And if they think that a judge can force Macy to not live with a guy she's not married to, they are ridiculous and foolish! Bentley ADORES Kyle, their son Ryan, because he's a boy child, turned his back on Maci, so because of that, she's not allowed to be with anyone else? Seriously?

Amber. This girl has serious problems. Just watching how she lashed out at her own mom, it was obvious that she's not stable. And she's lazy. She has been living back at her old apartment saying that she has no where for Lea to sleep, but the camera's show us Leah's old bedroom with her babybed, and crap and trash packed in it. Perhaps if she got off her butt and cleaned, her child would have a proper place to stay until her rental home is ready. Its really sad that Gary is considered to more stable parent. Speaking of Gary, how GROSS was it to see Leah pick up the condoms? EWWWWWW!!!!!!

Caitlin and Tyler. I have to say, these two are my least favorite. They're good kids, but their lifestyle bugs me. I'm more of a fan of Tyler's mom, its obvious to me that she can't stand the hold Caitlin has on her son. Also, are they expecting too much of the adoptive parents to allow their daughter to attended their graduation? Last season C and T were talking about Brendon and Theresa allowing their daughter to be a flower girl in their wedding. Is that too much? I get its an open adoption, but is that a little excessive?

Fariah. I have a love and hate thing with this girl. When she disrespects her parents I want to reach in and slap her silly. They are so good to her and Sofia, and bottom line, they are the only support system she has. Fariah is a good kid, but she has alot to learn. Also, I can't get over how much Sofia looks like her daddy. She's such a precious child!
