Technical Question about borrowed points.

We are contemplating purchasing 150 points through a retail transaction. This purchase includes 150 points for 2010, and 150 points banked from 2009, so 300 points for this use year. We have borrowed 313 points from 2011 for a reservation this coming July. Does anyone know if Disney will apply these 300 points to the July reservation, and return 300 borrowed points to 2011? It says in the home resort rules and regulations that

"Once Borrowed, Home Resort Vacation Points cannot be returned to their original Use Year and will expire if not used by the end of the Use Year into which they were Borrowed, except that in the event Club Members purchase an additional Ownership Interest after Borrowing Home Resort Vacation Points, Club Members may substitute newly allocated Home Resort Vacation Points of a current Use Year for the Borrowed Home Resort Vacation Points that were used toward a future reservation and the Borrowed Home Resort Vacation Points will be returned to their original Use Year."​

Wasn't sure if that applies to resale as well as Disney add-on.

i'd be willing to bet that DVC would be willing to work with you if you buy direct/retail, but has no incentive to encourage you to buy a resale contract from someone else.

I have read reports of some doing this even for resale purchases so I'd say go ahead and ask. Nothing states this as a guarantee but maybe you'll be able to do so.

They may allow it for retail purchases but not resale. And it'll likely have to be the same home resort as the reservation if made inside the home resort window.
