I know I should be doing the happy dance because I only have 31 days until we leave for our 6 night stay at CSR. Everything is paid for except for getting our tickets at the Disney Store before we leave. This normally would make me feel like I was on cloud nine but there has been so much unwarranted drama in my life and household, I am fearing a major monkey wrench will throw off all my plans.
For one, my DD (age 20) who will be going with us as she has every year, is going through a weird rebellious stage where all she wants to do is hang out and sleep over at friends houses 75% of the week. She is almost never home exceot to run in the house, eat and do her hair and makeup, then leaves. When she is home she doesn't want to talk to us much and spends hours on her cell phone. I don't think she has had an actually conversation with either my or DH that lasted longer than an 10 minutes in over three weeks. I have tried begging her to clean up her messes when she is home for all of a couple of hours until she goes out with friends on her next adventure to who-knows-where. She has always been a good kid, gets great grades, and we have always a close relationship.
She lives at home and starts back at school, thankfully, next Wednesday and I am hoping this behavior stops and she will begin buckling down. She doesn't pay rent or utillities. All I ask is that she clean her messes, wash her clothes and go to school and keep her part time job to pay for her car and personal expenses.
Last night at midnight as I was going to the washroom at around midnight, she springs on me that she was given a cruise to Europe for free because an uncle of a friend had surgery and can't go on the cruise and it is non-refundable. I asked when this cruise was and she said "beginning of September".
I said "like in next week?" She said next week ir the one after(she would return literally the week before we leave for WDW). I told her there is no way she can go because school starts next week and she is going to miss a week of school at the end of the month for our long ago planned WDW trip. I also told her that a passport will take longer than a few days to obtain.
Everyday I have new a new family or work drama thrown at me and I have no time to feel excited about our WDW vacation. As far as I am concerned, it can't come soon enough. I just want it to get here fast so we can take a week to bond as a family again and get away from the dramas which have been unfolding at home. I've been crying almost everyday over so many things.
I NEED THIS VACATION! PLEASE SEPTEMBER 28th, GET HERE!!!!
Sorry to vent. I visit these boards everyday to get me some Disney spirit. I had to get this off my chest.
