Too cute pictures of you all standing out in snow. Seems like everyone's getting it except for us Colorado plains folks who are used to much more than we have gotten this winter. I miss it.
Awww...thanks! The snow was a RARE occasion for sure! I've never been to Colorado, but I would really love to go some time. I considered taking a job at Colorado State a few years ago. I don't like cold weather, but I do love it out west...and the Rockies are awesome!
Just noticed our countdown tickers. You leave for WDW one day before we leave for our
Disneyland trip. We had looked into going on a
Disney cruise and staying a few days at WDW during this week. We decided against it but I remember being a bit scared of the Star Wars crowd. I'll be interested to see how that goes for you. I'm sure you all will have tons of fun regardless of crowds.
I just found your PTR! I didn't know you had started one. I subscribed, of course. Your daughters are too cute!! We would love to go to Disneyland one day, but WDW is within driving distance....so that helps.
Yes, I'll be interested in Star Wars weekend as well. I would not go specifically for that reason - but since we will be there anyway, I definitely want to check it out! I'll bet it will really crowded....and possibly really weird. Should make for some great pictures for our trip report!

I wonder it would work?! Her weakness is dark chocolate...<evil

>!!
Love the family and snow pics! Is it warmer down there today? It hit 40 here in Minnesota today! We got a foot of snow the other day and it's starting to melt!
Now THAT's the spirit!!

Bribery works most of the time....especially when chocolate is involved. BTW, I gave up chocolate, McDonalds, and Wendy's for Lent.
Thanks for the comments about the family and the snow pics! YES, it is definitely warmer now. It is suppose to be in the 70s for the next 5 days.

(Despite what the national media would have you believe, Alabama is actually a wonderful place to live.) A foot of snow? Wow! I sound like an old-timer telling this story, but back in 1993 we had a freak, once-every-100-years snow storm and got 2 feet of snow!!! The entire state was crippled; no power, no water, etc. The state of Alabama only owns 2 snowplows! It was one of those stories that you pass along to your children.
Hi Alan,
Love the photos!! I'm sure that the snow in Alabama must have been quite the experience for your kids...
Valeria (and I) loved Truman's photos. She gave a big "Awwww..! when she saw Truman in his blanket.
Regards,
Luis
Thanks, Luis! Yes, the children enjoyed the snow very much! Please tell Valeria that Truman loves his blanket! In fact, believe it or not, WE didn't cover him up like that....HE did!

Mobile is at the far South end of the state and we are about 6 hours north...so we get a taste of winter each year...but snow is rare.
We are excited about eating at The Wave also. I have my eye on those lettuce wraps for lunch, and maybe even the Reuben sandwich.
I LOVE schitzus!! My inlaws have a little schitzu, and yes, he rules the roost at their house! His name is Samson.
Here is our Max

Max is SOOOO CUTE! I love his colors.
Hey Alan, you intrigued me over at Cammie's thread so I thought I would check yours out. I really enjoyed all the pics of your May 08 trip, and look forward to your May 09 report! You have a cool family. We are going in November and staying at POR, not doing the
ddp as of yet, but you might persuade me with more yummy food pics....
H portocall! Welcome to the report, and thanks for the kind words about our May '08 trip report! We had a lot of fun putting it together...it is a great way to ease back into reality once we got home from WDW! Thanks for saying we have a cool family! (I happen to agree with you!) I've never stayed at POR, but we have friends who absolutely love it. Oh - and that dining plan - it is really nice! We felt like VIPs our entire trip!
Hey Alan:
Loved your snow pictures of your family! Nice family.

Where is Jacksonville, AL? My son lives in Indianola, MS and they got snow this past /SaturdaySunday.
Thanks for the kind words about the family and the pics! Jacksonville is a small college town in the Northeast part of the state. We are about 1.5 hours from Birmingham, 1hr 45min to Atlanta, and 2 hours to Chattanooga, TN. We are right at the very end of the Appalachian Mountains...and it really is a beautiful place to live. Jacksonville is called the "Gem of the Hills," and Jacksonville State University is considered "The Friendliest Campus in the South."
We are sort of on the other end of the state from MS. In fact, we are only about 20 minutes from the GA state line.
