Hello cousins!
Richard - I'm so impressed with your racing calendar. You always seem to have a race to train for. I'm not organized enough to plan out (or train for) multiple races.
I'm sorry to hear that your daughter has been sick, but I'm glad to hear that she's getting better. Sending pixie dust your way that her recovery is speedy.
Richard's post is a tough one to follow, as I have very little to report. My official marathon training started today. Unfortunately, I seem to be dealing with plantar fasciitis. It's fine once I start running, but very painful once I've been sitting for a while or when I get up in the morning. I found some exercises to try, but if anyone has any other advice, I'd love to hear it.
Happy Labor Day!

Where are you staying? My hotel is about 2 blocks from the finish, which I think will come in handy after that uphill section for the last half mile or so.

  Gotta love city living!
I know we have them around here, but apparently not anywhere that I run, thankfully! Or maybe it's just that we're making so much noise that they're terrified. Between my Galloway group on Saturday, and the smaller group that's running together twice a week, I've been lucky enough not to run alone all summer.
I have always liked this course because it is nice and flat. The weather was absolutely perfect for running with temps in the 50's at the start. I managed to PR with a 2:12:06. My prior best was a 2:18 in Providence about a month ago. I'm so psyched!!! Just had to share and try to convince everyone to come to Philia to do this awesome race.
That's a terrific time! And negative splits are still negative splits. I'll add this one to the "maybe" list for next year. The November one has been on the list for a long time.
Time to go get ready for the week.
