Okay folks, I'm back after the last trip in "the summer of work travel," and am I glad. I'm hoping for a little stability here for a couple of months. But stability isn't my strong suit.
I *should* be catching up on work and starting my next project, but I'm not. I even turned down two editing jobs as I'm strung out. So I thought I'd catch up here before moving on to the next big thing...won't pretend I can catch up, so just a couple of shout-outs...
Richard: How is your FIL? I've been thinking about all your WOs/events recently, especially in the midst of our heat wave. I just want to curl up in a dark, cool cave, so....

SOOOO sorry to hear about the annual financial audit. I'd compare it to a much more invasive, painful physical procedure. But polite company forbids it. I think.
Rose: Random thought...you know hills are big when they're named. And I can only imagine the names they're called when you're moving all uphill.

Congrats on doing your longest run in those conditions & on letting DH live. (And then persevering in the next run what John so eloquently said.)
Maria: I've said it before, I'll reiterate. You've been rocking everything this entire year! I was relieved to hear that it was a problem with your contacts and not your eyes. Whew. You ARE going to give us the skinny on Wizarding World of Harry Potter, right? Must get my pop culture fix from someone can you believe I haven't watched TV in weeks? The horror.
Jen: I've been MIA too, but it's nice to know we can call 'Ohana home. Your fall plans sound spot on for great success in January! Plus, you're doing so well balancing a new baby (sometimes literally), work, and your fitness goals.
Corinna: Belated well wishes and continuing good thoughts for your SIL, BIL and family. What sad news, and I hope the prognosis is good. As for your travels, your travels always look like so much fun and so healthy! Woo hoo! I'd be happy to tag along some time.
JenB: I'm so happy you, Butch, and DD got to go to Sarasota & visit WDW to experience MSEP! It's a favorite of mine, and I was doing the happy dance when they announced an extended run. It looks like you have a busy, busy late summer/fall schedule for races!

How was DD's birthday party? IIRC, you throw the coolest parties!
Nicole: Oh,

It sounds like your body is just rebelling against you. I wish I had some advice, but all I know is that my body dislikes certain seasons intensely and gives me lots of phantom pains during the summer. Is it possible the unusual weather (assume you're hit too) is affecting you? I do think a doctor could help, even with unspecified aches and pains, but since I avoid them I don't feel entirely comfortable recommending you go to one...
Kathy: I'm so stoked that I'll get to see you at W&D. I'm bummed that I'm not running, that was a hard decision, but maybe I'll register for the party. All the fun, none of the prep.
As for me: One, or two, too many trips this summer. All for work for me or DOOD. (And when one of us works, the other assists.) The latest was in Stratford, to see several Shakespeare plays. And visit with my ILs. In a B&B, with close quarters. I'm glad to be home with a semi-stable schedule approaching.
That means I need to get serious about running, eating, and training now. I've been a slug, haven't hit over 3 miles in weeks. So glad I didn't sign up for DL this year, although I sulked about it. The heat just makes me mitchy.
So no W&D half, and no 5K. I just balk at the price for Disney 5Ks. Although that medal looks cute....
