This a university we are considering sending our son too, but now, am questioning all universities. How did someone like this "slip through the cracks". I know she wasn't ever charged with anything, but there are a lot of pieces that don't add up. Just like our other case with the 14 year old boys.
Just makes a mama scared. Thanks Richard! I know you know what it's like. This a university we are considering sending our son too, but now, am questioning all universities. Just makes a mama scared.

John: Please post pictures of you in the dress-- sounds like a really fun event
It scares all of us Allie. You are certainly not alone there, but life can't be lived from inside protective walls without taking any chances--but that still doesn't make it any easier to accept.Just makes a mama scared.

The fishnets definitely make the outfit. I personally would find it tough to run in them
DD6 and I will be in the wedding-- even more motivation for me to finally lose the weight. They are planning on getting married on 12-11-10, a pretty cool date if you ask me.I'm sorry you've felt the need to stay away, but I understand. I'm glad you've checked back in though. I can't believe that 2nd shooting was also nearby. I'm so sorry to hear that your area has suffered another tragedy like this.Just checking in. Haven't felt like posting or reading for that matter.
For those of you who don't know, we had another tragedy in our town. Last Friday, the same day that the 14 year old boy, that was shot last week, was laid to rest, we had another shooting at our local university. A professor shot and killed 3 other professors, and injured 3 more.
I haven't had anything positive to add, so I've just stayed away. Sorry
Although, I did do the Virtual Valentine race. We had a local race here on Sunday. It had a 2 mile and a 4 mile. I did both!!!I did the 2 mile in 24:52, and the 4 mile in 55:13. Not bad considering due to the weather, sick kiddos, and the craziness lately, I haven't run since Feb. 1st.
I just wanted to check in so my cousins knew I was still here.![]()
I'm tired of cold weather too! But more than that, I'm tired of icy roads and sidewalks! I've only had two outdoor runs since fall (and one of those was in WDW). I'm just paranoid of twisting my knee. I had knee surgery when I was 13 and a big injury of the same knee when I was 20 - so no ice for me!Workout 1 - complete. As I told Jen, I did the warmup mile (and almost bailed on the entire run. The wind was so strong it felt like I wasn't making any forward motion at all.) Then I did what was supposed to be 25:00 of hard running, but I adapted to 15:00 of R3/W1 at a really hard pace. My first mile averaged 10:45 with the walk breaks, so I was exerting a little effort. Then I ran another mile with NO breaks to cool down. Not exactly a cool down, but more of a challenge. And considering that 1/4 of the track was into a headwind, not a bad workout. There was just no way I was going to survive the 25:00 that the plan called for! Have I mentioned that I'm tired of cold weather?

SO NOT FAIR! You look way better in that dress than I would!![]()

to all of you! Sorry, so far I am having trouble keeping all of you straight to respond to everyone. Please bear with me!!Thanks for the advice on the running snacks.Jen - 11:30 at the Poly Food Court sounds perfect to me! I had suggested a slightly later time, but I think I like this better as this leaves time for a dash through the Magic Kingdom before the meet at POR food court at 5pm. When the race gets closer, we can start each post with a time and place reminder for both meets.
Nicole - your snacks sound good! A great plan to try them out before the race and see what you like / what sits well, as well as how frequently you want to use them. Here's my formula (make of it what you will) - on a run of 6-7 miles or more, if I've had breakfast earlier, I usually start with the fuel around mile 3 - eat one or two, then another "dose" about every other mile, depending on when I start to feel "draggy" again. This whole "Eat one pack before the workout and another during and another after" or whatever it suggests on the package. To me, that always seems excessive for my needs, anyhow.
The TM is calling my name again today - a nice 3 miles. Then food shopping and a trip to REI - gotta love REI. I am only shopping for kids snow pants, though. I am only shopping for kids snow pants. If I say it enough times, might believe it.![]()
I'm still learning, too!Other cousinsto all of you! Sorry, so far I am having trouble keeping all of you straight to respond to everyone. Please bear with me!!

I ran 5M on the TM this morning, which felt good since I haven't run since Saturday. I have been doing alot of incline walking and getting into the Wii BL, so I guess I'm becoming more well-rounded, but I will get more running in next week.

I have a feeling you are going to be smokin' hot in your new finery!
No words of wisdom, but know you are thought about and wished peace and good things for the future.
for your new position!

Sorry, I know I missed some, but if I don't eat now ds may not make it. Hungry those tweens are!

). Lately it seems it is just problem after problem, but at least I have a good job that I like.
) Some of it was spent working out, though there has been more than one workout that did not go according to plan. I didn't get to spin class on Wednesday in time to get a bike, so I rode on a regular one in the fitness center for half an hour and decided, yeah, that's enough. Yesterday, I intended to do 11 miles on the TM (suxor) and bailed after 5. Not like me, I know. Here's why: in my enthusiasm, I failed to take an actual REST day after that 5K on Saturday where I pulled out all the stops. Today is hereby designated as a rest day. Except that the sun is shining and I'm likely to go out and chip away at The Glacier a little more while I can and before we get any worse flooding in the street down there.
I am so, so sorry about the tragedies in your city so close together. They are both so disturbing, and I agree, it definitely makes a mama nervous, especially when they are so close to home. I wish there were more that any of us could do. I'm so glad you got your Valentine's races. Look at you, doing BOTH local races! WTG!
- closest thing they have to a wolf whistle - sorry about the rolling eyes part. Looks like a great race for a great cause, that's for sure! Glad you had fun with it!
Last time I bought shoes, they had some buy one pair get a discount on the second pair, so that was nice and a little easier to understand cause he said something about it, at least. Did you go to the one on Randolph?
Looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks!
Yes, on Randolph. My DD loved their kids area, which she had all to herself. She did not want to leave her playhouse. I knew my shoes would be on sale, but I was surprised about the running skirt.Hello Cousins! I'm not sure how the week got away from me so quickly Some of it was spent on the War on Snow. Some was spent running countless errands (though alarmingly I never did make it to REI!) Some of it was spent working out, though there has been more than one workout that did not go according to plan. .....
Nicole - I'm with you on the ice - it's so slick out there right now. Frankly, I prefer packed snow to a thin layer of bare pavement with ice on either side. I have only done races outside since the fall. I am sooo looking forward to spring! WTG inspiring your DH to run! Sounds like he is serious if he bought a NIKE foot pod! I have no real clue about the Run N Fun discounts at all. I think I saved a bunch last time I was in as well - maybe a winter clearance special? The way that this running stuff works is they come out with new stuff every few months, I think, so they're almost always trying to clear something out.Last time I bought shoes, they had some buy one pair get a discount on the second pair, so that was nice and a little easier to understand cause he said something about it, at least.
