Calling all cousins, calling all cousins....
I've been a bad captain with the numbers and being restricted with the online time, but if you have yet to give me your August numbers I'll do my best to get them up by Friday.
Richard: Have I told you I'm so impressed with all the training and events you've been doing. Your Tour de Cure Bike Ride charity event sounds like such fun, and a worth cause indeed! And good training of course, being just a happy by-product.

Great job working with your running partner, too. Thanks for the sponsorship link, too.
So, does this mean you're a go for the DL 1/2 in 2010 and MCM in 2011? I got confused by the numbers....so easy to do to me.
Maria: I'm so sorry to hear about Dennis' knee--what's the verdict. Bummer on the September events, too. I'm super impressed with how you always manage to hold things together with your various last-minute projects (btw, I understood what you meant by green boilers). And congrats on your grant getting funded--the work you do is SO important! Oh, and about Scooby-Do. Velma is Asian? Really?
Oh, and I love your determination to stick to a schedule and to workouts, even if that means doubling up on things. I think doing weights during
BL is bound to keep you focused--the show can be so inspiring.
Corinna: 5 year medal next year for the DL 1/2? Oooh, I love anniversary medals. (Although I'm looking for a charity to give them away to--there's one out there for racing medals, I know.) I do think the TMs in DL are sprinkled with pixie dust.
Vigilant is such a good description for you, although I still say it takes 2nd place to hard-core. You've really worked it in so many ways this year than I'll see nothing but your dust this January! I can't promise to regularly read your WW online blog, but I love that you have one.
JenB: Sorry to hear about your stress level--and I think it's worse when it's random, for some reason. (Less control, perhaps?) But good news abounds! Great DL 1/2, WTG on your weight loss, and you've got a fun race to look forward to!

Oh, btw, good luck with the Philadelphia Distance Run this weekend!
Julie: Great news on finishing your first week of marathon training!

And double-yay for toughing it out with a blister. I know how hard it can be, as I get blisters after every LR. That and the rain only makes it harder. (Btw, did you do the Honan 5k?) And thanks for the well wishes on the Disney Moms panel--not a chance for me, really, but I did enjoy applying!
As for me: Continued limited internet access. DOOD has volunteered to take care of the problem and one of the things we've learned in our relationship is not to take over when one of us says we'll do something. Even if that something is taking much longer than it should.

And not to nag. Or ask too many questions. Not worth the fall-out.
In other bad news. I've substituted XT for both my midweek runs, as my left leg has moved from tender to discomfort to pain--luckily, not when running, but after--in that outside ankle to calf region. So I'm taking a couple of days off. That, plus this week is a cut-back week (3/6 miles) so I'm hoping things will be fine. DOOD has the same problem, same leg, and we're running the same route, so I'm thinking there's a connection. DOOD has his first ultra (50K) this weekend in Youngstown, OH, so he's in taper and hoping it doesn't affect his performance. Then again, he's running with his much slower partner, so that will help (I hope).
In the bad news/good news department: We've decided to defer on Baltimore, due to conflicts in a tight schedule more than anything else. The good news is, we know this means we can at least come down for race weekend. Not sure if it'll be a POP century, weekend-only visit, but we're planning on being there!
