Team Mickey - Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Challenge

NOW FOR THOSE OF US WHO SET A GOAL FOR THE CHALLENGE!!!

NOTE: This list includes participants who have reported in within the last 3 weeks, once someone misses 3 weigh-ins they are dropped from this report.

How this works: You set your goal for what you want to lose in the challenge. Then I calculate your weight loss in the challenge divided by your goal to get a % to goal.

Anybody can change their goal at anytime (or add a goal) – all you have to do is send me a PM.

Since the goals are an individual thing, the list is just in alphabetical order to make it easier for everybody to find their own name. If there are any questions or suggestions please let me know.

We have done 6 out of 21 weeks, so the challenge is 23% complete.

I hit the treadmill last night and kicked out 4 miles.

I've set my new plan for running and I WILL be running Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

I need to get some upper body work going, since I've mostly focused on running when I was training for the 1/2 last year. I've been looking at local gyms, but the budget cannot handle it for the most part. We had one of those Planet Fitness places open up close by, but I've not heard much about it yet to know if it's worth it.

I still had too much diet soda today, but managed to get 48 oz of just water in the tank too. Boss bought lunch for me today and I made a better choice than ANY lunch I had last week. It still wasn't a GREAT choice, but better (anti-pasta salad at local Pizza joint).

Dinner was a (only one!) Turkey Italian Sausage and a small salad. Turkey sausage was from Butterball and was pretty good.

Gotta work on Healthy Habits again to reverse the 2# gain from last week!

Quotd Val day: Haven't had much of a sweet tooth lately-- I will pick up a bag of mnm's from work though the day after. No dinner either-- I work tomorrow night. Jeez-- y'know I've just about got rid of the xmas food...

QOTD Monday 1/13 - I think we have all realized that we all need help and support on this journey. Who is the biggest help/hindrance on your journey?

You people/probably husband though he doesn't mean it. And Guy Fieri. I personally blame him for at least 10 pounds before I lost my weight the first time. Triple D....

HI EVERYONE!!!!

I'm officially a member of Team Mickey and I am SO excited!

I have to go to my Ornithology class and then I will come back and tell you guys a few things about me!

Btw...is there anything I need to do?

Welcome!

:wave2:

Good Morning Mickeys!!

So I spent several hours on Sunday going through some boxes of old clothes in smaller sizes. Found several shirts that fit and a few pair of jeans that are pretty close. I think I also found a actual pair of MC Hammer's pants! Some of the stuff in those boxes is going to need to get donated or used by my girls for Retro 80's day at school!

:rotfl:

Today has been a BAD day for me. Food, life, etc.

DS25 still hasn't begun to look for a job, his phone is shut off for non-payment so I stopped by where he is living to let them know I am trying to get ahold of him. They told me he is there only to sleep in the day, out all night, got in at 7 this morning. And, they told me he gets overdraft notices every day and tossed me today's. He is overdrawn almost $950! and his phone bill & reinstate is $127 - of the $3100 total he got out of his 401k to last until he gets a job - and he has applied for FOUR in 6 weeks.

So then I made the mistake of calling DH who: #1 yelled at me for opening DS25 mail. #2 told me he won't make the decision to not pay any and all DS25 bills and be responsible for him being homeless & dealing drugs again. So, again, I am STUCK with DS25 running the family(as it affects all of us). And we will be paying his rent(DH won't tell him he has to move home since unemployed), utilities, gas, car payment, insurance, phone, etc., on top of all our own bills - while he spends anything he has on who knows what.

GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!! And if I argue, DH says I don't love DS25, never has, etc.

So, I did fine at breakfast, then all this - I ate cottage cheese/fruit, popchips, salsa - then I lost it with Rolos & baked tostitos & a WW 3 pt bar. So I undid about a weeks worth of progress instantly.

Thanks for letting me vent - sorry I had to, again.......which is why I don't post a bunch on here, life gets me WAY too stressed.

I've had similiar issues with the daughter--she's 22. The thing that really helped me when she was a teen was getting on the treadmill when she upset me....

Had a good day today-- will add the clippie when I can! I really think I'm getting the swing of it again.

Happy Valentines Day to everyone.:)

Sorry I haven't been posting much, the last few weeks have been crazy. I'm glad I finally made top 10, that was a goal for myself and I did it!

My husband and I were approved as puppy raisers for Leaderdogs for the Blind back in December. We found out we are getting our first puppy (a female black lab) in March. I'm very nervous and very excited. I don't want to screw this up!

Hello there! Great job handling things the way you did. You posted about it! The hard part of today is over and tomorrow is a new day. Kudos to you, girl - seriously! Parenting "adult" kids is so fun---NOT!! My oldest is 20 (DS) and next oldest is 17 (DD). They are harder to parent, I believe, than when they were infants!!! OMG. Hang in there girl! You are doing GREAT! :) And remember- no matter what, 24/7 this board is always here. Log in at anytime and get some support! That's one of the things I love about WISH Biggest Loser/Team Mickey- always here!! :) Tomorrow will be a better day for sure!
Julie,

AB, :welcome:

I've been reading along, but don't have that much to say! Got waaayyy off track yesterday and ate about half a pan of turtle cake! :confused3 mmmmm so good. Today I'm resisting it!

I got my walk in with my walking partner (3 miles) and later went for a run (2.5 miles). My legs are done! Today was a furlough day for the school district so no subbing for me. Should have done so much more than I did. Saw a fellow I work with a lot when I dashed to Costco. That was fun. Finally got to meet his wife!

Better go be productive! Have a super evening, Mickeys!

Good for you! That is amazing! Keep it up!

Well, it's been an interesting last few days. The mom drama has been a blast. :rotfl2: I am so far off plan I can't describe it. I promise tomorrow will be a better day. First, I will have a soda-free day. I will also drink plenty of water. My other goal is to go to the gym.

To tomorrow!
I'm right there with you but you know what- tomorrow is a new day and we can just embrace tomorrow and make it OURS! We WILL be victorious on our goals starting tomorrow morning! I'll do it - please join me! We can do this!

Biggest Loser Fall Challenge Week 6!
This week’s group loss = 24.0 pounds!
Average percentage of weight lost 0.41 %
Total group weight loss so far 309.9 pounds!

AWESOME!

Retention Rate (compared to the 72 participants we had sign up for our start week on January 1st)
47% (this includes the Losers, Maintainers and Excused people!). Let's keep sending those weights people!

Before the weekly superstar list comes the disclaimer. I am human and I make mistakes. If you have any questions please contact me. For your reference this is the magic percentage of weight lost formula - weight loss for the week divided by weight for last week times 100, that gives us the percentage. Now let me test that with my numbers for week 1, click, click, click goes the calculator. Yes, that agrees with the percentage on the magic spreadsheet. (btw if its been more than 1 week between weigh-ins, then the % loss is divided by the number of weeks, to keep everybody on the same basis)

Now let's get to the good stuff. Who were our superstars of week 6?

The WISH Biggest Loser Spring Challenge Team Mickey Week 6 Superstars!!
#10 - 0.78% - aamomma
#9 - 0.90% - cclovesdis

and now
The WISH Biggest Loser Team Mickey Spring Challenge Week 6 Biggest Loser is:
#1 - 2.05% - 50sjayne

Quote from Dare2Dream: How is your week going? Are you OP (on program)? Are you exercising? Drinking that water? You know what to do to make the magic happen. Get on the wagon. We are all here to help you on the journey. We can do this one day at a time. One bite at a time.

Have a healthy day!
Congratulations 50sjayne!!!

Julie- HUGS!!!!!!

Welcome AB! Interesting sounding major! Good luck with your goal!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

I got up and did 38 min of Wii Fit Plus! It felt great! I did two jogging sessions, the marching, cycling, boxing and stepping. I decided to start my workouts off with this as they are fun to do and I push myself to do better each time. I need fun stuff right now to get me moving again. I also hope to do the elliptical tonight watching BL.

Gotta stop and pick up a card for Brian from me and the kids on the way to work. I got Brian a tiny gift from me. I will pick up something else on my way to work. No clients today so maybe I can leave early. Brian is off this week so I'd prefer to be home with him.

Going to have paninis for supper. I have logged my breakfast and lunch for today but will have to figure out my dinner calories.

Gotta go make Ashleigh's lunch now. She has dancing tonight too so that throws off the schedule a bit for the day.

TTFN :tigger:

Good morning, everyone, and Happy Valentine's Day to my favorite bunch of losers! ;)

goldcupmom, I'm so sorry for what you're going through with your son. My girls are just 7 and (almost) 5, and I dread 10-15 years from now when they won't hang on my every word and shower mommy with kisses every day. But I do believe strongly that you *are* showing love for your son by not wanting to prop him up during these difficult times. As hard as it must be to watch your child struggling, I don't believe that enabling him in that situation is a path that will help him, and I'm sorry your DH isn't more supportive. I wish you lots of strength!

:cheer2:Congratulations, 50sjayne, on your top loss this week! :cheer2: And congratulations to all the losers and maintainers - and yes, the gainers, too! Sticking with this group has kept me on track so many times this year when I'd have otherwise veered off, and even if I gain a bit, I know where the support to get back on the path is - right here! And while I love a loss as much as the rest of us, we're doing so much more here than losing weight.

I survived my JM workout enough yesterday to decide to also go to Zumba last night. I hadn't been since before the holidays! It's a hard class for me to make - 8:30 on Monday evenings, when I'd much rather be planted on the couch. But I went, and I'm so glad I did. It was weird, too - I thought I'd find it really hard to get back in the groove and that I'd have a hard time making it through the whole hour. But all this other exercising has clearly made me stronger - I was able to do the whole class, and I was getting lower in the squats and higher in the kicks than I was last year! Woo!

Today is my commuting day, so I'm dressed nicely and sitting in an office. :) Tonight we're going to Red Robin for dinner for Valentine's Day. The Robin visits on Tuesdays, and we have a coupon for DD(almost)5's birthday. I have a couple of good go-to's there, so I think I'll be fine with my food plan today. A light lunch won't hurt. :) We're also doing our Valentines at dinner - the girls were so cute doing cards for DH and me, being all secretive and giggly about it. For a family of 4, we have a huge pile of cards!

Hope everyone enjoys today, whatever it means (or doesn't mean) to you!

XO

QOTD 2/14 - most of us spend our days loving and caring for others often at our own 'expense' and leave us for last. What can you do for YOU more often to "love" yourself - besides exercise, healthy eating/losing weight? You ARE worth it!

Kudos on 4 miles! I need to figure out upper body/strength, too, so let us know, please when you have a plan.

Planet fitness is all over NM and although I don't now go there (hoping to change soon) I know lots who do and they love it! Funniest part here is for $20/mo u can bring a friend, get free training, tanning, use of massage chairs and HAIRCUTS by Aveda stylists. Seems so odd!

Awesome on top 10!!!! And as a dog lover I think it's great you are getting a puppy in training! That is a real gift to someone & much work on your part. I have a niece whose daughter (4) got an allergy alert dog last fall. Totally life saving and freeing!

The one thing I make time for that isn't related to eating well or exercising is reading! I looooove to read. I set a goal of reading 50 books each year, and I've made it the past few years (since the baby/toddler days, no small coincidence there...). Last year, I read 70! And I don't count the ones I read to my kids. ;) I always have a book with me, whether it's on the Kindle or in paper format; you never know when you'll get stuck somewhere and want some entertainment. And my library list is a mile long! I find it so relaxing and enjoyable, and it requires all my attention. If we're just watching TV, I tend to be doing eight other things at the same time, but reading takes me to a whole other place, and I love the escape.

Reading is WONDERFUL! And a great lesson to your kids ! Dd & in love to read & she was the last holdout in the house to read an ebook. She is on a crusade to not let real books die!

AOTD: I am not sure...I am starting on the health thing with eating and exercising. I am going back to church and getting more involved there. Hmm, maybe some shopping? LOL I do need to do more in organizing my life and my room.

Went to the gym last night and did my own version of interval training with some cardio mixed into some weight training. I sure did sweat a lot!! Frustrating when equipment isn't working though. I was gonna try this stair machine - but nope!
Church tonight, so no gym, but I think I am gonna go to the mall before that and do some indoor walking to increase my steps per day. As of this post - only 963 steps.

You could be me! I am also working on getting more involved at church, trying to purge & organize my house.....& shopping?well, I am the queen of cheap,

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Today has been slightly better here, but same old same old, it's just that I am a bit more in control.

Made it to the gym for my 5k, now watching BL and hoping for early sleep. I seem to be up at 4 every morning since FL. Not easy when DH has the tv on til midnight.

Didn't get up early to work out this morning. Sleep was just too good this morning. I will get in a workout and hopefully get Brian to workout with me once the kids are off to school. They have a half day so Ash is home by 11 and I pick up Izzie at 12:15. At 1 we are going around the corner to a big tubing park. We had bought a groupon deal for Christmas and today is probably our last chance to use it. It's going to be in the 40s so it sounds like perfect weather. Brian and I don't have snow pants so not sure how many times we will go down the hill. It's mainly for the kids anyways.

Going to use the leftover spaghetti sauce from the other night for chicken parm subs tonight. I will probably have a shake or a protein bar for lunch. Not sure how well I ended up doing last night. We had brownie sundaes as out special dessert. Hoping to make Auntie Anne's pretzels later this afternoon/evening. We gave each kid a box for Valentine's Day.

Vacation starts on Friday. The main goal is to get the girls' rooms cleaned and organized. I have to work Tuesday and Thursday and Friday. Just have to find something for the girls to do on Thursday. I have a playdate lined up for Izzie while I work. I may take Ash with me on Tuesday and give her a massage. Not sure about the other 2 days. I will have to look into it today.

Need to make our appt for out passports today. Planning on going first thing on Saturday morning.

Didn't get up early to work out this morning. Sleep was just too good this morning. I will get in a workout and hopefully get Brian to workout with me once the kids are off to school. Have fun tubing! That sounds like perfect weather. I like outdoor winter stuff when its warm like that. Good luck on the cleaning. My goal next week while the kids are out of school is to tackle one kids room per day and have them help me. I love the idea of you letting your daughter enjoy a massage. That's very thoughtful, mom! :) Have a great OP day!

I hope everyone is having a great OP day. I have been so sick with a cold. I am not usually one to complain about a little cold, but this one is brutal! I hope the worst of it is behind me.

In other news, I started the BluePrintCleanse yesterday. It is basically a juicing cleanse. They don't claim it makes you lose a lot of weight, rather, it is supposed to "reset" your system if you are at a plateau. That was my issue. For the price, I hope it works. The 6 juices that you drink in a day are pretty tasty. I like them. And they say you are drinking 20 lbs of produce a day. Its a 3 day thing. I think that is quite long enough!! lol. There is lots of info on the web about cleanses, whether they are beneficial, healthy, etc. This is the first one I've done. I don't think it would be good to do longer than 3 days. Some people do it way longer. I hope it gets me over this plateau. Time will tell! :)
