shoe/sneaker recommendations

I have struggled with PF over the years and also found Birkenstock sandals to work great. For tennis shoes, I use Asics GT-2000 or Hoka Rincon, and ditto to what everyone says about going to the store and being fitted.

However, Birkenstock makes a gym shoe (well more like a casual one picture vans style) and I'm thinking of trying those. They look a little nice then an athletic shoe and supposingly have the same insole. Anyone tried the Birk's like that?
I did try them on but didn't find them comfortable. Mainly it was in the toe box area where they top of the shoe had the distinctive curve of the sandal and it didn't feel good in a closed-toe format.

I swear by Hoka Bondis now. I'm on my third pair. I have a pair of 9s and a pair of SRs. I umpire softball so some days I'm on the turf for 16+ hours. Never had an issue with the Hokas. Before them I had very good luck with New Balance 995s. I tried Ons but I think I just weigh to much for the air sole to support like it's supposed to. Had a friend wear them and tell me the same thing, by about a month in, the structure had collapsed. My wife loves her Brooks, that's what she's taking to Universal next week. She has wide feet and actually bought men's to get the correct width.

Oddly enough I had a bout with PF or something similar, I bought a pair of the Sketchers Cozy Fit and really helped me though the pain. Thankful that I'm not dealing with it on an ongoing basis, I now have 4 pair that I rotate though and have been thrilled with how my feet feel at the end of the day.

My husband has planter fasciitis, and the only brands that he's found to be comfortable for prolonged walking and standing are Hoka and On Cloud.

I hate sneakers and essentially refuse to wear them. At WDW in warm weather I wear supportive hiking sandals with a back strap, and in winter I mostly wear Merrell Jungle Mocs. I never wear any kind of backless shoe.

My entire family always wears Jungle Mocs on cold-weather visits to WDW. Warm shoes, and they keep our feet happy. DD will also sometimes choose to wear Doc Martens in the parks when it is cold.

No one in our family ever wears sneakers on Disney property; they are just too miserable-feeling if they get wet, and in Orlando dampness, shoes that get wet simply won't fully dry without being left to sit in full sun for days, or using a hot-air drying system, neither of which I have time for when traveling.
