Team Mickey - Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Challenge

I haven't worked out yet today. I know I need to get my BL kinect workout in for the night. I haven't even ate dinner yet. I'm waiting for my Prevacid to kick in. I feel like my insides are on fire.

After posting the blog I wrote I finally got up and got a few things done. I loaded the dishwasher while Alan vacuumed the living room. I got the meal plan made out for the next two weeks. I also got my exercise plan made out for the rest of January and all of February.

We're going to head to Downtown Disney tomorrow and get our annual passes renewed. We may also just spend some time down their relaxing. I'm hoping it will get me out of the emotional funk I've been in this last week or so. I also need to call Disney and get our Christmas trip planned for this year. I would of done it today but between waking up after 12pm, having no mojo, and heartburn killing me I've just decided to put it off another day.

Did any of you see the birthday special for Betty White last night? It was awesome see what she has accomplished in her 90 years on Earth. Some of those shows she has been in over the years I've never even seen. We also watched her new show about elderly pranking younger people. It cracked me up!

Nothing much planned tonight other then getting that workout in, eating dinner, making my bed, and relaxing. I'm hoping to get a good night sleep and up at a decent hour in the morning.

Kristina:  You are an amazing young woman! :goodvibes

Thanks for all the good wishes on my grocery shopping adventure. Your comments made me realize that as frustrating as it is to read labels and navigate the people who like to stand in the middle of the aisle :headache:, grocery shopping is something I am good at and tackle well. Thanks! :)

I have a pretty boring day scheduled for tomorrow. I will be spending lots of time job searching. Thanks for the well wishes regarding that as well! :) It's refreshing to have new ideas though, so I am feeling better about things.

I encourage you to pop over to the Team Donald Thread and say hi and give your best wishes!

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow! :goodvibes

DisneyWedding2010- Hoping to try the BL Kinect game tomorrow!

For many of you who have been on here before I like to see who would like to join me in working out during Biggest Loser! I try to do this every week! I will be doing the elliptical tonight from at least 8-9pm. I used to imagine Jillian yelling at me to get moving! It was very inspirational! LOL!

Catching up on some shows before I head downstairs. I had a shaved steak roll up and the rest of Izzie's chicken patty and then a bowl of rainbow sherbet! I needed extra calories at supper due to my workouts!

I'll be drinking more water tonight as well!

Plan for tomorrow: 3 mile Walk Away the Pounds with weights
Biggest Loser Kinect game

Breakfast: Healthy Meal shake
Lunch: Healthy Meal shake and chicken soup
Dinner: Mushroom Ravioli

I'll have some snacks as well during the day! Just need to keep drinking my water and tea!

I did, it was great. I love Betty White! I'm a huge Golden Girls fan and she was fantastic on Mary Tyler Moore.

I never thought I would say this, but I'm actually enjoying jogging. Hubby and I started last Wednesday and we have jogged a mile 3 times, once our boys joined us. Tonight I used my itunes stocking stuffer to sync 4 songs to my wonderful Ipod touch my family got me for Christmas. It was so much more fun to run while listening to songs that pumped me up. I even knocked some time of my best and it was over before I realized it. I think we might sign up for a local 5K that's taking place in April, fun!

I'm so glad to hear how well both teams did this week and hearing the amount of weight lost was staggering. Go us!!:cheer2:

Hello All,

Just checking in for today... today has so far been an op day it should stay that way according to my calculations ;) My semester starts tomorrow so let the craziness begin! I'm already packing stuff for tomorrow as it's my long day. I leave home at 6 am for work. Work from 7:30 - 4:30 and then class from 6:00 - 8:00 I won't be home till about 9:45 - 10:00.

Something else I wanted to share... just a proud parent moment. We (my husband and I) along with the daycare he goes to have been attempting to potty train my son on and off. Last week I bought him a cars toilet seat, he had a potty but didn't really care for it. HE loves that toilet seat, and started wanting to go but not as often. Well yesterday when I was at the mall I found this pack of Disney underwear for him. When I showed them to him he wanted to wear the nemo one right away so I was like ok.

Well he wore them all afternoon last night and had 2 accidents. He wore a diaper last night to sleep and today during his nap. Today he used the potty all day and so far no accidents :cool1::cool1: I'm so excited at this!!

woo hoo! Congrats to your DS!!!

Good for you on the jogging! It gets easier. Just hang in there and keep at it! Consistency is key! Definitely sign up for that 5K! Its a huge motivator to have the registration already paid for so you feel like you "have to" train. AWESOME!!!!! :cool1::cool1::thumbsup2:

Today was pretty good. Back on track. I was caught without my JC snack, so I ate something at school that was little over my calories, but no big deal. Hoping for a loss tomorrow.

DisneyWedding: Hugs from Missouri. I can't even begin to imagine how tough it is.

I'm watching the Biggest Loser right now and I'm just sitting here shaking my head. I don't want to really talk about it because I don't know whose all seen it yet tonight. NCIS was a repeat so after BL is over I'm going to get my Kinect workout in.

Disneywedding2010, your blog post was inspiring and broke my heart (in a good way!). I have two small children, and I couldn't imagine how I would ever pick myself up and keep going in the face of loss like that - now I can. You are so incredibly strong and brave, and I'm glad you're here with us!

In other news, I'm getting past my disappointing 0.4 gain (!) at WW today. I've been working out so much that I think it's possible it's actual muscle, which is a gain I'll take. I had some NSVs today, which have really helped. Some clothes I ordered from my favorite website arrived, and *everything* fit. I did 14.1 miles in 45 minutes on my stationary bike tonight, and that's a personal best. So I'm looking at the big picture - I feel better, and I look better, and those 4/10 will be history next week!

I also love working out while watching BL! I find it so motivating. I spend 45 minutes going hard on the bike, 3 minutes cooling down, and 5-10 stretching, which takes me to the halfway point. Then I get to collapse on the couch for the weigh-in. :)

Looking forward to a little reading later, and then sleeeeep before I go back into morning workouts for the rest of the week. Jillian, here I come. (ow)

Sparkpeople quote of the night:

MYWEEGIRLS, made me remember a NSV I've been wanting to share but keep forgetting about it.

After the accident in 2008 due to my injuries I couldn't physically bend over to tie my shoes with my feet flat on the ground. I couldn't even put my leg up on my other leg to tie them. I literally had to have people put my shoes on for me and tie them.

Well, I'm happy report starting last week I was able to sit on the edge of my couch and bend over and tie my shoes with my feet flat on the ground. I know this may seem like a really small accomplishment to a lot of people. However, for me these past 3 years there have been MANY small tasks during my every day life that have been difficult as h*ll or just downright impossible. Its a small step in the right direction.

I'll go back and read replies in a bit but I wanted to share this blog I wrote. Feel free to skip it. I just needed to get my feelings out today. Next Friday will be difficult.

Peace and  to you, DisneyWedding2010--I can't fathom enduring what you have, and overcoming what you have overcome. As inkedupmomma said so eloquently, you fit in here, and you are supported here. You are wise to keep in touch with your feelings with your blog:hug:

And also

We're going to head to Downtown Disney tomorrow and get our annual passes renewed. We may also just spend some time down their relaxing. I'm hoping it will get me out of the emotional funk I've been in this last week or so. I also need to call Disney and get our Christmas trip planned for this year. ENJOY planning that trip!!!!!:cool1:
hey everyone, just curious, when do I submit the healthy habits and to who?

Hey inkedupmomma, Healthy Habits go to CC (cclovesdis). I have started to figure out this challenge my 3rd time around:rotfl2: and I realized that the very first page of the Mickey thread has all the informational posts. Here is the link to the HH info post: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=43587232&postcount=66

... not only did we walk home, but then we decided to grab our dog and continue to walk for another 45 mins, and I even volunteered to walk back into town knowing we'd have to walk back up the hill :) our total walk time was about 75 mins! Not bad considering I wasn't planning on exercising at all Saturday! Pretty sure this helped me stay within my calories despite the samples and big dinner!

I had another win on Sunday when I didn't go over my calories despite being at a baby shower full of yummy finger foods and desserts!

Another win, NOT buying the nasty cheese nachos that I live for at the roller rink yesterday! It took every ounce of will power I have ever had not to!

All in all I did well, and despite the no gym days, I have found new motivation in this thread and seeing my name on the top ten list! Amazing how something so little can make me feel so awesome!

YES!!! WTG on the NSV's, the will power at the rink & the extra long walk with Pup! I agree, seeing your name makes all the difference!!

I'm still getting up at 5:00 to workout in the morning. I set the alarm last night but forgot to turn it on but luckily I woke up at 5:12!

Woo hoo, way to beat that alarm clock that was trying to prevent you from working out! And major props for getting up at 5:00am:cool1:

My semester starts tomorrow so let the craziness begin! I'm already packing stuff for tomorrow as it's my long day. I leave home at 6 am for work. Work from 7:30 - 4:30 and then class from 6:00 - 8:00 I won't be home till about 9:45 - 10:00.

That is awesome! My new favorite show, I never really watched but one or two episodes before this challenge, but it is inspirational!! Great idea working out while watching it!

I never thought I would say this, but I'm actually enjoying jogging. Hubby and I started last Wednesday and we have jogged a mile 3 times, once our boys joined us. How cool is that that you are actually LIKING jogging!!! So cool! Same here--when I started I jogged without music, just me & my huffing & puffing, but once I discovered music & podcasts, I was a new woman on those roads, lol! And I love it that you & dh are doing a 5K together, trying to convince my dh to do the same thing--going to use you guys as an example:thumbsup2

My new favorite acronym, NSV!! And you have a bunch of them, keep them at the forefront of your mind! It will be worth it, it is worth it already, despite what that scale says. It'll move...:goodvibes

I also love working out while watching BL! I find it so motivating. I spend 45 minutes going hard on the bike, 3 minutes cooling down, and 5-10 stretching, which takes me to the halfway point. Then I get to collapse on the couch for the weigh-in. :)

You guys are making me feel bad for eating my hard-earned Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich during BL last night:rolleyes1

It totally does NOT seem small!! How many "small" things we can do in our lives that we take for granted! I am so happy for you!!:goodvibes

QOTD coming right up!

QOTD Wednesday, January 18: On This Day in Disney History in 1977, "the second episode of The New Mickey Mouse Club airs for the first time. Tueday's lesson is about self-control, and Donald Duck learns to control his temper in the cartoon short Self Control." Tell of a victory in this challenge when YOU got to use some self control, too!

Just like inkedupmomma passing up the roller rink nachos, did you pass anything up and score a little mental victory recently??

Great day to you all! Back late tonight!:thumbsup2

Thanks :) Skipping those nachos felt like someone beating me lol

I had another win last night when I was RAVENOUS!!! Not just ravenous but "dying" for chips, chocolate and just bad bad food! Idk how I did it, but I didn't eat anything! Well, I ate a cheeto, one single crunchy cheeto, then bathed my boy. When I was done with bath and story I was no longer "dying" for it and just really wanted it. I decided to sit on the couch and watch BL instead and winded up passing out, and never put another ounce of food in my mouth! I really need to find some healthy night time snacks...although I had a biggish dinner, so idk why I was even hungry to begin with? PMS, I suspect? anyone else have that prob?

Quick question? what does NSV stand for.....

Well, I was up at 3 due to the strong wind gusts. Fell back asleep at almost 5. I had re-set my alarm for 6. Postponed my dentist appt this morning as I have a headache and sniffles and just couldn't bear to sit there having them scrape my teeth for an hour! Dropped Izzie off and came home and pulled out a blanket and am re-watching Downton Abbey and uploading music to my Kindle Fire while sitting on the couch. Planning on napping later and will also workout later as well. Have to pick up Ash at school at 1:45 so I've got plenty of time to relax today. I was looking forward to today as a recovery day from the last month of craziness!

Time for some tea!

Morning ::MickeyMo

Well, I got woke up 2 hours earlier then planned. Dublin was pawing at my bedroom door. I tried to roll over and ignore her but it didn't work. I just finished up breakfast and need to get dressed for the day. I'm going to check the weather here in a few minutes and see what today is suppose to be like.

I don't really have anything planned today other then exercising and relaxing. Depending on the weather report we'll go to Downtown Disney to get our APs.

That is amazing and something to celebrate! I am so happy for you!! Please keep sharing your successes because they are HUGE and because it inspires and motivates us! :)

Quick question? what does NSV stand for.....

NSV= Non Scale Victory. And yes, I've been there with the whole dying for a chip thing. Its weird how that happens. I think it was PMS with me too. I have found these new things at the store called Special K Cracker Chips. They're 120 calories for 27 chips. They come in flavors like cheddar, southwestern (which is BBQ), and sour cream and onion. They taste just like chips! Good chips! And if you put them on a small plate, 27 of them makes a heaping plate full!

Well, I was up at 3 due to the strong wind gusts. Fell back asleep at almost 5. I had re-set my alarm for 6. I love days like what you have just described. A little "me time" before getting the kids, unwinding and reflecting. :)

I have found, with this challenge, and being totally 100% on my plan for the day of tracking everything I eat and drink, I am consuming a lot less alcohol. It had just become routine for every night while I was watching TV or winding down to have one, two, or dare I say sometimes even THREE drinks! Now I look back and think "No wonder my weight has been creeping up for the last couple of years!". We moved into a new house 2 years ago, and downstairs we have a bar with a 3 tap kegerator, so there is always draft beer. GAAAHHH! Instead of one or two a day, I now have one or two a WEEK! I simply don't have the WW points to spend on alcohol. I didn't set out to cut out alcohol, but when this challenge started I really counted every point I put in my mouth, and at the end of the day when I was hungry and spending my last 5 points, did I want a 5 point beer or did I want a 5 point Lean Cuisine? Or a Skinny Cow and a cheese stick? I can have a diet soda for 0 points, or a Crystal Light for 0 points. I just think its kind of a waste of points to drink them, when there are so many options for 0 point drinks, and I'm HUNGRY! lol. That is a NSV for me. I feel SO much better. No wonder I was getting up in the morning not feeling perky. I was feeling older than I really am. Now, with the better diet and lots more exercise, I am feeling great. Sometimes tired, but its a good tired, like I have earned it, and not a lethargic tired because I have been a sloth!! I love this challenge and this group for these reasons, and oh so many more!! Thanks everyone!!!
