I wanted to give a quick response to everyone's post for one day and it is hard! People that do this in their trip reports are awesome! I don't know how they keep up.
I caught the last few posts from yesterday. Team Mickey is the best!
I did not know this! I don't have leg cramps but my husband sometimes does. I'm going to get him to talk to his doctor about magnesium supplements.
Two good news items! So glad to hear you don't have lupus. My grandmother had it. Back then, they did not really know much about it. A friend of mine at work has it. She does great. Has regular contact with a great set of doctors to treat symptoms and such to keep problems at bay.
This is my goal for the week-planning the menu!! Please share it throughout the week if you can find the time.
Love your post and your plans! The comment about the amount of bread crumbs in the meatloaf just had me rolling in the floor with laughter. The most critical item on your list for today, I'm doing too: organize my purse!
Such a good post! I want to comment on every topic but I'll hold back. I do agree about the number of postings but I know it's all in fun when we encourage posting as part of the contest. Both teams are really all one group with the same goal to all be winners at losing! (I sound like I'm full of it but I just want us all to do great and at the very least have a good experience.)
I love hearing from cast members, past and present. Wow! I'm cheering for you to get back to doing the characters you want. Disney needs people like you and so do us fans!!
A good reminder about supplements, very important Team!
You put me to shame!
Great job! The number on the scale doesn't tell the whole story!
Sounds like you are having a rough time of it with this reaction! Hope you figure out what's causing it and get relief soon!
Are you up yet?? I hope your day is going as planned! I've got to get busy myself!
I second that about those who've lost a loved one.
This is so me! I shut down when overwhelmed and trying to do too much at once to take care of it. Sleeptime increase too and body just seems to shut off. I've gone through this over the past few years actually! Just now making real progress. My mind just kept worrying about everything instead of making progress on a few things.
We're with you through this!
Great post! I'm glad you're letting us know you feel the support from the Team!
Love ya right back!
Whew! What a great disaster day though! Sounds like fun! Those days are okay now and then and I think they are necessary for my sanity! Sounds like you're back on track.
I second that!

My absolutely FAVORITE supplement is magnesium. It is a natural muscle relaxer that will help your muscles recuperate after a work out. My husband works construction and it helps him 100% with leg cramps.

Thanks, I was really worried about having lupus.. I'm just not ready to have to deal with a diagnosis like that.
My husband I took our nieces to disney on ice earlier last year. OMG, it was fabulous!!!

Guess who just finished working out a good-looking menu for most of January? Me!!!!!!!!
The GF/CF (gluten-free/casein-free) cookbook I ordered came in earlier this week and I scoured it for new recipe ideas. I am hoping at least a few turn out well so that we have some new options. I love chicken and could eat it everyday, but my parents, well, not so much. They are okay with it a once or twice a week. I am hoping that adding some variety to our chicken options will help. I am also adding more turkey meals to the menu lineup and hoping that those meals taste great and won't get any complaints.
This is my goal for the week-planning the menu!! Please share it throughout the week if you can find the time.
I got our Team logo into my signature!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm a bit excited about my 2 accomplishments in the last hour or so.
I also wanted to say thank you for supporting me. I had a much more OP day today. My goals for tomorrow are to go to the gym to do a C25K run/walk on the treadmill and to drink all 64 oz. of water. I intend to be better about journaling as well. I think that cooking more of what we eat for dinner will help with that. I usually have no problem journalng breakfast, but then again, I make it entirely myself. I have no idea how much breadcrumbs my father put in the meatloaf last night.
Some of my other plans for tomorrow:
- making my bed (I made a mess out of it again.)
- cleaning my bedroom (Why is that every time I do something other than sleep in my bed I need to clean the entire room?)
- couponing
- wrap some Valentine's Day gifts
- relocate the clean laundry from the piles around the house to their proper locations
- organize my purse
Have a great, OP day tomorrow everyone!

Honestly, I'm okay with that. To me this thread is almost hard to keep up with. A lot of times I don't reply or read all the posts because I don't have time and then I feel like I am lost. In addition to being in a new teaching position, I will be taking four classes from three colleges this semester: One in Braille, one in teaching kids with disabilities, an ASL course through a community college, and a course in Deafblindness. I have watched these challenges before and sometimes I think that you will lose more people if you can't keep up with a thread. It's better, IMO ,to be smaller but have substance. Besides, it's more about the challenges than how many posts. IMO.
Welcome!
Welcome to you as well!
I am so excited for you! The CP was one of the best experiences of my life and I think about it a lot. You will truly enjoy it.
Thanks! It was my dream job and still is. I also did several other characters for the MK 3 O'clock parade. I was part of the opening cast of Disney Dreams Come True. At one point I was disapproved for one of my characters because I had gained some weight and with the harness I had to wear the costume didnt' look right. (I was still a healthy weight, but at the very top of my range.) I lost something like 15 lbs on WW and was able to be reapproved. I am so much heavier now that I know that I would not be able to fit into many of my old costumes. We do plan to move to Florida one day and I really want to go back to it, so that is my motivation.
At one point I lost 15 lbs on WW. It works well, but it just wasn't working for me which is why I switched to Jenny. I have had many of those days and you have that kind of "oh crap" moment when you go to track it. My downfall on WW was a mental one. Since it is weekly and your FPs are weekly, if I felt like I screwed up royally, I would just give up on the week or feel like I couldn't use FPs at all and feel deprived. I also had the issue that points were so tedious and it was so hard to count points at a place like the World where they have foods that are not cookie cutter foods. It does work for a lof people, so I'm not knocking it. I just came to realize that even though I was successful once, the multiple failed attempts since then show that it is not right for me.
1 lb is great! Although I realize it is not as excitign when you see larger weight losses. You have a good attitude at this point, so keep up the good work. We all fall of the wagon sometimes.
Honestly, no supplement can truly help with weight loss. Based on what I have read, the ones that "help", that help is so miniscule that is not going to make a noticeable difference. A multi should be more than enough, and unless you have a specific medical condition or deficiency that has been diagnosed, you have to be careful. The supplement industry and claims are not regulated. Numerous tests done by news organizations in independent labs have shown that in many cases you are not getting what you are after. They often times do not have the strength they purport, and some supplements in large quantities can actually negatively affect your health. I would discuss any supplements with your doctor. Right now I take a multi and fish oil because I do haev high cholesterol and it brought my cholesterol down. But I wouldn't take it if I did not have a cholesterol issue or if it had not been approved by my doctor.

Great Saturday, over 60 degrees today in "wintery" New Jersey! DH & I took the ds's to the local HS track, he jogged over a mile then played football with the boys, while I jog/walked 2.75 miles. Woo hoo to us! I will take this spring-like weather as long as Mother Nature will give it to us here in the Northeast--we already HAD snowdays off of school with our October 30 snowstorm that knocked power out in our town for days. Done for the year, thank you!
I also 30 Day Shredded today, Day 9! I'll feel all of it tomorrow, but yay todayI only lost .4 of a lb this week, but I know I've been eating much better, has to be due to a little muscle increase, 9 straight days of 20 min exercise...right??

You put me to shame!

QOTD: We too went to the zoo (the Kansas City Zoo) and it was amazing! We then went to the Seasons 52 that opened in the Country Club Plaza in KC. This was one of my favorite restaurants in Orlando. The menu completely changes every season and they have dishes that rotate out every week so that everything is prepared using fresh, seasonl ingredients. Hence the name. Everything is under 475 calories, and they were the ones that started the mini dessert craze. I was so happy when I drove by it on the way to the doctor as I had wanted to go to one ever since leaving Orlando.
I did have a Happy Meal for lunch ,but I balanced it out with all the walking and a healthier dinner. I was so mad at myself though. After I logged my food in the my system, I went to plug in my armband (similar to a bodybugg, but this one also measures time spent sleeping) and realized I had forgotten to wear it. After all of that walking! You can enter in what you do in off armband time, but I did underestimate it on purpose. I could have kicked myself.
My face looks a lot better today but itches like hell. It physically hurt when we went into the tropics building because the left side where I am having the reaction has been really warm and the building was very hot. The steroids are also making me feel a little funky. I hope it goes away soon.
LTS: I love your user name, but sometimes I read it as Loves to Crap. LOL. My doctor is aware of the reaction as she is the one who called in the methyl dose pack. I just did extensive food allergy testing and I see an ENT next week. I am going to talk to him and also nee to follow up with the integrative doc. I will then see from there if I make an appointment with my physician. I feel like I have been seeing her too often due to the sinus infection/bronchitis issue and I don't want to be the girl that cries wolf. Plus, it's money I have to pay every time I go. I do have an Epi Pen from when I was supposed to get allergy shots, which I haven't been able to do since you are not supposed to get them when you are sick and I have been sick non stop since the beginning of the school year. I need to get it refilled since I cant even find it as it was only precaution for when I get my shots.
Sounds like you are having a rough time of it with this reaction! Hope you figure out what's causing it and get relief soon!
QOTD: I haven't done a whole lot today. I went to bed early but was up watching tv. I didn't fall asleep til almost 2am. Then I woke up at 1pm! AHHHH!!
I have had a to do list in front of me for 3 days and have yet to do any of it. So my plan for tomorrow is to get up at a decent hour:
Laundry
Grocery shopping
Book hotel room
Exercise
Time on Disboards
Get meals and exrcise planned out for the new week
I'm sure there's more that needs to be done but that's all off the top of my head. I did get a mile walked today and a Sparkpeople video.
CC -- I'd be more then happy to give you any of the recipes I have. The only thing is I doubt any of them are GF. A few of them are family recipes.![]()
Everyone have a great OP day tomorrow. I need to get my butt to bed.
Are you up yet?? I hope your day is going as planned! I've got to get busy myself!
Happy weekend Team Mickey!
I wanted to let you guys know that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I just finished reading through the last 10 pages of posts, and I'm really impressed by how well everyone is doing. I have a hard time keeping up during the week with work and the kid's activities, but I do read every post, and I'm silently cheering all of you on!
I've had a good week. I got my exercise in every day except Thursday, and I did a good job with portion control. My biggest challenge is getting enough fruits and vegetables in--something I need to work harder on in the coming weeks. I was down 1.6 lbs at the weigh-in--a loss is a loss.
Hugs to those of you who have suffered the loss of loved ones and are working through that. I am impressed with your strength.
Keep up the great work everyone!
I second that about those who've lost a loved one.
Well, I could post what I was supposed to do, but I guess I'll go with the reality instead. I am not doing anything that is overtly healthy this weekend. I spent today in my jammies, feeling a little sorry for myself, and contemplating all the changes I want to make in my life. My food choices were abominable, and although I expect I should feel quite guilty, instead I just feel like it was inevitable.
So, tomorrow will be more of the same. The meals we have planned are not healthy, and no exercise for me, unless you consider awhen the playoff team I'm rooting for scores.
On the bright side, I am determined that by Monday, I am going to decide which element of my life I most need to change, and get started. I have so many things I feel I need to work on, I am overwhelmed. Plus, I had a pretty stressful week at work, and I got a few work e-mails today which made it seem like I was not getting a break. When I try to do to much, I just shut down. Literally, I will probably sleep 12 hours tonight. My body just shuts off when I have too much stress. With any luckI will wake up tomorrow, with a plan having come to me. I guess that would be the best thing to get healthy choices started!

Thanks for all you're doing, and I'm definitely feeling the love from our group!Everyone's been great, and I enjoy reading the posts. Like someone else had said about us being behind that fine feathery friend, if we posted any more, I couldn't keep up. I like that amount of posts, and also know it will level out over time.
I do agree that I want us to kick his fine feathery butt, though!
That is AWESOME! Way to go!Heaven knows I've read enough that I KNOW what to do to lose weight, I just can't apply it or am not disciplined enough to apply it sometimes. Anyway, I know where we eat out most. I'm going to do some pre-planning tomorrow so that if I know we go to a certain restaurant, I know what my options are there. I do think pre-planning is big and will help us all out.
Stay strong, Mickeys!
Great post! I'm glad you're letting us know you feel the support from the Team!
I haven't looked at the other thread.. I hate that they are having any drama over there. We are all here to support one another, and drama will make those of us who really need help and advice go elsewhere!! Love my mickey team!!!!
Love ya right back!
QOTD -What are you doing this weekend.
Yesterday was a disaster, it was DH's birthday so we ate (and drank) far too much and we also visited my parents which took my exercise time. Today is better so far, I have walked to church and back and have planned a nice healthy dinner for us all and hope to get in some more exercise once I finish the ironing (a job I hate).
Hope you are all having a good weekend.![]()
Whew! What a great disaster day though! Sounds like fun! Those days are okay now and then and I think they are necessary for my sanity! Sounds like you're back on track.

Thank you for all your hard work.I appreciate the commitment the Challenge leaders and volunteers put into running both the Mickey & Donald teams.
Jo
I second that!
