Good evening! I think eveybody is busy tonight. I didn't see any lights.

Just have to keep checking, it's only 7.30am there isn't it!!! And have a

If you want an early preview of part of my video check this out http://wdwnews.com/viewvideo.aspx?videoid=111901&siteid=1 I sound so snobby it's ridiculous and look scared :rotfl2:

Jo you look so cute. Very friendly for a Brit! ;) ;) I checked out your Q&A. Excellent job! I'm so glad and proud to know you.

WELL, Back from the DMV--Ab passed her learners test and got her permit (after 2 attempts---she got so nervous she was almost in tears...........she makes great grades but I think she got her grandma's text anxiety problem. :sad2: ) Anyhoo, now I need more medication......

Good for Ab!!

I need to stop living like a vampire.

I swear I'm up most of the night, then awake when KC leaves for work at about 8-9am. I read for an hour and then am tired again and sleep for a few hours. It's killing me. I feel like poo when I wake up the 2nd time, but getting 4 hours the first time isn't enough sleep! I dunno what to do! So annoying!

I am doing a whole lotta nuttin today. Catching up on my online carp mostly. Worked on an update for my TR (coming today) and am making a coconut cake in the crock pot this evening. We have so much leftovers I'm NOT cooking. I have leftover curry and leftover pork from yesterday. So I am gonna make some rice and we are having curry for dinner. I tend to pack them away in the fridge in portion sided Tupperware to make it easy to know whats in there.

My neighbor is moving her stuff out today- HALLELUJAH!!!

Maybe I can get some other things crossed off my to do list....:confused3

I hear ya on the vampire thing. I'm a mess. I love vacation but it really messes up my sleep schedule. Your dinner and cake sound wonderful. Good luck with the to-dos.

We had a two-hour delay for school this morning - it freezing-ly rained all night and there was ice everywhere - which nearly made me late for the iPod appointment. The hard drive was just dead. They could sell me the same thing refurbed, but for the same amount I got a new nano. It's rather a ton less memory, but I still didn't fill the new one, and it's got a much better warranty, and, well, it's CUTE!

I am out of several staples, so it's spaghetti and (frozen) meatballs tonight.

Cute is all that matters, right? MMMM, spaghetti/meatballs sounds good.

So, my MIL did have two blockages in her arteries. They said one's too small to worry about, but the other they had to put a stint in. She should be home tomorrow and back to herself in a week. Thanks for all the positive thoughts.

I'm glad she is doing better.

Mel - Great news about your eye! I hope you have a month with no eye problems.

Jodi - Sorry about your furbaby. I hope it's nothing major.

Ed and Mel - I'm glad you are getting "Cheapest Family in America". Just remember, they live out west and have a huge network of friends that really help each other out. They have some radical ideas that not everyone will want to try. I still found it funny and helpful.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Sounds like everbody is getting back into the usual grind. I wish you all a great 1st week back.
I'm off for 3 nights starting tomorrow. I'm going to concentrate on getting the checkered flag wall in the basement done this week. Doug thinks he is done with the wiring, so we need to go get insulation and drywall for the ceiling. The floor is going to be the hard part. We're using an epoxy with the colored flakes in it. They had carpet glued to the cement and it left a lot of gunk on it when we pulled it up. I'll probably resort to a window scraper to get some of it up. I have some super strength glue remover but it smells so bad, I'm afraid I'll end up passing out. Not a lot of ventilation down there. That would be quite a surprise for Doug to walk in after work and yell for me, only to find me sprawled out on the basement floor.:rolleyes1

Other than that I'll do the usual laundry and house cleaning and stopping in here to see what is up.
Take care everybody!

Wanna hear something funny?

My brother called this morning and asked if I wanted to DRIVE to WDW in August!! :faint::rotfl2: Dude, he's smoking something! :sad2:

Oh and I planted turnips yesterday on Animal Crossing. I have to water them daily or they'll die and I'll lose money. Silly people! :rotfl2:

Um OUCH!!! Thats a little too far with 2 small kids in the car and your parents!!!
How is Animal Crossing? I thought it looked really boring. but you make it sound fun..

So, my MIL did have two blockages in her arteries. They said one's too small to worry about, but the other they had to put a stint in. She should be home tomorrow and back to herself in a week. Thanks for all the positive thoughts. :goodvibes
Thats great to hear Dawn!
I'm going tomorrow morning to ride the bike and then starting the "beginners" aerobics class

He brought home a progress report from Geometry with a D on it! That's NOT cool. He needs to get that grade WAY WAY up before FL. I am taking him out of school for 5 days! What on earth are we going to do if he's still got a D????

Oh, I missed Carrie too! Yay~ a new tv is good! Congrats to you!
You can do it Mel!
SD will bring up that grade in no time! you have awesome boys Mel! :goodvibes

I made my coconut cake, smells good still needs frosting.
I didnt know you could make a cake in the crock pot? How?
Oh, I'm ordering that book Carrie's reading, the cheapest family in America, but right now I'm also reading:

MEL
I'm not reading that book...:confused3 someone else?

..................................
Ugg! it takes FOREVER to quote from the laptop! :sad2:

We went to the gym tonite...I didn't gain any weight, I stayed the same. which was fine. I did 10 minutes on the treadmill, 25 mins on the elliptical, and 25 minutes on the recumbent bike, just to kill time while Steve and Sam showered. it felt good...

Silly us :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: And drive to Florida :faint: how long would that take???
According to my GPS, 36 hours!!! :faint: He's smokin' crack, dude. :sad2:
Thanks  Could you see my profile video????
No, but maybe I missed it? All I could see what the group video - which personally I thought needed more Brit to it. ;)

I love Animal Crossing. I was going to get it for the Wii, but My Sims is so similar, I didn't.
Have you figured out about changing the dates and watering them each day? I'm a cheater. :lmao:

Maddie has My Sims Kingdom and I hate it. But I'm so in love with AC. I refuse to cheat Dawn. :snooty:
:rotfl2: Ok truthfully, I'm not smart enough to cheat! :rotfl2:

So, my MIL did have two blockages in her arteries. They said one's too small to worry about, but the other they had to put a stint in. She should be home tomorrow and back to herself in a week. Thanks for all the positive thoughts. :goodvibes
That's good news, Dawn. I'm glad she's going to be ok. :thumbsup2

SO should I even bother doing a report for the last trip we took once this one is done????
Yes, please! Even I don't always quote, I do read everyone's TR. :goodvibes
I still don't know why T was watering Turnips, guess it's one of those things that will remain a mystery.;)
I'll 'splain in May. ;)
HI
Hope everyone had a good 1st day back. Surprisingly Happy had no problem getting up this morning and was excited to go back to school. Bashful doesnt start back til tomorrow but he is looking forward to it too.
That's good. Maddie was a flippin' zombie when I woke her up. :lmao: She's tired now and it's only 7:45. Early to bed tonight and she'll be back on track. Evan goes back tomorrow, but he doesn't have to be there until 9am, so I'm not worried.
SD is practicing his guitar. He brought home a progress report from Geometry with a D on it! That's NOT cool. He needs to get that grade WAY WAY up before FL. I am taking him out of school for 5 days! What on earth are we going to do if he's still got a D????
He assures me that he'll get it back on track. I told him in exactly 2 WEEKS I'll be contacting his teacher to talk about the trip and what we need to do to get him prepared! I hope the teacher is receptive....
Well at least he's got the time to get it handled, right? I'm sure it'll be just fine. :thumbsup2

I made my coconut cake, smells good still needs frosting. I am waiting for KC to even leave work (which means it'll be a late one again) so i am about to heat up my food and chow down! I'll prob pop back in before bed!
CAKE!!!!???? Lalala I can't hear you lalala! Dude, I love cake. :lovestruc
Whaaaaaaaaaaaat :confused3
Nothing, I'm just clownin' ya! :clown:

Ed and Mel - I'm glad you are getting "Cheapest Family in America". Just remember, they live out west and have a huge network of friends that really help each other out. They have some radical ideas that not everyone will want to try. I still found it funny and helpful.
I bought that book - it's really great! Thanks! Yes, some stuff is kinda out there and to the extreme, but alot of it was very helpful! :goodvibes
Um OUCH!!! Thats a little too far with 2 small kids in the car and your parents!!!
How is Animal Crossing? I thought it looked really boring. but you make it sound fun..
Like I said to Dawn, I can't get into My Sims, but I just love Animal Crossing. :cloud9:

We went to the gym tonite...I didn't gain any weight, I stayed the same. which was fine. I did 10 minutes on the treadmill, 25 mins on the elliptical, and 25 minutes on the recumbent bike, just to kill time while Steve and Sam showered. it felt good...
You go girl!!

Are you student teaching at the school where you work now? I'm confused!!!

No I will be student teaching at Head Start. I was going to start way back around Thanksgiving. My job couldn't find someone to fill in my hours. Now they have no choice. I have to start teaching next week, since that is when the actual class for me starts. Since they didn't get someone to cover my hours weeks ago, I have to do a lot of hours at Head Start each week. This leaves them trying to cover even more of my hours at work. I will have to fit in to 7 weeks what I wanted to do over 11 weeks. Is this any clearer now?

*******************************************
I posted a photo on FB that is going to go on a shirt for my mom for her birthday. I will post it here also just to make sure you all see it. Let me know if I miss spelled anything or should make any type of changes to it :thumbsup2. Thanks.

If you look at it on FB you can get a bigger pic of it to see the lettering better.

Hi JoY I saw your video ! You sounded and looked GREAT!! I am now off to ask my Fav. MOM a question!!
Awww

It's rather a ton less memory, but I still didn't fill the new one, and it's got a much better warranty, and, well, it's CUTE! :rotfl:
The cute bit made me laugh :rotfl2:

Directly to you... :thumbsup2
Ok!!! That's good about your MIL

I did an update on my TR...if anyone's bored.....
I'll head over later and you know we'll read whatever you write :thumbsup2

Jo: Saw the video and read some of your posts. They sound good and you sound great in the video. I sent a question to you about ordering a cake.
I thought that was you :rotfl2:

I think I broke Facebook. :confused3
I'm sure you didn't :rotfl2:

Jo-Great video:thumbsup2
Thanks and hope you had fun on the Wii!

She just changed her status on FB! What is going on???
I just saw that :confused3 Jen2 tell us we need to know you're OK!!!!

Jo you look so cute. Very friendly for a Brit! ;) ;) I checked out your Q&A. Excellent job! I'm so glad and proud to know you.

:rotfl2: I can't see my profile video yet either :confused3

Very cute!

I've sat here dying my hair catching up on stuff, OK I've been watching my new Mom friends videos. Isn't it funny how the internet gets you so friendly so quickly, they're just like all of you in the fact that I class them as really good friends :goodvibes

/
Holy Hannah, it has been one crazy night at work. First I got hit by a campus wide power outage that lasted for 3 hours and resulted in my having to sort through over 300 alarms and a bazillion phone calls. Then once the power came back on we got a call about a huge steam leak in one of the residences. We had to evacuate the students, the ceilings were buckling from the water and the door frames were hot to the touch. OMG I am so glad I have the next two days off to recover!

I'm glad they're nice. :) And I need to dye my hair before the trip this weekend.

Wholly carp! I saw your status on FB and wondered what happened! What a night!

********************************************
Well, no delay today, so finally we're to "normal"!!! Of course it will only last today - they are talking 4-8 inches of snow tonight with 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ice on top - fun! Perhaps days of power loss again! Woohoo!!!!
:rotfl:

See, I'm being positive! :rotfl:

Maybe it won't be that bad, but I'm fairly sure there will be no school or at least a delay tomorrow morning.

I'm off to tennis in a few - and that I really am happy about! :goodvibes D is going to the office as he's off starting tomorrow. I think the guy is coming to pick up the oxygen machine that my grandma needed here sometime today, but he hasn't called. I need to go to the grocery store so that we can have dinner tonight - now I'm even out of spaghetti supplies! :rotfl:

So, I'll see you later! Happy Tuesday! :cool1:

Morning Fockers! :goodvibes

Sorry to hear of your weather, CE. We are unusually warm for this time of year. No wonder the boys are sick

It's official, I broke it.

Not much going on here today...laundry, school work, and DH has a soccer game tonight. I'll be in and out.

Have a great day everyone!

You can do it Mel!

Thanks Carrie. I'm a bit nervous, but I'm sure I'll be fine. SD will probably get the grade up to a B by the trip, and that's ok with me. As long as the teachers don't have an issue...

I must have mistaken you for T....someone is reading it!

Good girl at the gym. You stayed on the elliptical for 25 mins????????? OMG, I can't even think about that! I'd die!

Well at least he's got the time to get it handled, right? I'm sure it'll be just fine. :thumbsup2

I'm glad you have MORE friends! They can call you the "Friendliest Mum in England".....LOL

We're all so proud of you, and I love telling people about the site and then saying, "Yeah, Jo from England? She's one of my BFF's...." :worship:

Ly!

Ce, have fun at tennis. I'm off to the gym as well. Hope you get some good alone time before the next snowstorm hits! :sad2:

I'm completely baffled about what's going on with me. I sleep great all night until about 4:30 am, then I'm wide awake and then the panic starts. Heart racing, mind whirring. I don't know what the heck is wrong with me! I got up with SD at 6, and as soon as he was on the bus, I took a 1/2 of a Xanax. I HATE medicine. I don't even like to take tylenol but I'm feeling so beat up by this!
I went back to bed for about 30 mins. and then got up with Gus. It's better now, and I'm hoping that going to the gym will just knock it out of me but why is this happening???
I am resolved to finding a good therapist and if necessary taking a daily med that will help keep me from getting to this point. I don't love the idea but I can't stand the never knowing when it will hit! For now, I'm not sharing any of this with SD. I'm worried that he'll get upset if he thinks I'm struggling...does that make sense?
Sorry to blab on and on. It helps so much to have you guys to talk to about it. My mom, and really Bob too, doesn't really understand what I mean when I describe it. So, they say things that they THINK will help but really don't, IYKWIM?

SO, anyway!
Tonight I think we'll have burgers. Why the heck not? It's only 15 degrees out. Why NOT fire up the grill! :confused3 :rotfl:

I'll be back after the gym. Have a great morning!

MEL

When you say grill do you been BBQ? Grill here is just the way we cook stuff it's part of our oven :rotfl2:

Well ds was up at a decent time today. He was not real good about getting to bed last night and I was a mean mom and was a little firmer than I planned on being. He would not stay put and I told him in a not so nice tone that he needed to stay in bed. It is one thing to not be real tired because of a nap, it is another to completely disobey being told to stay in bed. I even gave him a little bit of tv time because of the late nap. Sure enough after the firm talk. He stayed in bed and was asleep in about 10 minutes.

Funny little story or at least to me and my warped mind.

My mom was over the other day and points to something on the coffee table and asked if it is a piece of poop. I look and sure enough it looks like a tiny piece of cat poop. I go over and realize it is just a coco puff that my son dropped while snacking. I tell him it is a coco puff but tell grandma yes to her question and then pop it in your mouth. He does and my mom about fainted. Ds and I laughed and told her what it was.

Oh Mel  , I was hoping that it was because of the eye doctor and you would feel better now.

The grill comment cracks me up. It must be a Michigan thing. When I was a child my mom had a wind blocker built so she could use the grill in the cold when it was windy. Now she has it on her front porch so it is were she can get to it in the winter. She makes some great ribs on it no matter what the weather. I should take a pic of her in her winter coat all bundled up and grilling.

MEL

Hi Mel! I understand exactly what your talking about! I've been there. I was going though the same thing thing 13 years ago. I was confused, and didnt know what was wrong with me. its a hard time. you already have some professionals in your corner and thats a great start! Dont be afraid to use them. dont be afraid to use medication either..it doesnt mean that you cant handle yourself or that your a failure at anything! they are used to get your chemicals to balance. You'll do okay girlie...I like your idea of the excersise to help.

I love to start the grill in winter...it smells so good! :cloud9:

Just a quick note to say I am up and heading to Tink's school for drop off and a meeting. We'll see how much of my normal activities I can do without over extending myself. I am feeling much better, but still have a tough time breathing and am somewhat exhausted.

Wish me luck! Be back later to catch up.

Good Morning! I hurt this morning! I think I overdid the workout a bit yesterday! Plus, I'm having a few "intestinal" issues this morning, so for now, I'm not planning on hitting the gym today. Instead, I'll workout by carrying the vacuum cleaner up and down the stairs and carrying sheets and towels to and from the washer, etc. while cleaning my house! How's that for creative exercise?

I also have to watch my neighbor's little girl this afternoon. She's the one who's battling breast cancer. She starts her radiation treatments today and they scheduled her for 2pm. Her DD4 is in preschool until 1pm and her normal timeslot will be around 11am, but for her first appointment, they needed extra time. So, I'll have the cutie pie this afternoon for an hour or so. :cutie:

Mel -  I hope you figure out what's going on and get some help. And I agree with Carrie. There's no shame in taking medicine for something that's off in your body!

Jo - I checked out your video and questions yesterday. :thumbsup2 Great job!

Lessa - Sounds like a crazy night. Hope everything gets back to normal quickly. We had a few power outages last night, but they were more like flickers. Not sure why though.... I woke up to a dusting of snow.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! Where's Katt?? Anyone seen her??

Morning All!!
Mel I do understand I have been there ! Am much better now adn meds do help !!
Jo My question was answered , but I'm not sure by who??:confused3
I added more friends on FB I think But I also accidently ignored Jordan!!:scared1: Can I fix that ????

That is just crazy. Hope everyone is o.k. At what time did you have to do this and where do you put the students when something like this happens?

Yeah nobody was hurt or anything, just major water damage to part of one of the residences and major annoyance and stress for me.

The power outage happened at exactly 01:42am, I know because I was in the middle of watching Gossip Girl when the lights in all the rooms around me went off and then the alarm computer started ringing like crazy and I started to get bombarded with calls telling me the power was out, thanks I kinda figured that out on my own! Lucky for me I am the most important person on campus so I never lose power as I run off a generator plus the main power supply so while everybody else is in the dark I have full power. :lmao: The power outage wasn't even the universities fault, one of the cities transformers blew.

The whole steam/water thing happened at 6am after power had been restored for a whole hour. Basically they evacuated the students on the floors effected down to the main lounge until they could get the steam and water shut off, then all but a few were allowed back to their rooms, those not allowed back had to wait a few hours as their rooms were where most of the water collected in the ceiling and they didn't want to risk injury should the ceiling give out.

I shouldn't complain, most nights my job is super easy but then nights like this come around where all hell breaks loose. I am just lucky it wasn't a weekend or I would have been having to deal with drunk students and medical assists on top of all that!
