Jo !Sorry about you being upset by your Dad !! So your sister moves on Monday !! You will miss her but even more of a reason to visit the States and of course you could then go to Disney.It's only about an 18hour drive !!

Hi all,

We had an OK Christmas, the girls didn't wake till 6.45am which is normally unheard of. They loved all their pressies. I then went to Church with my friend Louise and the others then met us afterwards at her house for drinks and all the kids played on the Wii which was fun. Dad said a few things in his normal jokey way that annoyed me though.

We then went to Emma's today, she leaves for NYC on Monday so it was the last time seeing her, well not long after we arrive I just started having a huge go at my Dad (I never ever say anything and I've always been a huge Daddy's girl) and it turns into me screaming and crying at him over things that he keeps saying as jokes, he's done it since I was tiny, like he always called me ugly (he didn't mean it just his way) but I've always believed him and hate how I look. So today was just a build up :sad:

Anyway he was really upset but I doubt it will stop him in the future as he really doesn't know he's doing it!!!

:grouphug:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grrrrrr. I have been asleep for I don't know how long and T calls to tell me what a fabu time he's having in Vail. :rolleyes: I told him to go back to the snowbunnies and leave me alone.
I have some sort of migrainey thing...but I'm coming out on the other end of the headache part...and now I just feel like poo.
I'll pop back in later...if I can stand to see the light again.
:hug:
:santa: Christmas at MIL's was not bad but I'm ready for WDW and DCL.
We're in Butner, NC until tomorrow. I have had some of my NC favs like Cheerwine. All I really lack is some Carolina BBQ. :woohoo: Maybe later today.
I hope everyone had a great holiday.
If I didn't feel like poo, I'd drive to Butner to take you some BBQ.
Well everyone seems to be taking a break from the DIS today
I did see Mo! Hi Mo!!! Glad you had a good holiday :goodvibes
And V popped in,so glad to see you like your old self again with your main man by your side. :goodvibes
Janet you get so much done! Score on the deals @ WalMart :thumbsup2 Good luck on getting that DVC.
Jo: :hug: :hug: Sometimes I don't think parents realize what their words do to their kids no matter how old we are. :hug: :hug:
Kat: KC is a smart man for not buying jewelry! :laughing:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So I'm still here chillin'. Still watching Heroes, but got distracted by surfing the web :surfweb: for a bit. The boyfriend is coming over and Kat's pizza sounded so good, that we're going to make it a pizza night with some online movies. :3dglasses

I think I'll go bake a cake for dessert. Yum!

TTFN! :tigger:

Jo, that's so terrible. I'm sorry you had a bad day with your dad. My mom says the most incredibly stupid things sometimes! I guess this is how they get revenge for us being bratty teenagers? :confused3

Well, you're NOT ugly, so you just ignore him. We love you! :lovestruc

If I haven't said it lately, I'm so very thankful for this amazing group of friends. You all are the BEST! :grouphug:

So glad Leo is home. :goodvibes I'm thankful for you too!

I am having my family over tomorrow and then friends on Sunday. Hopefully I will get to check back in later tonight or tomorrow!

HAve a good one everyone!:goodvibes

Dude, you exhaust me! Take a break!

Nothing new here. We are supposed to leave for a movie in 10 mins. Poor NotBob has been sick to his tummy all day but he's insisting we're going. He and Gus are seeing Bond and I'm FINALLY going to see Twilight! OMG. I can't believe it!!!

No plans here for NYE. We usually have Bfast at Bob and Peg's on NY day though...

If I didn't feel like poo, I'd drive to Butner to take you some BBQ.

Awww. Slate, you are too sweet. Hope you feel better soon.

Good Morning All! Just back from my day after Christmas annual bargain shopping!! Have paper, boxes, tags, lights, lighted snowman, along with a slew off those gift sets for all the kids and grownups can't beat 50% off . Well that is till Target has their 90% off sale !!Stopped for breakfast at Bob Evans . A really good morning !!

DD & I had Bob Evans for a late lunch. We then went to visit a friend who had a quadruple bypass on Monday.

I've been sleeping on and off all day. I still feel like poop.

Well, Eric and I went and spent our Christmas money today on a new HDTV for our bedroom. We got a 32" Samsung at a really good deal. Best Buy had them for $699 and we got it for $478 at Fry's. Eric thought it was probably a misprint in the flyer, but they honored it and we got the last one! :banana:

Otherwise, I baked more cookies today and have got to clean my house for tomorrow. Eric's parents and brother and family are coming for Christmas. We're not doing a traditional meal though. We're ordering pizza! Neither me nor my SIL wanted to mess with cooking. And MIL is not able to do anything, so we're ordering pizza and doing presents. I did, however, bake a birthday cake for Jesus, as this is our traditional dessert for Christmas.

Hugs to everyone who is feeling under the weather :hug: :hug: :hug: . I think Eric is finally feeling better today. I just hope I don't catch anything.

Jo - I know exactly how you feel about your dad! My dad used to do somewhat the same thing until right before our wedding when I blew up and told him that he didn't even have to come and that I'd have my brother walk me down the aisle. At that point, he realized how much he had hurt me through the years and he's been different ever since. Sometimes they just need to hear the truth! :hug:

Howdy friends--
I'm headed to DC in the morning--going for a quick 2 nite visit. We have tickets at the Kennedy center to see Legally blonde-the musical so I'm excited!! :cool1:
Also got tickets to see the US capitol (You can book them online now!). Ab wants to see the Indian museum too....and BA wants to see the real Gettysburg Address so we got lots to do in 3 days!//////// plus I gotta get packed. :rolleyes:

So.....I'll soon be driving north--I'll wave at you Katt!

Boy oh boy is it quiet around these parts......

Look theres a tumbleweed rolling on through...

I'm about to play some mindless games and listen to some backpodcasts I have while KC plays on his XBOX360.

Hope everyone has a great night:banana: !

Well, looks like everyone had a wonderful holiday, sans for a few hiccups... :goodvibes

We just got back from Andy's sisters house to exchange gifts. I got a pressed coffee pot, just like Boma. I love it!

Jo - I know how you feel, hun. :hug: My dad does the same thing. We got into about the Christmas card and I ended up in tears. He says things without thinking sometimes and it drives my up the wall. :headache: Hopefully you've opened his eyes and he'll be more cautious with his words.

:grouphug: to all the sickies! Take care of yourselves!

Andy, Maddie, Evan and I are patiently waiting for Waldo & TE to head to bed so we can try out Mario Cart on the Wii. I beyotched and moaned about buying the darn thing, but we're having so much fun with it, I'm happy Andy didn't listen to me. :rotfl:

Good night, all! :goodvibes

Hey, I saw that tumbleweed blow through two days ago! It's REALLY quiet! LOL

So, Twilight was really good. I liked it, but the poor husband of the lady next to me. :sad2: He didn't care for it, I think! He kept saying things like, "Oh, give me a break!" "Puh-lease." "Good Lord." LOL. Bob was very amused later when I told him about this guy! He said, "So, I wouldn't have liked it?" HA! Well, it's not really a "guy" movie, that's for sure. I am just glad that I finally got to see it, as I'm sure I'm the last person on EARTH that did!

Saw some GREAT scenes! A new movie with Nic Cage (OH! Bestill my heart!) called Knowing that looks really good! And the scenes to Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince! I could barely contain myself when they showed those! WOW!!!!

But, the real story was the MALL. This theatre is not our favorite. It's in a mall that USED to be really nice. ( I actually worked there for a brief time a few years ago ) Well, there is a HUGE gang problem now. I mean HUGE. When I left the theatre (my movie got out about an hour before Bob and GUs') there were 10-12 police PLUS mall security. They were checking to see if you had tickets, and then they were checking ids. They had a LARGE group of teenagers there, mostly URBAN looking (I AM NOT racist, in the least but you know gang kids when you see them, right?) standing off to the side of the theatre entrance. It was very unsettling as some of the kids were right up in the police men's faces yelling. I quickly left the area and went to the counter at Johnny Rocket's for a soda. I asked the kids working there, if this was always like this??? They said, yeah, on most nights (it was only 9 PM!!!) and that it's gotten WAY worse over the last couple of months. I said, "So they have to have a dozen REAL cops here every night???" They said, "No, that was because they had a knife fight about 30 mins ago and they had to mop up blood and everything!" OMG.

So, needless to say, I won't be going back to that mall at night. I cannot imagine how they could let it get to this point. It's so sad. Wose, there were a LOT of kids who I KNOW had parents drop them off to see a movie. I would have probably let SD do it too. NOT NOW!

Whew, so that was a ramble. :rotfl:
Sorry. Bob and Gus are sleeping. SD went to a friend's house last night. The thermometer says 47 degrees, it's incredibly foggy out! The weather is CRAZY. I have to get both boys to music lessons for 11 am today.

I'll pop in later!
MEL

Morning everyone!

Well, I've got Eric's family coming over in two hours to open presents, so I'm up cleaning, straightening, etc. It's almost time for Christmas #3 at our house!
:santa:

It's sorta sad, but I'm over it already. I know the girls are excited, but I'm just tired. I keep reminding them that they've already received the big present from Eric's parents. They paid for the Disney on Ice tickets from a few weeks ago. I just know that they'll get upset that they didn't get as much as their cousins when the time comes though. Plus, with my MIL being in the hospital for a week, I'm not sure if she finished her shopping or not. I offered to help, but she never called. Oh well, cash works fine for us, right?

Today's also our anniversary (#11). I'll try to get some wedding pics scanned and posted later this evening. Eric is working the ambulance tonight, so I should have some time.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Thanks for the hugs everyone, I am such a Daddys girl and he loves me to bits it's just his way to be jokey. I know I should be used to it, I have had it for 35 years :rotfl2: but it just got too much that yet again he was saying that he loved Emma buying his presents rather than me when they were from the pair of us as he knew he'd get more as she's more generous, ie rich. Well maybe I am tight but I always spend exactly the same amount on Mum, Dad, MIL and FIL. Is that wrong??? Plus he said this to my friend :sad2: Anyway I hate cross words and have thought of nothing else all day :sad1:

Mine was elevated to new levels of joy when Leo came home yesterday, hugged me hard and said it was "the best Christmas ever" and he was "so happy to be home." :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes
That is fantastic V :goodvibes

Jim went up to bed, he's sick:sad2:
Hope he's better today!

tomorrow we have a birthday thing to go to at the bar we all frequent, and we are going to hit the World Of Disney store to check out the sales on the way! The tree topper KC got me is gold and I wanted a silver one, so we will be returning that too.
Have fun!

So your sister moves on Monday !! You will miss her but even more of a reason to visit the States and of course you could then go to Disney.It's only about an 18hour drive !!
Only 18 hours :faint: Rosie remember I'm English we think a 3 hour drive is a long way :rotfl2:

I have some sort of migrainey thing...but I'm coming out on the other end of the headache part...and now I just feel like poo.
:hug:

Well, you're NOT ugly, so you just ignore him. We love you! :lovestruc
That was when I was younger not now, he always called me and my sister ugly, he didn't mean it and Emma didn't take it to heart but I'm a different story, when you're told something over and over then you believe it don't you!!!

I've been sleeping on and off all day. I still feel like poop.
:hug:

OMG how funny that M & E are also waiting till their Grandparents go to bed :rotfl2:

So, needless to say, I won't be going back to that mall at night. I cannot imagine how they could let it get to this point. It's so sad. Wose, there were a LOT of kids who I KNOW had parents drop them off to see a movie. I would have probably let SD do it too. NOT NOW!
Wow Mel that sounds scary :scared:

The wii fit is a huge success, it's so funny seeing David hula hooping and doing step aerobics :rotfl2:

Good Morning all. I was up early making meatballs and gravy. Getting ready for dinner #3 here. I can't wait to go to work Monday so I can rest :faint::lmao:

Glad everyone seems to be on the mend:goodvibes

Mel - :eek:

I'll check back later!

First...Mel...how scary! Do NOT go there again at night! :hug:

And Jodi...Happy Anniversary darlin'! :hug:

Jo...well, you know my relationship with my mother. She doesn't usually say things in a "jokey" manner though. :confused3 I sympathize, girlfriend. And :hug: I'm glad you said something.

I'm feeling better. Not 100%...but the headache is gone. I thought my head was going to explode.

Quiet day here. I'm hoping to drag Tera to see Benjamin Button. Brad Pitt. Yummmm. :teeth:
