Mel I don't blame you about the Mall!!:scared1:
Jo you were right to tell your Dad how you feel!! Whether he means it or not , it still hurts feelings !!
I have joined the sickees !! Called off today and am resting and Dissing , my head hurts, my tummy is Yuck and I am still tired after 14 hours sleep!!:headache:

Thanks for the hugs everyone, I am such a Daddys girl and he loves me to bits it's just his way to be jokey. I know I should be used to it, I have had it for 35 years :rotfl2: but it just got too much that yet again he was saying that he loved Emma buying his presents rather than me when they were from the pair of us as he knew he'd get more as she's more generous, ie rich. Well maybe I am tight but I always spend exactly the same amount on Mum, Dad, MIL and FIL. Is that wrong??? Plus he said this to my friend :sad2: Anyway I hate cross words and have thought of nothing else all day :sad1:

I don't think it's wrong. At work we had a gift exchange on Tuesday(I work with Life Skills kids at the High School Level). I was made fun of because I asked for things I need, like a draft stopper, gift cards to a grocery store/gas station. They said that I asked for 'practical' things. If they had to live on my salary they wouldn't be laughing. On Jan. 9, which is our next payday, I'll be getting paid for four days. They were saying this in a joking manner, but still, my feelings got hurt.

Hello I'm Back....

I'm tired but glad to be home. Gonna run out and get a bite to eat. Back later.

I'm here, Mel. Although I'm about to fall asleep on my keyboard.

We had Christmas with Eric's family today. His brother and SIL have four boys. They are great kids and very well behaved, but a bit wilder than my girls! The oldest is 7 and the youngest is 7 months. The baby slept for quite awhile, but the other three (7, 5, and 3) and my two girls (7 & 4) ran around the house screaming most of the afternoon.

The MIL and FIL made it over too. She's feeling better, but still in some pain, I think. As my SIL said, I'm not sure she'll ever be the same (mentally, emotionally, etc.). My BIL called the police officer that responded to the wreck and found out that the driver that hit them did NOT have any alcohol in her system, but she did have prescription drugs. She was still charged with driving under the influence and I guess they're running tests to compare the levels of drugs in her system with the amount prescribed by her doctor. Either way, she should not have been driving!

Anyway, I am exhausted. Eric is driving the ambulance tonight (nice way to celebrate our anniversary, huh?). I think I'm going to put the girls to bed and head that way early tonight too.

But I'll be around for a litte while, if anyone is around.

Jodi, did they say what KIND of prescrip. drugs? I mean, there are plenty that even if you take the amount you SHOULD, say NOT to drive a car on them!

Your poor MIL. I am glad she got out of the hospital though. That has to help her feel somewhat better, right?

Happy Anniversary! (I know it probably doesn't feel like it though...) Maybe a good nights sleep is the best thing for you!

You've been going and going lately. Are you guys having this WACKY weather????

MEL

Didn't say what kind, but that's exactly what I was thinking. I was on percoset and/or vicodin last fall and I would not have even thought about driving on either of them! In fact, there were stickers on the bottles telling me not to drive! I'm sure whatever it was, she was not supposed to be driving!

I stopped by the MIL's house on Christmas to deliver dinner to them and I told DH when I got home that if it wouldn't have totally offended her, I would have offered to come clean her house. It's a disaster right now. Part of it is that she can't do anything right now and the FIL doesn't clean and he's pretty messy. But even if she were able to do it, she's just not that good at keeping things clean. What we really need to do is get one of those organization shows to come clean up their house! And hire a maid!

And yes, our weather is quite wacky! I think it got up to 66 degrees today! How crazy is that? And I've got a bit of a sinus headache too, which is probably due to the weather as well. I'm definitely going to bed early!

So, what are the boys doing tonight?

Video gaming, as usual! Bob's actually trying to rebuild one of the computers down there because the hard drive crashed. I don't know! :confused3 Stupid computers!

We are going to watch a movie tonight. I plan on sending both boys to bed a bit early tonight. They both had late nights last night (SD at a sleepover and Gus at the movie with Bob) so they need some rest.

The housecleaning/organizing thing is a great idea. Can you get other family to pitch in? It's not that expensive to have Merry Maids come, I don't think?

I've had a weird stuffy runny nose all day. It got to 59 degrees here. Now we are about to have some thunderstorms, according to the Weather Channel. That's pretty nutty weather for December!

But, I'm thrilled because we had a few inches of ice on the driveway that we just couldn't get off and it was trecherous to walk on!!! Now we're down to pavement again. I think they are predicting snow for tomorrow. :sad2:

Wish I could move to Vegas!

MEL:banana:

The girls are fighting now, but that's par for the course too! They've come down off the sugar high from today and are getting tired and cranky (just like mom). They need to go to bed early tonight too.

I think we may try to convince the MIL to call a housecleaning service, but the only problem is that there's so much stuff in the house that you can't tell what is trash and what isn't. Let's just say that neither MIL or FIL like to throw anything out! In fact, DD7 lost a Nintendo DS game in their office on Christmas day (brand new, of course) and they can't find it anywhere! I think it must have bounced into a bag or box full of stuff. I think I'll probably just buy her a new one, since I don't think we'll ever find it!

We had ice on Tuesday, but it all melted on Wednesday when we had upper 40s and rain all day. It hasn't rained much today, but we had thunderstorms yesterday. I think I read that it's supposed to be in the 30s tomorrow?? :sad2: Oh well, I plan on watching football all day tomorrow!

Man, I wish NASCAR was on tomorrow! I hate that they take 2 months off! (that's so selfish of me....I know! LOL)

Well, I am going to see how Bob and the kids are doing.

You get some rest!

MEL:goodvibes

Bye LL

======================================================

Evening Fockers. It has been a crazy couple of days here! My family just left, Jimmy is watching A Chipmunk Christmas before bath/bed so I';d thought I'd pop in and see what was going on with my Focker friends:goodvibes

We have my girlfriend and her husband and 2 kids coming over tomorrow for dinner and so the kids can exchange presents and then thier daughter, who is Jimmy's age is staying over for a sleepover. I can't wait to go back to work on Monday so I can get some rest :faint:

After tomorrow it should wuiet down for the rest of the holidays. I am working Monday and Tuesday, then on Wednesday we are taking Jimmy to see Disney on Ice on New Years Eve day. The show is at 11:00--I want to be home before all the crazies get on the road! After that I plan on doing NOTHING on New Years Day, except maybe sleeping---ALOT!

So, who's aroundpopcorn::

I know just about all of you have signed off for the next few days, but I did want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and continued Happy Hanukkah. It has been a CRAZY day at my house, but all is well and I am reminded of just how great this group of people is. It brings a whole new meaning to "it all started with a mouse." I am grateful to have you all as a part of my life.

Enjoy!

Oh, Kate. I feel exactly the same way. You are my saviors, my sounding board, my support and my amusement. I can't imagine what I did before... :grouphug:

JUntil she got home a few minutes ago. I smiled and said "What happened to our agreement?" Gramma: "What agreement?" "That we'd only buy each other one thing this year to save money." Gramma: "Well, YOU'RE the one who gave me a whole LIST of things to get you." "Uh, that was list of ideas - never did I ask or expect you to get everything on it!"

I'm sitting here crying my eyes out, feeling like a fool and she's slamming doors. Another fantastic holiday with my mother. All I want to do right now is get in the car and drive until I'm too tired to see. I hate fraking Christmas.

Oh, honey. I see it got better, but I'm so sorry.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that it's not THEIR fault that we prefer our own company to our family's. Same with church. (Some here know that I'm not a "believer" and love me anyway...LOL) What do you tell your kids though? Gramma and Papa make me crazy? I need to drink ALOT when I see them? Church just isn't my "scene?"

I understand. Of course, we're far away, but we COULD make the effort to go to IL for Christmas - but how do we explain that they'd make us miserable and stressed, trying to split between the families?

These past few months have been difficult for us...and I always knew I could come here...to all of you...and I would have not only an ear, but some sound advice and comfort.

You ladies and gents rock!

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Festivus!

Group hug!

Love you!

I almost completely messed up! I went to go to bed and I remembered Santa had not come yet!

Oh, no, but at least you remembered!

merry christmas everyone!! just a drive by!! just have to say one thing.... i hate moon sand!!!!

Oh, yeah - I would have warned you off that... It SUCKS. :rotfl:

Funny story:

We always give the kids all the toy books: Target, Toys R US, etc. DS9 just doesn't request much, so when I saw a Thomas set circled, we bought it. This morning, he said "I think Santa dropped this off at the wrong house; it was probably meant for next door." (they have a DS6) So I said, "but didn't you circle it in the Target paper?" DD9 chimes in with, "no, I circled it; I circled everything."

Oh, no! :rotfl:

O.K. Fockers... Christmas is over
back to chatting.... Mel is Bored
I am most likely out till Saturday evening. I am going back home ( to Ky) today
I lost another relative and the funeral is tomorrow. at least the weather is warmer.

This time it's on my Dad's side of the family.. and finally I have first cousins on that side... that have lost BOTH of their parents. I'm the baby but my folks died first..It's one of Dad's sisters. She was 91.. and all of them are OLD like this... and older... so this may be a VERY LONG YEAR... Dad always said that "when we start going... we are all going to go at once.

Hope Santa was good to all of you... I'll talk about my stuff later.

Anyway... so around 12:00 Sarabeth and I are leaving.

Katt, I'm so sorry, but glad you are home safe.

We then went to Emma's today, she leaves for NYC on Monday so it was the last time seeing her, well not long after we arrive I just started having a huge go at my Dad (I never ever say anything and I've always been a huge Daddy's girl) and it turns into me screaming and crying at him over things that he keeps saying as jokes, he's done it since I was tiny, like he always called me ugly (he didn't mean it just his way) but I've always believed him and hate how I look. So today was just a build up

Anyway he was really upset but I doubt it will stop him in the future as he really doesn't know he's doing it!!!

Anyway hope everyones had a nice Christmas :rotfl:

Oh I also just got an e-mail to say my original signed WDW contracts never arrived even though I sent them on Friday 12th December  So I've got to print a set off and mail them again but we've run out of ink for our printer!!!!

Oh, Jo. I'm so sorry.

Mine was elevated to new levels of joy when Leo came home yesterday, hugged me hard and said it was "the best Christmas ever" and he was "so happy to be home." :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Oh, that's great! :goodvibes

Anyway I hate cross words and have thought of nothing else all day :sad1:

I'm so sorry, love.

The wii fit is a huge success, it's so funny seeing David hula hooping and doing step aerobics

::yes:: We had a drunken session after our Christmas dinner with our friends, and apparently I'm much better at the football heading with wine than without. Who knew? :rotfl:

The MIL and FIL made it over too. She's feeling better, but still in some pain, I think. As my SIL said, I'm not sure she'll ever be the same (mentally, emotionally, etc.). Yikes!

Oh, LL. Hang in there, and thinking of her time with Michael is a fantastic attitude. :goodvibes

Um, I think I might, too! :rotfl:

The one I know?

********************************************

I read everything but just couldn't quote it all.

Happy Holidays, everyone!

My parents and grandma arrived late last night - got to a point where it was silly to stop and spend money on a hotel, but was a long driving day, if you KWIM.

Luckily, the weather was good all around.

Grandma is OK, but not wanting to move much. Still, she's here and the oxygen machine is working, so...

We did our 2nd Christmas with them today.

We had our neighborhood party Wed. night, which was fun. We came home around 10:15 and D & I were up until about 1:00 wrapping and setting up. The boys woke up around 7:20 Christmas Day (not too bad!) and were really happy with their Santa gifts (lots of Wii stuff, including the Fit, and an RC helicopter, etc.) and then our friends came over around 4:00 for a warmed up ham and so forth (lots of wine.) They left around 8:30 Thursday.

We got up and went skiing fairly early Friday morning, then my parents came Friday night. I have not had a lot of computer time or anything else, but it's all good!

I got a nice tennis shirt from D's dad & stepmom, and she painted us a couple of nice paintings (she has sold some art) off snapshots of ours from the France trip. D's stepdad sent a ridiculously large check, which is always nice. My parents got me a few shirts, a robe, a book, some socks, some earrings... It was nice!

With the kids, D & I all agreeing on skis for our gifts, there wasn't anything "big" other than that, but that is fine.

I won't be on much. My parents are probably staying through Friday. D has a trip to Vero from the 1st to the 5th, and then it's a week of school before heading off to IL for the birthday party ordeal. I'll be around from the 1st... ;) Since he's flying, I'll be on a lot then, and we have no big NYE plans as he has to get up early to fly.

Love to you all, safe travels to those traveling, hugs to the sickies... I miss you! :grouphug:
