I may have some news to share.

Mr. T---Yuck honey! I hope everyone feels better soon! Especially that baby. It is noooo fun for everyone to be sick, but it's even doubly hard when parents are sick at the same time the kidlets are.

V---where are ya' honey?

Jen---I may know about martinis.

Kat---Sorry about the cell phone. But, it made me giggle. I'm glad you had a wonderful dinner.

Mel---keep us updated on the sis. I can't believe you're baking skillz!

I'm babysitting Kaia today while Tera is at work. I should be starting more holiday baking, but I had to check in here first.

I took Kaia to the store with me and she did the funniest thing. We were walking up one of the aisles and she says: "I see Mary."

I said, "Who's Mary, honey?" Thinking that it was one of her friends.

She looks at me in horror and starts screaming! At the top of her lungs:

"I SEE MARY! THE MOTHER OF JESUS! I SEE MARY! JESUS' MOTHER! JESUS! JESUS!" (repeat repeat repeat...SCREAMING!)

Everyone in the store stopped to stare.

I have never laughed so hard in my entire life.

We had to go back and see Mary on the candles she had spotted to get her to...ermmmm...be quiet.

Not so mad baking skilz....But, I can follow a recipe. Usually!


Right now I have white chocolate chip/cranberry in the oven. And the reg. choc chip ready to go.

I usually only bake gingersnaps. They're my "signature" cookie. Everyone knows to expect gingersnaps from me. However, I wanted to make some different ones this year!

You gals will love this story. I was out shopping this morning for something to wear to the neighbor's daughter's wedding. It's tomorrow, you know? So, I texted her brother to ask where she was registered. He answered me, then said "We missed you at the wedding on Friday!" Uh, what!!!??? I was actually AT the store shopping for something to wear. I texted back, "OMG, what? It was Friday?!" The mom called me and we had a good laugh about it. I told her I felt AWFUL about it!!! I mean, I wouldn't have missed it for anything! Oh well.
That's what I get for not checking the date. And rechecking. And rechecking AGAIN.
So, I saved myself some cash on an outfit! And I don't have plans tomorrow night now...LOL. But I feel like a giant A$$. Bob laughed pretty hard when I told him though!

So, we're gonna watch Christmas specials with the kiddos instead.

Well my roast pork was yummy and we just watched Elf so Christmas must be nearly here Tomorrow David and I are shopping for the last few bits and hopefully I'll get a chance to do some secret wrapping. Ellie also has her Christmas school show tomorrow night!

We're watching the Colts play like carp! And Mitch is making some chicken stew. I have gone through all the fliers in the paper and now feel the need to shop. Every year this happens. I think I'm finished and then I think I need just a few more things. I do actually have stockings to do but that really is about it. Also I need to decide what kind of cookies to make, but that's something I enjoy so it won't be a chore.

Yeah. NH is a mess. Largest power outage in state history. Lines down in the middle of main roads, let alone the neighborhoods or directly into houses (as my friend Tara's...) It's ugly.

D heard a nice, though slightly unbelievable, rumor that our area might be up tonight or tomorrow, though. I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm at my friends' house (the ones we do holidays with) as they are fully functional. Woody was reduced to reusing clothes today, so I decided a house was more pleasant than a laundromat.

We have a generator and can run everything - heat, water, fridge, TV, Wii... but our cable is out, so no real TV and no modem - so I'm taking horrible advantage of being here. (The wife is flying and the DH is running errands, the kids are watching a movie, so I'm not being THAT antisocial...)

Thanks to all the girls for checking up on me. I feel so loved.

A power surge appears to have fried our wireless router, so when I leave here, I'm going to go get one - in case that power's back tonight (with the cable, but who knows?) I want to be able to use the internet!

We are safe and sound, the deck hasn't yet fallen, so life is OK. They've sadly, though, already canceled school for tomorrow, and even with the generator power, life at home is getting boring for the boys. Sigh. I hope that even if we personally don't have power tomorrow, the school will get it, and we'll be in by Tuesday. I have no idea when I'll be able to check in again - I might be back for the next hour or so, while I'm still here - but if it goes many more days, we'll have to see - at least I can always go to Panera or something if the boys are in school, and use their Wi-Fi...

Anyway, I miss you all, I want someone to catch me up some - Jen is being coy, I see - and I'll see you when I can.

Oh, and the ornament exchange... Nothing even bought yet, and our PO is out of power, so I don't know when it will be mailed, but it WILL be mailed. I apologize!

Four Christmases was pretty funny. When we went into the theatre they had the movie tidbits/commercials that they always show before the previews going, there was no sound though. There were quite a few people already in the theatre so I assumed that somebody has already informed theatre personnel that there was no sound in our theatre and that it would be corrected shortly. Well as the movie got closer and closer still no sound. Well I decided to be pro-active and go let theatre management know so that when the movie started we would actually be able to hear it! It amazed me that nobody else thought to do this.

Thanks. It's supposed to be 53 tomorrow, so the roads, etc. are fine and the ice isn't bringing any new stuff down - it's just a matter of clearing the mess. And not walking on my deck.
