TE- I do what Angela and Mel do too. I also make them for my white wime bottles by using plastic containers like yogurt and placing another contaqiner or bottle in the middle. They are so pretty!

well, i just finished my last shift at the hospital. it really hasn't set in yet. kinda surreal! i'm happy about the move, but i will miss my coworkers greatly!! we went yest morn after work for margiritas and burritos. yes at 8am we were drinking margirias. we had a wonderful time!! last night , they brought in food and balloons. then , they surprised me and unloaded 5 cans of silly string on me. i ran to the corner and took cover , but they got me good!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
It is tough leaving the people we really care about behind. I hope the move will bring you many new fun people to drink at 8 AM with. Hey, I'm all for drinking anytime. It's 5 o'clock somewhere right!

Jo- Congrats on the groceries. Why did the stores open at midnight? Wow! Turkey's are fairly cheap here. I guess that it because my state is the #1 producer of Turkey's. :confused3 That thought is kind of gross.

Mel- Can you send thte box in one of those special freight boxes from the post office? They guarantee shipping in 2 days?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning! I'm just checking in before we start our day.
Last night was a horribly long night with Jon. His feet were hurting him so badly after walking around the botanical gardens. We should have brought his walking cast...of course he can't walk in it. I can't wait for the doc this afternoon.
Hope everyone has a great day! :hug:
Morning :goodvibes
:hug: For Jen and Jon...best of luck at the dr. this afternoon.
Congrats, Rachel! It's always exciting to start a new chapter.
:hug: V....'cause I think you need one.
I hope everyone is staying warm. We've gone from a high of 78 on Saturday to a high of 43 today. :eek: We're off to Costco to battle the crowds. Southern hospitality goes out the window at this time of year. Wish me luck.
Have a great day!
Yep, Leo and I are heading north to visit my family in the Annapolis area.
Last night was a horribly long night with Jon. His feet were hurting him so badly after walking around the botanical gardens.
Good Morning All!! Think I'm all caught up!!:thumbsup2
Margueritas in the AM for Night crews is just a drink on the way home RIGHT!!:lmao: Jo Glad to hear you got your Christmas Bird !! :cool1: What else are you having with it? Is dessert Christmas pud. with sixpences in it???:confused3
Our wintery weather continues , It is bitterly cold here .:scared1: Thank goodness Gas is finally below $2 here !!Makes the warming up the car a lot cheaper !!I still have to get the sliced beef for the Wecks and some good french fries and fixingx for Blue Cheese salad, but my p/t job gave me a GC to a supermarket so that will be helpful!!:cool1:
Good Jo! You are going to cook for the whole family or your 4? I think I missed that.
It's us 4 and my Dad so hardly anyone!
well, i just finished my last shift at the hospital. it really hasn't set in yet. kinda surreal! i'm happy about the move, but i will miss my coworkers greatly!! we went yest morn after work for margiritas and burritos. yes at 8am we were drinking margirias. we had a wonderful time!! last night , they brought in food and balloons. then , they surprised me and unloaded 5 cans of silly string on me. i ran to the corner and took cover , but they got me good!!! :lmao:
Sounds lovely and fun and I'm sure your new work place will be great too!
i'm glad my friends here can move with me whereever i go!!! love you guys!:hug:
Awwwww:hug:
Jo- Congrats on the groceries. Why did the stores open at midnight? Wow! Turkey's are fairly cheap here. I guess that it because my state is the #1 producer of Turkey's. :confused3 That thought is kind of gross.
Our local supermarket is open 24 hours except on Sundays, but because of Christmas opened at midnight today :confused: Our turkey for 6 people cost about $35 :faint: hope Tink's asthma gets better and I keep meaning to thankyou for the photo, so cute!
Last night was a horribly long night with Jon. His feet were hurting him so badly after walking around the botanical gardens. We should have brought his walking cast...of course he can't walk in it. I can't wait for the doc this afternoon.
For Jon :hug: not that he'd probably want it :rotfl2:
Jo Glad to hear you got your Christmas Bird !! :cool1: What else are you having with it? Is dessert Christmas pud. with sixpences in it???:confused3
No Christmas pud for us Rosie as we don't like it or mince pies or Christmas cake :sad2: We have chocolate yule log :rotfl2: People do still put money in their puds though!
Well about 100 dozen cookies later, slight exageration I know :rotfl2: and my kitchen looks as though its snowed but the girls are happy and they're busy decorating them now!
Jimmy is in bed and I have a punding headache and an upset stomach so I am going to bed hoping that I am not getting that virus that is going around.:sick: I have to work tomorrow so I am heading to bed. CHat with you all tomorrow!
Hope today is OK!
We're headed to the Indiana State Museum in the morning with DD7's Brownie troop. The museum is free tomorrow and they've got a Girl Scouts exhibit, so we're meeting there. I've also got to take the dog to the groomer in the morning before we go to the museum.
Sounds like fun!
I'm usually pretty good about the list. My problem is that I tend to also pick up additional items, usually on-sale bulk packages or large numbers of items we use. Jenny's biggest gripe on that is where to store extras until we go through them.
D picks up extras, but he usually gets good stuff like snacks and wine! :)
We had our first night of Chanukah. DS6 got to light the menorah tonight.
sm1stCandle.jpg
The kids got there first night's presents. They were generally pretty happy. :yay:
Nice!
The walking has Jon in a lot of pain with his feet. I always forget when I plan these things about his "issues". We ended the night with him in tears, and him barely able to walk to the car. I'm SO glad tomorrow we finally get to see the doc.
May all of you have an awesome beginning to your week!
:hug: :hug: Let us know!
Home safe and sound !! The Blizzard hasn't hit yet !! Roads weren't too bad !! The wind is awful and there were small snow drifts on the roads in places but all in all not to bad !!I pocked up Christmas breakfst today !! We decided to keep it simple and no more dishes than absolutely necessary ,this way we get to relax and enjoy the Holiday instead of cooking all day' I picked up Jimmy Dean Breakfast Croissants and assorted Danishes from Sam's Club. Also Mini cheesecakes .Have lots of Paper plates and silverware
I'm glad you're safe, and it sounds like a nice breakfast.
Lessa- Do you have a snow blower? Or are your brothers the snow blowers?
:rotfl2:
BTW have you noticed how many people have suddenly posted on my TR because I put castle stay in the title :rotfl2:
;)
Well, I woke up at 7 and couldn't go back to sleep. The boys are all fast asleep, and SD has a friend over too. I have NO idea what Bob's plan is for today. He kept telling me he was going to the office today but they still haven't plowed and he can't get out with the van.
That's sort of an issue because I'm supposed to bring the kids shopping for each other today (one at a time) and clearly that needs the TRUCK. :confused3 No clue what we'll do about that.
The package I ordered for my mom and dad FINALLY arrived here (wish I had been smarter and had it shipped right to them) so I've wrapped it and reboxed it but now it's going to be late! The place I ordered from is only two states over and it supposedly shipped out from them last MONDAY via Priority Mail. So, it took almost a week to go TWO states?????? Argh.
Today, if Bob insists on taking the truck, I think I will bake some cranberry bread. I do have a ton of laundry still to do so that's not a tragedy if I have to stay home.
Sounds like a busy day, good luck mailing stuff, etc.
Morning Fockers! :wave:
No, I didn't drop off the face of the earth - just didn't feel like DISing over the weekend, and if I just login to say "Hi" here, I feel compelled to do something with the 8 million other threads to which I'm subscribed. :rolleyes:
I had a pretty quiet weekend, just did laundry and finished up some projects. I kind of feel like I'm in a holding pattern, waiting for Leo to come home.
Lots of work to get done, though, since I'll be in MD the week after Xmas.
Happy Belated Solstice and Happy Hannukah!
Hi, V! Not long now... :hug:
We are heading to deliver presents today, hit costco and I need to got back to the Mall of America to the American Girl store to exchange! YIKES! I may get sucked into the vortex!
Good luck!
*********************************************************
The kids had a 2 hour delay, and then I did the snowblowing. I need to shower and run out a bit before the party at 1:30.
The kids have their little school concert tonight, too.
D is on the plane, so hopefully he'll be home in time for that. :thumbsup2
Gotta go! I'll see what I missed whilst I was snowblowing - all my quotes came before that - and then I'll see you guys later!
Well, you weren't too chatty while I was outside!
I'm awake. I'm reading, but I don't really have much to say. :confused3 I'm going to work on some school planning and take B to the orthodontist, but that's about it for today. :surfweb:
Morning, Dawn! :goodvibes
Hope everyone has a great day! :hug:
Just a couple more... :hug: :hug:
Have a great day!
Good luck! :hug: I think I have to brave the mall for my babysitter's Hanukkah/holiday gift (she's Jewish, but always gives the boys Christmas presents...), but hopefully since everyone mostly had school today, it won't be too awful.
Well about 100 dozen cookies later, slight exageration I know :rotfl2: and my kitchen looks as though its snowed but the girls are happy and they're busy decorating them now!
Well, that's the important part, right? ;)
******************************************
I got an e-mail from Buzz's teacher - I forgot to put his tennis shoes in his pack - he's wearing snow boots. He doesn't have PE today, but she wants them for some reason :confused: , so I need to stop by the school now, then run errands and still try to get back for the party. I've gotta move!
:grouphug: Have a great day!
Good Morning Everyone. Jim woke me out of a dead sleep with his snoring at 4AM and I have been up ever since:headache: Although my headache is gone and I don't feel nauseous anymore:thumbsup2 I am work today, but it is my last day until next Monday:yay: :yay:
Jodi - Glad your MIL is doing better! Any word on if they charged the other driver?
Jo - The supermarket opened at midnight:confused: Although Macy's here is upoening today and staying open for 36 stright hours.:eek:
Jen - Hope Jon is feeling better
Jen2- Jimmy started sounding croupy last night with the cold weather. We but the vaporizer on in his room last night. He seemed fine this morning:confused3
I'm fixin to head out to buy more gift tags and light bulbs...and superglue. :rolleyes:
Poor baby! Croup is going around here too! Hey, how did I end up Jen2? I used to be Jen1. :confused3 Is it because I'm not around much? ;)
I'm fixin to head out to buy more gift tags and light bulbs...and superglue. :rolleyes:
Superglue. Should I ask WHAT are you doing with it?
CE- Our job as mom's is NEVER done. Drive safe today on those snowy roads.
______________
Well girls it is a balmy -11 right now. :eek: I decided to hang out and clean this for the day. My DH is dropping our ds to a friends house for a playdate and I can nap TINK then drop her off to my DH at work and head to the dreaded Mall of America and Costco. It is just too cold! This is unbearable for December! These are temps that we get in Jan/Feb... not Dec!
oops Jen1, sorry my mistake:flower3:
Do we really WANT to know what the superglue is for???:rolleyes1
-11:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I won't complain about the WC Factor of 12:eek:
I'm not sure we do...? ;)
It is pretty scary outside! It is so cold that the exhaust from cars freezes and there isn't an ice melter that works on the highways! But my favorite;) is that it is so cold that upon your first intake of air, your nose hairs freeze! :rotfl: I'm staying inside until I HAVE to leave. Lets hope it warms up to 0! I guess it was as low as -20 earlier this AM. :scared:
Okay, I come from what I thought was one of the coldest places on earth, but even Buffalo isn't that cold! :faint: I did hear the city's mostly shut-down, though. It's gotta be REALLY bad for it to affect daily life in Buff. :rolleyes:
I used to work with a girl wholived in Buffalo. Once they shut the courts down becasue of the snow we got...there was something like 10 inches of snow on the ground. When we started the phone chain to let everyone know we were off her response was ...for this little bit of snow???:rotfl2:
BTW - You are only 2 hours away from Phily when you are in MD:rolleyes1
Exactly! I was laughing at a friend's DH who grew up in the South and now lives in Buff... he was out shoveling their driveway due to a 6" snowfall. I was like "Sweetie, you don't shovel that, you drive THROUGH it!" :rotfl:
BTW - You are only 2 hours away from Phily when you are in MD:rolleyes1
Hee hee, can't you just see me asking my aunt to drive us to Philly to meet my "imaginary internet friend"?!
