Amen to that Dawn - here's to an uneventful day all around! :grouphug:

I seem to be engaged in a little Resort Roulette here. Wanna play with me?!

My thought: do something with Memorial Day Wknd., since I only get Leo for it every other year and this is one of those years. The requirements are:

1. Not too expensive - no airfare involved.
2. Must involve plenty of down-time.

I had orignally thought about Jekyll Island, which we've visited before and enjoyed. No rooms available at the Jekyll Island Club, but I can get the Beachview Club for $229/night. We've stayed there and it's nice, but if it should rain, there's nothing to do. Beautiful area, but it'll be too chilly for us to swim.

I've also been pondering Sanibel Island, and specifically the Sanibel Inn. Also $229/night. Never stayed there, but it gets good reviews and looks pretty. SHoudl be warm enough for swimming, assuming pool is heated well. Again, if it rains, we're shot.

And then there's Universal. The parks aren't all that enticing to us yet, but the hotels are. Royal Pacific reminds me of the Poly - and you all know how much I love the Poly! Pros: should be warm enough to swim, relaxed vibe, both US and WDW available for rainy days. Rate for 3 nights is $269/night. 4 nights is $172-186! I know. 3 nights is my preference, but 4 costs LESS!!! Gah.

Finally, there's the option of waiting and hoping for a WDW discounted rate at the Poly, BC, YC, CR, BWI or even CBR. We all know the pros and cons here... dare I risk waiting for a discount that may never come?

OR... do I chuck it all and stay home.

:confused3 I'm open to opinions! :teeth:

Wait for a WDW discount or go the Universal route.

I'm not multi-quoting this morning but I did read.

I think I should have left Jon in the hospital. I had to help him get to the bathroom this morning and help him get in the bath. :guilty: Although he has been able to hold down all liquids since the middle of the night. I think it would have benefitted him to be in the hospital on fluids a bit longer.

I didn't sleep barely at all.

Ya' ever had those days where you're being pulled in a million different directions?

I am at work. Jon's with his grandpa. I think he'll start perking up soon. It just sucked yesterday. Between Jon, some other life things, and drama...I needed a big ol' bottle of tequila. Straight up.

Oh...and meeska came through her surgery just fine. She rather enjoyed the morphine part. She thanks you for your good wishes.

I have a funny, not so funny, oh crap, everything will work out fine story.

Ok, so prior to 7:00PM on 11/29/08, I had never met BIL's GF; the one we were taking with us on a 4-day trip. So, 26 hours later, as we are trying to load 3 excited caffeine filled Loud Children and luggage for 7 in the van, I casually said, "you do like children, right?" She says oh yes, I love them, and BIL chimes in with, "she wants to have 5 children." I just chuckle in my head....a lot, and think alrighty then, hop on in our birthcontrolmobile. By the time we returned to Raleigh, 5.5 days later, her child request was down to 1. I looked at BIL and said, "you're welcome" to which I received a high five, atta girl, 2 thumbs up, and a hug.

Well, 2-ish weeks ago, I get a phone call from BIL saying that his girlfriend is pregnant. :scared: The first thing out of my mouth was, "was 12 hours in the van with us not enough?" :confused3

Aside from being scared, they are accepting their situation. I should have a new neice or nephew on or around 9/25/09, and hopefully a new SIL as well!!!!! :hyper: I just got one new SIL on 11/30/08!! I have been waiting 15 years for one.

First off Congratulations, but.....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Enabler. ;)

I'll add in another scenario... I could pull Leo out of a whole week of school and do the 4/3 deal for only marginally more than US. It would be the week before the last week of school. Is that really bad?!

Ya' ever had those days where you're being pulled in a million different directions?
::yes:: I know Jen, I know!

V - I could barely keep up with all of that :faint:
And you call yourself a Focker?! :sad2: ;)

I just chuckle in my head....a lot, and think alrighty then, hop on in our birthcontrolmobile.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Awww, congrats S'latey! :goodvibes

I hope today is uneventful. :sad2:
Hope everyone gets better

:confused3 I'm open to opinions! :teeth:
Errrrr does Leo mind which? Would he like US yet? It's silly to stay the 3 nights when 4 is cheaper, does that help :rotfl2:

Hilarious :rotfl2:

I have been waiting 15 years for one.
And then 2 come along at once huh :rotfl2: Congrats Auntie S'Late :goodvibes

V, I don't know what to tell you. D used to go to Sanibel for work all the time. They always stayed at the Sanibel Harbour Resort, but he says it's not on the island itself. He always liked it, though. (The whole area, not just the hotel...) I've not been to US in FL, just in CA, and well, your WDW knowledge is vastly superior to mine... ;) Good luck!

S'late, that's a funny/not funny/glad they're OK with it story! :rotfl2: I particularly like your comments. :)

Dawn, I'm sorry the kiddos had a bad night, hope they're better today.

Mel, hope your day is smooth!

Hi, everyone! :wave2:

************************************************
Had my super-fun-no-stress tennis class this morning, and now I'm just doing some laundry and thinking of what else I need to do. No after school stuff tonight, so my obligations are done for the day, woohoo!

D has to fly tomorrow, just for the day. I'm meeting some of the twin playgroup moms for coffee after I do my volunteering.

I don't know too much else. I'll be in and out! :grouphug:

From the teacher. Jim says if they don't have exams for his class that week he sees no issue with pulling him out of school. He doesn't believe exams are really necessary until the 3rd grady anyway. Does that enable you enough;)

And you call yourself a Focker?! :sad2: ;)

I know my card should be revoked, but I have an excuse today. I AM DEALING WITH CRAZY PEOPLE...who are criminals on top of it :faint:

Hi CE :wave2:

Z... the whole snowy all the time in Colorado is just a myth...

Yes I remember there wasn't snow all the time, but I would think with all this cold all over the country I would've thought it got snow.

not me... but I will eventually... I still have to catch up on last seasons eps from my DVR

 I completely understand it took me until a few months ago to watch last season too.

Shhhhhhh we don't get it here for a few weeks!!!!

:ssst:

And Noooooo! Does this mean we'll postpone FF 2010?! :sad1:

Congrats on the new SIL.

Hi Everyone!

All I can say is Lost was confusingly exciting. Looks like a good season.

Did anyone catch Lie to Me? The new show with Tim Roth? OMG it was actually really good. Fox will probably cancel it. :upsidedow

Have to go to work for a class in a little bit and call my boss to see what they want now :headache:. Then gotta run errands.

I'll catch up later this evening.... :hippie:

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been on much. With the kids getting all those snow days and then having a crazy busy week I haven't had the time nor energy to do much Dis'ing.

So, how is everyone doing? Any recaps that I can go back to?

Today is a down day for DR and I but we're back at it again tomorrow. My butt is planted in front of the computer today doing E-bay listings. I do this to myself every year. I buy way too much for them and then have way too much to list on E-bay. But I am proud of myself and did waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy better with their winter stuff. :)

I seem to be engaged in a little Resort Roulette here. Wanna play with me?!

I forgot to quote you V....

Those resort prices are skeery to me. :scared:

Sanibel....I don't know if you saw my reply in the last thread, but...
We stayed about 10 min outside of Sanibel in Ft Myers and just had to pay the toll. The hotels are cheaper and the room was a suite with full kitchen and pretty nice.

Otherwise I vote with everyone else and say wait for Disney or US discounts.

Hey guys! Quickie drive-by!:moped: :moped:

Jodi's in Cali right now on her way to DLR! :cool1: Probably will see her tomorrow!

Catch you later!! :wave2:

::yes:: I'm 99% sure they don't have any exams, but I'll check with his teacher before any planning commences. Also, I have breaking news...

Otherwise I vote with everyone else and say wait for Disney or US discounts.
Enabler 2. ;) Thanks Z - the only reason I'm considering Ft. Meyers is because my dad lived there for years; it's too familiar to be a vacation, KWIM?

Jodi's in Cali right now on her way to DLR! :cool1: Probably will see her tomorrow!
Cool!

Did you see my email T? If not, read on...

I'm the latest victim of Ticker-gate. Curse of the Ticker. Ticker-No-Vacation-Itus.

My long and carefully planned Aug. WDW trip just came to a grinding halt. :headache: Summer camp info. was released and camps don't start until June 8, a week AFTER school ends, and the camps end Aug. 14, a week BEFORE school starts. Which means I'll have to take off from work for at least one of those weeks. The ex and I each get 2 weeks vacation time, so I'll either split mine up and cover both weeks Leo has no school or camp, or the ex will cover one week and I'll cover teh other. In either case, I'll have to change my WDW trip to either late or early summer.

Just when I thought I had it all planned out...
