Amen to that Dawn - here's to an uneventful day all around!
I seem to be engaged in a little Resort Roulette here. Wanna play with me?!
My thought: do something with Memorial Day Wknd., since I only get Leo for it every other year and this is one of those years. The requirements are:
1. Not too expensive - no airfare involved.
2. Must involve plenty of down-time.
I had orignally thought about Jekyll Island, which we've visited before and enjoyed. No rooms available at the Jekyll Island Club, but I can get the Beachview Club for $229/night. We've stayed there and it's nice, but if it should rain, there's nothing to do. Beautiful area, but it'll be too chilly for us to swim.
I've also been pondering Sanibel Island, and specifically the Sanibel Inn. Also $229/night. Never stayed there, but it gets good reviews and looks pretty. SHoudl be warm enough for swimming, assuming pool is heated well. Again, if it rains, we're shot.
And then there's Universal. The parks aren't all that enticing to us yet, but the hotels are. Royal Pacific reminds me of the Poly - and you all know how much I love the Poly! Pros: should be warm enough to swim, relaxed vibe, both US and WDW available for rainy days. Rate for 3 nights is $269/night. 4 nights is $172-186! I know. 3 nights is my preference, but 4 costs LESS!!! Gah.
Finally, there's the option of waiting and hoping for a WDW discounted rate at the Poly, BC, YC, CR, BWI or even CBR. We all know the pros and cons here... dare I risk waiting for a discount that may never come?
OR... do I chuck it all and stay home.
I'm open to opinions!
